Why didn't you guys tell me about this? It's fucking hilarious. The animation is horrible on it's own but these guys bring it to a whole new fucking level.
Honestly, I'm starting to regret
buyingit a little less now. I'm certainly getting my entertainment out of it.
It's really not. I dropped that shit fairly early on, after what felt like the fifth consecutive chapter of the MC standing there, panting and sweating, while surrounded by robots who were making mean faces at him, very pointedly NOT SHOOTING AT ANY OF THEM WITH THE GUN IN HIS HAND. 18 pages of that shit, several times in a row.
It's the most boring, edgy pile of shit I've ever read.
>then drops so far into the shit scale that you regret ever having read it
It started so nicely....
fuck you faggots
you all thought GANTZ was this amazing work of art and you didn't get it. stop shitting all over it, it was great
the ending was fucking amazing, it's exactly the clustermindfuck we all read about in 2005
Was that the one where MC had absolutely no friends left to fight aliens with, and ended up fucking bailing? Then the alien shows up at his school or some shit? I dropped it around there, so I don't know what happens after that.
everyone dies at buddha, MC left alive and no one new shows up at the next mission
he kinda panics, but starts to wreck the musclefairies
the last one outsmarts him. he panics again but time runs out
later it comes to his school to take revenge
For the love of God, finish it then read the manga! It's so fucking bad it's awesome. I had more fun reading it than any other series because it's so shit but fun. It's the ultimate train ride.
This manga made deaths in fictional media pretty tame to me, it just kept introducing new characters that were going to die for sure, so I stopped caring about them
I'm in the same boat that you are, I heard a lot about Gantz before I sat down to watch it. I watched the first five minutes then deleted the whole of it. Later I went back and watched the series then read the manga and even though it was so bad it made me angry a few times, I still love it because what a ride it was. I unironically liked the alien machines in the last story arc. They were awesome.
Get to the start of Katastrophe and stop. When it begins, everything turns to shit. Writer realizes he needs to end it, but he's so used to stretching it out he clusterfucks the shit out of the pacing. Several major events happen offscreen and half the shit's illogical. Maybe read the last 5-10 chapters for closure and some memorable laughs at how bad it gets (lol America, lol Gantz purpose reveal).
Osaka=Jurassic Park>Super Fast Demon Boss>the rest
I never understood the point of dropping things like Gantz.
Sure, there are some things you just have to drop, but Gantz is still entertaining while it is bad and it is so easy to speedread too. I think it is much better to be able to tell yourself " Yes, thats finished" than think about that manga you never finished from time to time.
>the ending was fucking amazing
Dude, the author just forgot about plotlines
>the whole world might be virtual reality
>global conspiracy about Gantz production
>fake reality created for alien propaganda
In the end he just said "Fuck it, there's another race of aliens who is way more powerful, but for some reason never interefere."
The ending was the absolute worst. The author had no plan where he was going with any of it, so he made up the "room of explanations" (not even kidding), with an alien delivering exposition for several pages.
Fuck the people, who kept telling me it would get better and all would be explained.
Gantz is the "Lost" of anime.
Are you serious?
It's absolute trash: tits, monsters and gore and the author couldn't even follow a plot about guys killing random shit without filling it with plotholes. Let's not talk about the characters, half of them were introduced and killed, the other half introduced, forgotten and then killed
I find it amusing that the chase scene in revenge of the sith had general grievous flee on a gantz type monowheel.
Made me remember gantz. Confused me as I didn't know what was shittier, that scene or gantz (at the time).
Should I watch sub or dub? Which is better in this case?
Keep in mind English and Japanese are both foreign languages for me, so I'll still have english subtitles(it's easier to understand by reading than by hearing) even if watching Dub.
