Just get the BDs up to episode 8 then follow the normal releases after. I don't like some of the composite changes in the BD though. The smoke here for instance had clear 2D line art in the TV release but now it's been modified to look more like real smoke with fine particles and the 2D elements are blurred out. But then again, it's just a matter of taste though.

The problem with the show was that Ufo had some issues that made them barely finish UBW's 2nd half in time. Then having to do GE inmediately after caused the issues to snowball to the point where they needed to delay almost every episode because they couldn't get them done in time
