First time dropping a KyoAni show. Absolutely horrible. KyoAni should burn down.
I think it's pretty fair to assume that they relied on fanservice and cute girls to carry this shitty show. Unfortunately, the shittyness of the show is too much for the girls to make a difference.
>Mai - Generic tsundere
>Reina - Moe blob
>Koito - emotionless doll
>Ruru- energetic fairy
>Haru - beta faggot bookworm
These personalities aren't good enough to maintain a generic episodic phantom of the day formula for 13 episodes.
Not dropping Hyouka....jesus christ.
Oh I am sorry but the concept of solving boring piddly mysteries that no one really gives a shit about with a gary stu with no emotion isn't exactly my cup of tea.
Also Chitanda is extremely annoying.
OP here. I don't disagree in a sense. Hyouka was pretty boring but the MC was likeable enough for me to keep watching. Then again, I was also much more tolerable back then when it came to watching anime.
It had a decent atmosphere and the characters weren't too bad, but when I realized the story was going nowhere and character development was nonexistent I dropped it halfway through.
Disappearance really was Kyoani's peak.
It's not bad, exactly, it's just really fucking boring.
No over-arching plot, uninteresting characters with deadpan acting, somewhat interesting premises not even remotely explored in enough detail, etc.
To top it off, it's like they tried to make a battle harem but sucked out all of the usual "excitement" associated with the genre by trying to take Hibike! Euphonium/Hyouka type characters, dressed them up, then shoved them in where they don't belong.
I'll watch it regardless though, I guess, since the animation quality is still ridiculous.
I was on the fence about this but I immediately dropped it when that fuckugly loli started getting more than 30 seconds of screentime per episode
isn't that piece of shit an anime original? how the fuck could they possibly design a character that ugly looking?
Also the magic is inconsistent, the chanting is annoying, the teacher pays them which is ridiculous and the notion that the students could seriously get hurt or die is stupid. There are no safety percussions if a phantom seriously hurts them.
we hate the show because it's failed at literally every aspect other than visuals. First couple episodes showed some potential, if only for the interesting delivery of fanservice
Monogatari has characters of substance, an overarching plot in each arc, great visual direction and is interesting.
They also don't try to do too many things once and push for what they are good for.
I don't follow. If you actually watched the arcs you see how the characters change and they become more fleshed out with their interactions.
I dropped it at the little girl's episode.
I'm sorry. Talking bears is the straw that broke the camel's back.
Only the first episode was good because bouncing tits.
I miss Hyouka
I think Hibike was a nice filler to the hole Hyouka left.
It's getting a second season too. It's really too bad that whoever writing Hyouka is probably rich and won't ever write again even though it's apparantly claimed that Hyouka was supposed to progress till their adult hood
Why do you want me to say besides watch the anime? If you don't see how the girls got great characterization then nothing more needs to be said. Comparing *kisses fingers* the girls of Monogatari to shitstain girls of Phantom is an insult.
