OP here. I don't disagree in a sense. Hyouka was pretty boring but the MC was likeable enough for me to keep watching. Then again, I was also much more tolerable back then when it came to watching anime.

So, I read that the new Full Metal Panic will be animated by a studio in Tokyo. Any idea which one it could be?

It's not bad, exactly, it's just really fucking boring.

No over-arching plot, uninteresting characters with deadpan acting, somewhat interesting premises not even remotely explored in enough detail, etc.

To top it off, it's like they tried to make a battle harem but sucked out all of the usual "excitement" associated with the genre by trying to take Hibike! Euphonium/Hyouka type characters, dressed them up, then shoved them in where they don't belong.

I'll watch it regardless though, I guess, since the animation quality is still ridiculous.

Also the magic is inconsistent, the chanting is annoying, the teacher pays them which is ridiculous and the notion that the students could seriously get hurt or die is stupid. There are no safety percussions if a phantom seriously hurts them.
