What are we downloading this weekend boys?
Ready to add still more to your backlog?
>still having a backlog
shit. How can you be this pleb?
this, I still have to put it on my harddrive for 3 fucking days, and I still have to DL the entire thing or it will be a H&R anyways.
I've to give it to Bakabt, they're superior
>people flocking to download 1080p releases even though they're already freeleech
For what purpose?
Are you implying more choice is worse?
Because AB does a great job of putting all sorts inferior torrents out. But if you want to test which one is better, you gotta not only download the entire torrent but also keep it up and seed it (spread bad torrents) for another 3 days.
Just phase it shill: AB's system is worse
Dennou Coil and Jinrui are good shows.
Everything else on that list is a horrible disappointment unless your taste is japanese-grade shit.
You don't even have to retard. Just download a single episode and compare a single episode to each other, then delete the worse looking one. You know you don't have to seed anything you download less than 10% of right? and most torrents have more than 10 episodes.
You can find most of what's on AB on either BakaBt or Nyaa with adequate seeding. There's very few releases which are unique to AB (I've only found two in my tenure on the site). Most times if I want to download something if I check both Nyaa and Bakabt I usually find a well seeded version that I like. In the years I've used the site I've only downloaded around 20 torrents.
More choice is always better, you retard. Bakabt system is fucking retarded because they just pick 'quality torrents' (whoever the admins are bumbuddies with) and only upload those. Only a retard would think special 'hand picked' torrents for 'quality' is a better option to having the option to choice what one to download. Or, are you a retard incapable of thinking for yourself and too lazy to download a single episode to decide which one to use?
>not setting up an RSS feed that does everything for you
I forgot about that anon, thanks.
>the masses are more intelligent and will pick the right thing when having a lot of choice instead of having a single choice forced down by a dictator
You're wrong. Read some history books.
Wait, are you the anon that got rejected 6 times from AB? I bet you are.
>How can you complain about it if you've never used it?
but i'm not the one complaining, different anon
no, I've never even applied
>please tell us what are your favorite anime and why you like them so much, also link your MAL
>all those shit single episodes clogging up my transfer history
>Just download a single episode and compare a single episode to each other
>you have incurred a "hit and run"
I bet you're actually some power-tripping mod on AB. This is exactly their logic.
I'm downloading a shitload of VNs because this is the only time they ever go freeleech.
Umineko and Higurashi in particular should be fun
>You know you don't have to seed anything you download less than 10% of right?
>You know you don't have to seed anything you download less than 10% of right?
>You know you don't have to seed anything you download less than 10% of right?
That has nothing to do with anything, you fucking mongrel. This isn't some political situation, this is downloading anime. You are literally retarded if you thinking having only a single choice to download is better than multiple. Just go fucking stream if you want that, retard.
Having tons of shit with one good choice each show is better than only one choice each show which has a high chance of being shit.
The difference is: The masses don't "decide" on one option here. In AB's system, you can still use any option you want.
Heck, if you think of BakaBT's mods so highly, then just go look up which release they took and then download it from Animebytes. You wouldn't be able to do the reverse.
>masses don't decide on one option
Never claimed they did. This is irrelevant to the result however. If any, having the massed decide on a single result at least increases the chances of it bearing the same outcome as a knowledgeable dictator would. Though that would be purely coincidental, and only happen every so often.
>This is irrelevant to the result however.
I find it to be quite a relevant difference whether I can download from a pool of 1 or 1+ releases.
> decide on a single result at least increases the chances of it bearing the same outcome as a knowledgeable dictator would.
Didn't you just argue for "the masses" being stupid? It would be the same outcome as an ignorant dictator then, if anything.
For how long till it's not considered a hit run? Because I started downloading something but changed my mind and stopped it afterwards.
Also, what's good to download that's not available in nyaa/bakabt?
If the masses had to make a single choice, it would at least end up being the right choice every now and then.
I'm just repeating myself at this point, nothing I've said is contradictory and it's all pretty basic shit. If you find trouble comprehending anything I've said it's within you, not in my explanation
Yes, but I think that's a good thing. People that have gained huge amounts of upload from other torrents are still required to seed everything they download. Even if it is freeleech.
Depends on the size. Minimum seed time of 72 hours, plus an additional 5 hours per GB of the torrent's size over 10GB.
>I will always be too autistic to join a private tracker
>I will spend all my time waiting for freeleech times because I won't download anything because seeding is for gays
Literally, and I do mean literally, half of AB is freeleech by default. I have an infinite ratio.
All private trackers are easy as piss to join
Everyone quivers in fear of trackers like what.cd but all you need to do is go on irc, wait and answer a few simple questions which are obvious if you've used torrents before. It's just to vet out complete retards who are going to fuck the websites up and not share
I would send you to /ptg/ but that place has become a shitheap.
Just fill out the application, don't type like a retard, and promise that you'll seed forever. It's pretty damn easy.
>mfw I fucked up my infinite ratio by accident
>If the masses had to make a single choice, it would at least end up being the right choice every now and then.
Seems like you're really bothered by having to think for yourself.
As with the real world analogy, there's a problem with getting a knowledgeable dictator in the first place. BakaBT mods have been shown to be partial towards groups affiliated with them. There's a flaw in this system, too. It just occurs earlier.
>and it's all pretty basic shit.
That's funny, because you seem to fail at basic shit then. Look up the Forecasting ACE studies. Wisdom of the crowds has been empirically shown to be a real thing over and over.
Daijoubu anon, at least you get to be a User now.
>I told them I wasn't going to seed very much unless there were few seeders
I just told them I'm only going to seed the things I like and everything else can be leached into hell and I got accepted.
My hit and runs says no, so it looks like I'm good. I'll seed for a few days just in case. Thanks anons
>mfw I joined nearly a year ago, yet I almost never use the site.
Almost everything can be found elsewhere honestly.
How does that even happen? I basically never use AB or seed anything and I still have a decent ratio.
>In the years I've used the site I've only downloaded around 20 torrents.
I'm scouring the site looking for anime I don't even want to watch so that I won't regret missing out on the freeleech later.
This is what private trackers do to you, kids.
Yeah but it's basically impossible to download enough non-freeleech stuff to really mess up your ratio unless you've never seeded anything ever. That's especially true with BD releases of older shows.
All shilling aside: When will AB host digital manga?
>he doesn't have a massive buffer already
>AB already has manga
Yeah, they've got shitty scans. That reminded me of that day they removed the first 28 volumes of Naruto because it was 'incomplete' despite being like 10times the resolution of the torrent that replaced it.
I meant digital manga. Not those shitty scans from people that aren't native.
Good ol america. "land of the free."
When I signed up for my service there wasn't even a data cap. Next thing I know I get a letter saying
>hey guess what, we're rolling out a mandatory 300 GB a month program for all users in your area! have fun!
I don't even know how this shit is legal. Bunch of fucking cocksuckers.
Idaho. When I lived in Texas I had even worse internet, I was getting literal dial up speeds because even though I lived 40 minutes away from Dallas the only provider was AT&T and they didn't have "high speed" internet in my area.
this is what happens when corporate lobbying controls your country, and brainwashed idiots who shoot down anything publicly funded because "muh freedums"
They don't realize that they're taking a bigger dildo up the ass from corporate america than the government itself.
I find it difficult to explain why I like a specific anime, and I don't really bother rating things or having favorites, it all seems so artificial. To me you either like something or you don't. But the reason you like something is because it gave you enjoyment. What kind of reason is that? Does that explain anything?
>Signed up to AB long ago
>Rejected, despite having well-written "applications"
>Denied after 3 days of waiting
>Try again more recently, but putting garbage like SAO and Code Geass as my favorites of all time
>Account granted to me in a few hours
Is AB even a good site, or is my experience a good hint of how bad it really is?
I mean I got in, but I still think it's a stupid requirement, I had to literally go to MAL and copy paste shit because apparently you need to critically examine the reason you like things in life in order to truly enjoy said thing
Can't really answer that without knowing exactly what you wrote. But it is possible they are a bit more lenient at the moment since there's ~1500 free user slots. Maybe there were a lot fewer the last time you signed up.
What I wrote though, I can't exactly explain, but I can say I wrote an educated few statements for my initial sign up, and "I like this cause it was good" comments for my latest one. I mean, I'm convinced they don't even care what you write unless it's a lasting flavor of the month show.
>My favorite anime is Legend of Galactic Heroes. I really enjoy the politicking, especially in the Imperial Court. The way it shows the effects of military leaders' decisions on ordinary footsoldiers and ship crew members during battle gives each of those decisions meaning and impact.
That's all you have to do.
They don't care about your tastes, retard. They are only looking to see if you aren't a retard and someone who can actually torrent correctly and will atleast seed. Just don't be a retard saying he loves naruto or something.
They also probably know that you've applied twice, unless you applied from elsewhere. In general, in any interview people look for skills or metaskills (skills to acquire skills) and dedication. Not giving up after one rejection might be an indicator of caring more than the guy that doesn't even bother to write a simple application.
To be honest, I highly doubt that it matters which anime you pick. The justification and what they can deduce from the fluff is always much more important.
Most likely, however, you might've simply gotten reviewed by a different mod - or they're more lenient because of open slots.
>tfw after demonoid and bitgamer got taken down I'm stuck with AB and public trackers
Most "old" VNs is rarely in public tracker, or already have 0 seeders. Either you download from AB, or erogedownload but the speed is awful.
"old" forgotten anime is also in AB too.
I have over 700 TV series, over 300 OVAs and a little over 100 Movies. All at their highest quality available. Every single one from public torrents.
You are LITERALLY a faggot teenager who thinks he's cool because he was finally let into a sekrit club that isn't actually any better than the open ones.
Fuck off, faggot.
>You are LITERALLY a faggot teenager who thinks he's cool because he was finally let into a sekrit club that isn't actually any better than the open ones.
You are LITERALLY projecting.
>on top of it they basically force you to download 1080p
>it's not even worth it to use it because all their releases are taken from nyaa anway
It's basically junk bro.
Bought an invite.
Used it for a month or two.
Someone snitched on my invitee and I got treebanned with the rest of the fags.
And to be honest, my ip is dynamic and I can just as easily get a new invite if I wanted to but it's too much of a hassle.
I guess if you listen to shitty nip music there's some point to it but besides that, meh.
t. can't get in privates
Stay pleb, I'll enjoy my AB, whatcd, popcorn time, aaaaarg, etc.
>Bought an invite.
>being such a rube you had to BUY your way into the single easiest and most casual private tracker on the internet
>never have been to invite trading websites
Yeah I fucking "boguth" it. As in I gave the fuck epenis currency. Not actual money.
>they think someone pays for invites for anime torrenting websites
Come the fuck on.
Then fuck off to /pol/ so they can jerk you off insead of trying to feel intelligent by spouting "everything is politics". That's the biggest piece of bullshit I've heard in a long time, and if you haven't even hit puberty, you shouldn't be here
>invite trading websites
Nigger AB has open registration every couple months since they regularly prune inactive users and end up with a lot of open spots they need filled. You "traded" your way into a private tracker that is barely even private because it lets in basically anyone who bothers to fill out their piss easy registration form.
Why the hell am I funny?
I'm not a fucking college student you retard.
None of my friends watch anime.
How else am I suppose to get an invite for that trash heap?
Write a fucking essay?
You don't need an invite into AB, you don't need experience with private trackers, you don't even need to know hardly anything about torrenting or anime. They have almost no standards about who they let in, they just have a membership cap and a registration form to keep out the mouthbreathers.
>Write an essay
I sure can tell you aren't a college student. That 'essay' is piss easy.
>BakaBT has big ass blacklist
This is an annoying downside, but the stuff that's blacklisted because they're licensed are usually popular enough to end up finding on nyaa.
More obscure older anime that's not licensed by funi or whatever is there with seeds.
>people need trackers for their doujins
And you plebs were making fun of me.
LMAO I have so much hath I could download the whole sad panda if I wished to do so.
AB is basically a hugbox for "elitist" shitfucks. The fact you even need an invite process for a fucking nyaa mirror is ridiculous.
Again, call me when there's a reason for you to exist.
If you made PU on AB you might be able to get an invite to some other, much better private trackers (though don't bet on it since AB doesn't exactly have an elite reputation in the PT community).
the only thing more autistic is paid private trackers.
No, for other media. Movies, TV shows, music, etc. I mean, anime hardly needs a private tracker to begin with. Sure AB has a lot of good stuff but most of it can be found on public trackers. It's more of a safety net than anything.
Grabbed some BT blacklisted stuff in case Nyaa never comes back up.
That's true for every private trackers. That's why I don't bother with any of that shit.
Well save for mam, but audiobooks are worth the autism. And they're small so downloading the whole torrents isn't that much of a problem.
BG was amazing I doubt there will ever be anything as good. There were so many exclusive releases, hell someone even made patches for a few games on there. I have an account on black-cats but i would rather just use other general trackers since they all have the same content.
AB has a few good exclusive releases, I even made one myself but i can't even be bothered to fix my H & R warnings to use it again. It is good for VNs though and maybe music if you can't find it on bakabt.
No, the best route would be:
1. Make account, login and search for what you want
2. Copy the link to the page with the torrent
4. Paste the link to return and download the torrent
You're not really giving back.
Some of the torrents I keep up for months and I very rarely reach 1.00 on even the rarest of them.
And on top of this shit there's still the bounty system. And it's not like there's anything truly rare on AB.
It's basically autism they got from other trackers which doesn't quite have a place or reason to exist for that specific tracker.
I never seed any of my downloads. Not wastin' my bandwidth on that shit.
Funnily enough, I had a 300-something positive ratio with terabytes seeded on BakaBT and got banned for inactivity, because I preferred o use AB (AB's Gazelle > anything). The account was immediately deleted. Wouldn't have happened if I just used the Coogle method.
>You're not really giving back. Some of the torrents I keep up for months and I very rarely reach 1.00 on even the rarest of them.
Giving back doesn't necessarily mean giving back equal to or more than you took, albeit that is preferable. The only thing that is important is that there's enough seeding being done that stuff can be downloaded at proper speeds. It's only important that you give back _enough_.
That's quite egoistic. I really don't see why someone wouldn't seed, unless he's Murrican or Sahara-African and has crazily terrible bandwidth caps.
Even 2 KB/s upload by a lot of such people can contribute a lot cumulitively, but I understand and accept that some of us have a much better opportunity to do good than others.
Why do you guys need a private torrent site? I'm banned from bakabt, but I use it to find the best sub group (they always have the best sub group picked) and then I just google the release name and download it from some other torrent site, usually the subber's site.
>they always have the best sub group picked
Yeah, no they fucking don't.
>Wahh I'll get a hit and run
Just keep the torrent active and limit your upload to something like 10Kbps. The time limit for hit and runs is lenient as fuck so unless you decide to not use your computer at all for a month you'll never get them.
It's just a very nice feeling knowing that if I ever want to find some obscure 70's OVA, I can. It's also nice having several options for whatever show I want to watch, whereas nyaa will typically only have two or three seeded, and baka literally only one.
If you don't mind seeding, there's really no reason NOT to use a private tracker. Well, at least, not the generous ones like AB, where keeping your membership is as simple as leaving the client open. As you climb the pyramid, trackers get harder to join, the rules and staff get more and more autistic, and it's ultimately just not worth it beyond epeen.
I'm looking at you, Exigo.
>Even 2 KB/s upload by a lot of such people can contribute a lot cumulitively,
That might be doable. So how long can i have an account go inactive before it gets deleted/banned or shit?
And I'm about to start defragging my HDD.
Whatever,I have like 500 gigs of my backlog already downloaded anyway.
I think it was 10 weeks. But I heard you can contact them on IRC and they restore your account once. If you are a power user you won't get deleted due to inactivity.
You have to actually be logged in on the site, simply leaving your torrent client open won't count as a activity, even if you seed.
>defragging your animu storage HDD
for what purpose
fuck sign up looks to be closed.
Had a account, by IIRC they deleted since i went inactive for a while.
Do they allow the same users to come back again? Or should i just try again under a new name.
>tfw you can't download anything because you filled all your HDDs with anime
What should I download out of these? also is Witch Craft Works worth watching?
