Not necessarily. They are other things that are most likely to be skipped over. Pretty much everything from chapter 25 to 34 except for the one when the killer throws Satoru into the lake.

From chapters 35 through 40, a lot of things will be cut, but I doubt this almost-meeting between Satoru and Airi will be one of them. It's necessary for Satoru's character development.

And chapter 41 through 44 will probably be condensed into one episode.

He's bad at writing endings. If the deadline was an issue then his remaining chapters would be rushing from one plot point to the next in rapid pace. So it would be a problem of too much information or too many reveals happening one after the other.

The bad writing is why there are so many flashbacks and voice over narration, with pages of MC just walking or recovering.

What explanation do you want? Satoru was in a come for 15 years. During that time anything could happen. Kayo getting married wasn't really that surprising. The oposite would have been more surprising, all things considering.

The fact that she married Hiromi was unexpected since they hadn't talked to each other before. But again, 15 fucking years. More than enough time to get close and fall in love and whatever.

Don't get me wrong, Satoru and Airi might meet again. But I don't think Kayo getting married and having a child happened for that reason. It happened because the baby is a tangible representation of Kayo's future (heck, the baby's name is Mirai -future-). And the one who made it possible for Kayo to have a future was Satoru. So that baby is the materialization of his efforts. That's why it was so important that Kayo would show up with her baby in tow when he woke up from the coma. It's the literal prove that what Satoru just went through wasn't pointless.

And I can tell you those tears of his weren't bitter tears. They were tears of utter happiness.

Hype kids and shitposters will literally kill anything. That's why I wait for shows like this to be over for well over a year before I even begin to consider bothering with them. It's way more enjoyable and less noisy that way and I can just focus on enjoying shit or dropping it on my own terms. If there's one thing I've noticed in recent times and experiments anime is substantially more enjoyable when consumed at the maximum distance from it's shitheel fanbase.
