Your show had some creative ideas, but overall it was all really shitty. The writing sucks, there was no sense of character development, the story never gave us much reason to care for these characters, it was really bad and a waste of time overall. For something with some creativity it was really bland. Leorio was the only good character and he got taken out for more then half the series for muh doctorship

Every arc feels different in tone since the author makes a hiatus every three seconds. It takes a dive after a few arcs. The fanbase is awful and if they like something called the Chimera Ant arc, they are a loud child from Reddit. Also the creator Yu Yu Hakusho is married to Sailor Moon and plays Dragon Quest...a lot.

Everything is cliche, the difference is execution. Chimera Ant ties all of its character arcs to the themes of humanity and identity, and the writing makes those "cliche" developments great. Shoot's monologues combined with the imagery were just too good.

Actually in the manga Kite stuck around Gon for a while, he was the whole reason why Gon wanted to be a hunter in the manga, and also the biggest influence in his life. But judging from your comment you've only seen the 2011 anime so...

No he didn't, he just made an observation, and he was right. Killua did admit several times that he in fact didn't give a shit and was using Kite to control Gon. Gon never tried to abandon Killua or do things on his own, Killua left Gon alone several times, even when Gon wanted to stick together.
