Orange TV anime announced, 2016 summer.
Director: Hiroshi Hamasaki (Texhnolyze, Steins;Gate)
Script: Yuuko Kakihara (Chihayafuru, Jewelpet Sunshine)
Character Design: Nobuteru Yuki (Kids on the Slope, Space Battleship Yamato 2199)
Animation Production: TMS Entertainment and Telecom Animation Film
>One day, Takamiya Naho receives a letter written to herself from ten years in the future. As Naho reads on, the letter recites the exact events of the day, including the transfer of a new student into her class named Naruse Kakeru.
>The Naho from ten years later repeatedly states that she has many regrets, and she wants to fix these by making sure the Naho from the past can make the right decisions—especially regarding Kakeru. What's more shocking is that she discovers that ten years later, Kakeru will no longer be with them. Future Naho asks her to watch over him closely.
Fuck, was just making the post.
>Hit story "Orange" with high manga sales and a live-action movie is now also getting a TV anime.
I like the director (he did a good job with Terra Formars S1 despite the clunky source material) so I have hopes for this.
Cuck shitposting because alternate timeline future Naho has a kid with the guy front right in OP's image. Main timeline younger version gets with Kakeru (black hair, centre front).
The story was ok, the MC just seemed kind of dumb reading the letter's advice but still fucking it up somehow half the time. I thought this was a pretty good moment but the rest was unmemorable.
Thanks for letting me know this is worth passing so I don't have to waste my time.
today is a good day
The anime is just announced and we already have a shitposting rager, must be some kind of a record.
That said looking forward to seeing it animated and one of the best bros ever
sacrificing the love of his life to keep his bro alive
>Hamasaki no longer having to work at Liden fucking Films
Go Hamasaki go. Even if it means
you might not be working on Despera;_;
Haven't read the manga but will his "touch" add something, is his presence pertinent?
Not sure if she had an influence but I like Chihayafuru
2016 best year since 2007, again
I watched the live action movie and it wasn't too awful so I just hope the anime won't change as many things as the movie.
And that they get a proper VA for MC since the actress's voice in the movie was distracting. Too obvious that she was trying to do a high pitched girly voice that wasn't natural sounding at all.
>3 boys and 3 girls.
Oh don't be one of them please.
I remember reading this before it was on hiatus and kind of dropped it. It was alright. Standard shoujo drama affair aside from the concept.
Why is this even getting an adaption though? The manga ended a while ago
Even worse it's fucking manga on MAL.
I personally didn't like it as much after it came back after hiatus, and I got tired of Kakeru's gloominess, even though I could understand why he felt the way he did. The chapter trying to explain the time travel aspect was done poorly too. I say this as a fan who loved everything before the hiatus. I really liked the art too, and I don't like the what I see from the adaptations materials. The designs are a bit yaoi-ish for the male's faces, and I'd prefer a style that resembled Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun instead.
And Suwa best boy.
It will probably do fine. Most anime won't adapt finished works, because the anime are supposed to be advertisements. This will most likely work because it already has a stable and big fan base, and woman are likely to buy the anime because there are only a few shows for them to choose from.
>no forced drama
That`s why people say about this series. I don`t like shoujos, but I`m curious. It sems that orange is the kind of shoujo that people who doesn`t care about shoujos will enjoy. Maybe I buy the first volume.
No, it isn't. If you read even one shoujo manga nothing will come as a surprise. The time travel element allows the story be told in only five volumes instead of the usual >10 volumes. That's about the only 'unique' thing it has going for.
Again, if you've even read one shoujo manga you will sigh at some parts. For God's sake, it's the dark haired boy who has a troubled past. That happens in 90% of all shoujo romance manga.
>no forced drama
Near the end there's a little bit of that, but overall the drama was very low-key which was nice.
Yeah, I just checked the trailer myself and it was obvious she was forcing it. She's doing a great job as young Satoru in BokuMachi though. (And she was in Rurouni Kenshin live-action.)
This marks the end of the rare, comfy Orange threads.
Live action adaptions of anime and manga usually have bad actors and aren't really worth watching. I tried to watch Nodame Cantabile live action, and it just doesn't translate well. The only live action adaptation I can think of that is good is Umimachi Diary, and that's probably because it's directed by Koreeda, so it feels more like like a legit film rather than some tacky anime to live action adaptation.
Ichigo Takano is known for having issues meeting deadlines. They probably got mad at her, and at the time she took the easy way out and just sort of quit. Eventually she started working on it again after a very long hiatus. She was also working on another project concurrently, but I haven't been paying attention to it.
>>no forced drama
It's the exact episode of that.
It's a token shoujo trash series about alpha bad boys and cuckolding.
Don't listen to what the femwhores are spouting.
>Mc receives a letter from himself of the future
Meh, more overhype fujoshit.
The manga wasn't bad, per say, but there was a lot of room where it could've done better.
And I'm not sure if I enjoyed best guy getting cucked so hard.
Hopefully the anime is nice though.
Nana was fucking trash, literal slut wish-fulfilment for mentally deficient femanon whales.
>hurrr durrr life's so hard, I can't choose the right alpha bad boy for me ;_;
>I cucked him but he forgave me and is now raising a bastard child, this is soooooo deep and mature, a true shoujo masterpiece
Speaks volumes about shoujo as a whole if trash like Nana is considered one of the best ones.
>trying to pin your femwhore-orientated NTR garbage under Seinen
Nah, fuck off.
Shoujo and Josei stuff is bottom of the barrel shit and the worst that the industry has to offer.
These are all i have form CR.
>Japan Magazine Publishers Association Magazine Data 2008. The publication, which relies on information provided by publishers, categorizes Cookie as josei, but Shueisha's "S-MANGA.NET" site clearly categorizes that magazine as shōjo
but it is the best Shoujo manga ever
/a/ has a wrong impression of current shoujo art. Modern shoujo has a much more softer and rounder style than what they're used to; it's honestly all pretty cute. Even the most silliest fluffy shoujo has acceptable art.
Orange changed magazine because the mangaka couldn't handle the deadline and was pretty depressed due to pressure for a while. It changed to a semi-monthly magazine with a much looser release schedule and her new manga is a webcomic that only updates occasionally.
>manga aimed at men
Strong family values, themes of honor and bravery, mutual respect, explores what it means to be a good man and a father.
>manga aimed at women
Like, ohmygod, there's this beta who loves me but I can't pick between 3 different alpha bad boys who tried to rape me! Blooo blooo life is so hard. I wonder what I should do with my VAGINA today.
Does anyone need any more evidence that women are literally subhuman?
Have you ever read good shoujo or josei? Do you exclusively pick up the trash? It's like saying all shounen is Naruto or Bleach tier garbage.
>comically massive hands to pander to fujoshits
>alpha bad boy poo in loo shitskin long-haired faggot
>shit art overall
I thought you were trying to convince me that shoujo/josei can be good?
7 seeds has rough art but it's a masterpiece, your loss.
I'm male though
Why do some of you hate women so much? Do your mom not love you enough or something? Did that girl ignore or reject you?
There has to be some reason why some of you have such hate towards women. Don't be consumed by hate please.
