- Raw manlyness played unironically
- The author wanted to make an ode to manlyness while other shounen authors were forced into battle shounen (see Toriyama)
- Shingo Araki
- Seiji Yokoyama
- A young Shigeyasu Yamauchi on the team
- It was made on the 80s, so that mean Toei didn't go full retarded yet and kids show could get away with almost anything
>The author wanted to make an ode to manlyness
That didn't work out so good Juan
Standing around spamming special moves is not manly. It is probably the least action packed battle manga of all time
Fucking Shingo Araki was the best thing to ever happen to the franchise.
Seiji Yokoyama, as well. Saint Seiya may be an explosion of cliches and asspulls, but the OST is God Tier.
If only Kurumada could draw humans as well as he draws armors...
He can not draw armor, he can design armor
He's more Okawara or Liefeld than Kawamori or Kirby
But Saint Seiya is boring repetitive crap where everything is resolved the same way, especially during Poseidon's Arc.
"So now that you punched me you can't punch me again because it won't work for reasons, HERE'S MY PUNCH"
It's like little kids playing and saying Nu-uh!
No, it isn't.
Recycled animation all the way through, stupid backstories all over the place, formulaic and repetitive battles with the same characters over and over. Shun is always saved by Ikki, Shiryu gets naked and/or blind, Seiya is punched until ATHENA HELP and then he goes super saiyan. I don't remember what's Hyouga gimmick.
Same shit over and over. I can make a full season of Saint Seiya with paper cuts, recycled attack animation clips and a checklist of requierements for every character to do over and over again.
Good music doesn't save a shit anime.
What's with all the unsubtle homoeroticism in the show?
>Italy, Spain and France
The spics of yurop
Even Dragon Ball Z is better than both of them. It retained creativity and the asspulls were more impressive and unexpected, which translated into being more entertaining. All that filler screaming aside, DBZ is still more watchable.
You seem to lack reading comprehension.
The hero no-sells the villain's attack based on no other logic than "I saw it already", then proceeds to hit him with his signature move for the 12th time. How the fuck is this a well done asspull?
Pay in mind, it's not "I saw this attack already so I can dodge it" but "I saw this attack so I can stand there and be unharmed by it". It's completely fucking retarded.
It benefits from being based on mythology and constellations.
On the other hand, both of them bite them in the ass when they invent those filler-only Saints. Fucking Jellyfish Saints.
The Saint Seiya OST is one of the best ones ever made.
Cute guys, honorable battles and friendship.
