There is literally nothing wrong with rotoscoping.
>no qc on the QUALITY thats happening
>the lineart looks like hot garbo
Jesus Christ are they even trying? Not to mention the background is just a picture of a classroom put through an iPhones "painterly" filter
There are ways to do rotoscoping right, and this is not one of them.
Have you watched the movie, anon? It's quite good.
Fuck you, at least post Sakamichi or that scene from Cowboy Bebop.
>There is literally nothing wrong with rotoscoping
It's at least better then cgi. Still looks out of place most of the time.
The guy who wrote/directed it is a live-action director, so I doubt he really cared about shading and all that. It was very good, though, and if you're dismissing it just because of rotoscoping you're frankly an idiot.
If they'd drawn those characters, they'd still have looked like shit. The issue wasn't that it was rotoscoped, it was that they chose the ugliest people on earth to play cute and stylized characters.
Holy shit I just noticed too what the hell
For me, it's the "overacting" of the character movements. When it comes to motion capture, actors often have to exaggerate their movements for visibility. I usually think it's overdone.
Nobunaga Concerto was great
it was really great despite the awkward CG
at least until that one dude's heroic death that was lame and everything just falls apart as if the studio only just realized they had a couple episodes left to work with.
I watched that movie and fell in love with the characters. It really was rotoscoping done right and probably the most attractive I've seen 2.5D.
It's a shame because when I went to watch the original Alice and Hana film it was kind of boring and didn't seem to have the same charm. Needed more bro time between the girls and less ugly retarded boyfriend.
You should only use rotoscoping to capture the details of motion and not the details of the scene.
Then you should, you know, actually draw the frames' details.
That's more or less what Disney would do.
Fucking christ why dont you faggots go watch some J-Drama's instead?
I guess I was okay with the movie until the end. They really really drew out the crying scene. It was awkward as hell and I can't imagine what it must've been like to see it with others. It's the same with the dance scene, nice as it was. They drew things out way too much, which I guess comes from the fact that the movie was originally several short stories that they elongated to make one overarching story.
The rotoscoped one was very well-structured and paced.
I agree with you, only few j-dramas are really worth and enjoyable. South Korea is a way better doing dramas than japan and as far i know, they even got mangas and animation studios, japan is dommed. I even read somewhere that south korean economy would beat japan somehow in the future.
Most likely they were crunched for time and had to rush the scene out quickly. THe rest of the episode was animated normally, it was just a musical montage. Also SHAFT, they probably thought the different visual style for that sequence was unique or some shit.
