Why? Trigger is Imaishi's vision, his child. If there's one thing Aniplex is probably never doing it's toning it down since they've been going steady for nearly 3 years at this point with their just drown out all other shows by sheer volume, outspending and advertising strategy.

They're a Sony company and thus have the same fixation with trying to be number one, spending money to establish themselves as number one in advertising, bragging about being number one and again just drowning out the competition if necessary. Pretty much most of the core otakudom buys into their systems and advertising machine by now and they seem to be the first choice for every group looking to have an adaptation done since they can vastly out-advertise the competition and so they just have no reason but to keep charging straight ahead.

Sushio was very supportive of Yoneyama taking the role of character designer; he thought she powered-up a lot in recent years and that it was a perfect opportunity for her.
Yoneyama had fun designing the characters; she worked with Miwa Shirow’s originals and had suggestions from the director and Shigeto Koyama.
Sushio is helping Yoneyama with Kiznaiver’s production; he is working as general animation supervisor and doing key animation. “I’m overseeing the characters’ movements in order to correct and improve them and keep up the general quality of the show.“
Sushio’s involvement in Kiznaiver came from Yoneyama’s direct request. She went straight to him and asked for his help; Sushio says he couldn’t refuse because he found Yoneyama a great help through Kill la Kill as she was basically in charge of Satsuki. Sushio also found the project interesting and really liked the characters so he is having a lot of fun.
As for which characters from Kiznaiver they enjoy drawing; Yoneyama says that the most expressive characters like Tenga, Chidori and Nico are very fun to draw and that they’re the most popular among the animators but that she herself really likes characters that require more a nuanced and delicate touch such as Noriko and Katsuhira; she compares them to Satsuki in KLK. Sushio says that Tenga is a lot of fun, but he says he enjoys drawing them all and that his main objective is to be able to keep keep the art consistent while also making it lively and preventing it from looking too stiff. Yoneyama says that Sushio is complimenting her job and that they’re trying to make the characters on-model without being too restrictive on the animators.
