Best anime I've seen Bones animate, and I'm speaking from the perspective of someone who's watched at least 10 of Bones' stuff.

Dubs are shit and it attracts retards like flies, but in this rare exception it's still good.

Decent episodic show. Plays more like a director's showcase kind of show, and as such which episodes you like and which episodes aren't just merely okay is going to be heavily based on your taste. The way the show ties it together is a bit of hit and miss. It's nice to see how it's all connected, but it takes is silly, naive sense of the many-worlds interpretation a bit too seriously. Overall worth a watch.

It's weird to categorically the whole thing shit since it does a lot of different things.

I liked it, especially the music. I bought both soundtracks, the vinyl and even the cassette

Very fun to watch show, sucks /a/ panned it and you couldn't talk about it here. Good art and animation quality, really good art direction in some of them.

The dub is ok. It's not as good as the original voice acting is. Dub ruins a couple of moments in the show imo.

Decent. It's well written and the animation is fantastic, but it's just missing... something. Samurai Champloo, another episode show held my attention with a vice grip. This show, I got bored of it later on in S2.


Episode with Alisa (sp?) where he had to be a grown up for once was by far the best episode.

Season two, to me, had the most standout episode in that one where Dandy had to come to terms with his death. That was fantastic.

It's just I think overall the wacky premises started to wear thin near the end. Part of the problem I think is, that while they explained it all through the multiverse plotline, the fact that there was very little regard for continuity kind of hurt it.

Bebop, Champloo, while both episodic, still didn't frivolously allow characters to just die and then come back, or have outlandish plot threads that you know would never be brought up again outside that single episode.

I think it makes for an experience where you can "care" more.

That being said, I'm not saying what Dandy did was wrong. It was neat how it went outside the box, and there are a lot of strong individual episodes as a whole because it could do just whatever the fuck it wanted, but I don't think it created a very cohesive whole if you get my drift.

Somehow Dandy himself wasn't really that entertaining a character despite his appearance and design. Just a solid bro-tier guy, but for the way the show was designed he should have been far more lively/funnier. The way he was written just didn't really quite take advantage of what he could have been.

I just want to say that I'm kind of annoyed that a lot of music was left out of the soundtracks they released.

That's actually one of the episodes that sticks out in my mind as being pretty okay. Musical act at the end wasn't that great (in both Japanese and English), but I thought it was a fun one overall.

Weak ones were stuff like the shirts and underwear episode, and the one with the dog.

Maybe it's just me, but I didn't care that much about the Limbo episode. Can't quite put my finger on it, but didn't "click" with me like some of the other 'serious' episodes did.

I'm on like 15th or 16th episode. Most of time it seems too randumb for me, but there are some nice episodes, like with the girl that can move your conciousness to doll,surfing in space or robot that tried coffee for first time.Then on other end of scale you get shit like zombies, planet explosion and everyone disapearing (very first episode) or that one with multiple dandy's that was ok until the very end.
Animation is high tier.
