Then it turned into Gundam and that ending, bleh.

There are people on /a/ that haven't watched it with /a/ and missed Geass Sunday.

Overrated trash by oldfags with shit taste.

Overall I liked it. But there were a few things I didn't like:

Too many characters changed affiliation too frequently. It's not that I'm against it, but at the end I felt it was just too much.

Death of Shirley & Euphemia. While emotional, I thought it would be more interesting to see their interaction with Zero. Especially Shirley, she first found out, then she lost her memories, then there's a build up where she regains them and when she is finally planning on confronting Zero she dies.

Ambiguous ending. I hate these kind of endings, same with Oreimo. After reading arguments from both sides I've concluded it makes more sense if MC is with C.C at the end.

I would argue that there is so much evidence that he is alive rather than dead, that the "decide for yourself" is invalid.

In addition to that picture there's also Jeremiah who is loyalty on steroids. There's no reason he would let "Zero 2" kill Lelouch so easily unless he knew something, such as Lelouch has the code.

I don't understand why they didn't make it explicit that he survived. This is not a VN where the reader decides the route/ending. Those "Decide for yourself" endings is just because the writers are cowards and want to appease the whole fanbase.

I liked it a lot, it was one of the first sinnes i ever watched, so i might think Its better than it actualy is.
The second season kinda ruined it though. The first season was about mind games and outsmarting the opponent, but in R2 almost every single crucial fight was won by "oh look we got this new uppgrade ready just in the nick of time", wich is kinda boring.

The random plot swerves were stupid, but the show managed to be gloriously stupid thanks to a perfect storm of top tier voice work from FukuJun, a top tier soundtrack, just the right level of camp in the theatrics especially with noodle people artstyle lending itself perfectly to Lelouch's flamboyance, and memeability that /a/ ran with in an age when photoshop tennis was a thing. Also, [gg] memesubs.

I'll say this on that whole argument. Sunrise has tried to capitalize slightly on Code Geass, one of the more profitable anime of all time with that Akito shit, but realistically there is an absolute gold mine sitting right under their noses in creating an R3 set some time in the future with Lelouch still being alive and either starting a new revolution as some immortal mind controlling Charles/anti-Charles, or acting as CC to a new revolutionary.

How long they still have to do it, and if they even could pull it off, is pretty questionable, but the Code Geass name is not enough for sequels at this point, however a good Lelouch series would bring people back to anime that have dropped off of /a/ since 2010.

Remember how different S2 was from S1? Tone, style, etc.
Producers saw they had a cash cow on their hands, so they changed the show from a late-night adult-oriented timeslot to a prime-time kids/teen/family timeslot, essentially forcing a change in target demographic and forcing the creators to change the show accordingly.

The fact that Goro was able to pull off the same ending that (I believe) had been planned from the very beginning, and do such a fantastic job with it despite the changes is IMO the biggest credit to his talent as a director. One of my favorite directors.

S2 and S1 aren't equal, from episode to episode, but they're also not that different in tone and style, of all things, when considered as a whole.

The show did have to place less emphasis on a few things and meet standards for broadcasting at an earlier time slot, but it wasn't really for "adults" or less "over-the-top" to begin with.

Active Raid is fine, but it's a very different kind of show. You shouldn't expect it to be Geass Part II or whatever. It's a chill anime about wacky cops.
