I've been working on my backlog and I just finished Code Geass. What did /a/ think of it?
There are people on /a/ that haven't watched it with /a/ and missed Geass Sunday.
Overall I liked it. But there were a few things I didn't like:
Too many characters changed affiliation too frequently. It's not that I'm against it, but at the end I felt it was just too much.
Death of Shirley & Euphemia. While emotional, I thought it would be more interesting to see their interaction with Zero. Especially Shirley, she first found out, then she lost her memories, then there's a build up where she regains them and when she is finally planning on confronting Zero she dies.
Ambiguous ending. I hate these kind of endings, same with Oreimo. After reading arguments from both sides I've concluded it makes more sense if MC is with C.C at the end.
It should have had more incest and KallenXLelouch fucking.
We even have our special retard who named himself after MC.
Cornelia is best girl
Posting biggest semen demon of the show.
>tfw no empress cornelia waifu to rule the world with
Cornelia is for creating more royals, after all everyone else got nuked
this is how you realize that /a/ has a shitty opinion, when they bash anime with the highest of ratings, while praising ones that are objectively shit slice of life school anime that don't even have a real ending to it.
/a/ only likes edgy stuff or anime that don't have a real purpose/plot to it.
>I've been working on my backlog and I just finished Code Geass. What did /a/ think of it?
Shit characters. Also that Lelouch fuckup around the end was too forced and poorly written.
>he doesn't remember God-Emperor Lelouch's name
Google Goro's new type interview.
Don´t know about new type interview, found something else about the creator getting fucked over by time slot change, and execs bending him over to give him a good dicking. Goddamnit all. Don´t get me wrong, CG is still 11/10, but what could have been.
Y-you you shut your filthy mouth mate.
I would argue that there is so much evidence that he is alive rather than dead, that the "decide for yourself" is invalid.
In addition to that picture there's also Jeremiah who is loyalty on steroids. There's no reason he would let "Zero 2" kill Lelouch so easily unless he knew something, such as Lelouch has the code.
I don't understand why they didn't make it explicit that he survived. This is not a VN where the reader decides the route/ending. Those "Decide for yourself" endings is just because the writers are cowards and want to appease the whole fanbase.
To what purpose? Why have a character for so long only to kill her off without any payoff?
Not with a smile on his face. Even then I doubt it.
I liked it a lot, it was one of the first sinnes i ever watched, so i might think Its better than it actualy is.
The second season kinda ruined it though. The first season was about mind games and outsmarting the opponent, but in R2 almost every single crucial fight was won by "oh look we got this new uppgrade ready just in the nick of time", wich is kinda boring.
Then again i might be completelt wrong
Its been like 2 years since i watched it
The random plot swerves were stupid, but the show managed to be gloriously stupid thanks to a perfect storm of top tier voice work from FukuJun, a top tier soundtrack, just the right level of camp in the theatrics especially with noodle people artstyle lending itself perfectly to Lelouch's flamboyance, and memeability that /a/ ran with in an age when photoshop tennis was a thing. Also, [gg] memesubs.
Why not ? The guy is a fanatic, he could be satisfy to fulfill his duty to the very end, or it could be a smile of farewell. Besides, I think the studio confirmed that Lelouch was dead, so I don't understand why there are still doubts about it. And the plain fact that he's dead make the whole fucking ending. He has to die to make his plan work and solve everything, including his debt towards Suzaku. He could still trick him, but that would not be logical
It was the most /a/ anime ever made.
>studio confirmed that Lelouch was dead
They never explicitly said that he was dead. He did die however and in a sense Lelouch VI Britannia is dead, but R.R is not.
If you are convinced that he is dead you have to explain all the things here >>137320907 For example, it is already established that those with the code could "transfer memories" so to speak, if another person touched them. If Lelouch didn't have the code, why did Nunnally see them when she touched him?
>Why not ? The guy is a fanatic
You mean like Rolo? Who saved Lelouch even though he wanted to die and he told Rolo to fuck off.
The shit on the image are straws for the most of them. I mean come on, CC's eyes move only slightly, it's not like she's looking in the direction of the driver, she looks at the sky and express an emotion so there's nothing strange.
Lelouch being dead gives a sense of fulfillment and is a proper ending to the series, letting him alive is retarded plot wise.
As for Rolo, he was never obedient in the first place and is selfish, contrary to Jeremiah
Man, every time, right in the gut.
My greatest anime dream is to see Rebuild of Code Geass: You Are (Not) Fabulous, with Goro having completely creative control free of any producer meddling.
I'll say this on that whole argument. Sunrise has tried to capitalize slightly on Code Geass, one of the more profitable anime of all time with that Akito shit, but realistically there is an absolute gold mine sitting right under their noses in creating an R3 set some time in the future with Lelouch still being alive and either starting a new revolution as some immortal mind controlling Charles/anti-Charles, or acting as CC to a new revolutionary.
How long they still have to do it, and if they even could pull it off, is pretty questionable, but the Code Geass name is not enough for sequels at this point, however a good Lelouch series would bring people back to anime that have dropped off of /a/ since 2010.
That's true. CC being a new protag would be neat, but Lelouch would be retarded. And now I remember that some guys of the studio said that Lelouch had been put on Damocles and burnt in the sun as a symbol of hatred.
Remember how different S2 was from S1? Tone, style, etc.
Producers saw they had a cash cow on their hands, so they changed the show from a late-night adult-oriented timeslot to a prime-time kids/teen/family timeslot, essentially forcing a change in target demographic and forcing the creators to change the show accordingly.
The fact that Goro was able to pull off the same ending that (I believe) had been planned from the very beginning, and do such a fantastic job with it despite the changes is IMO the biggest credit to his talent as a director. One of my favorite directors.
Didn't realize he had a show airing this season, I gotta go pick up Active Raid now.
I'm still calling 2020 as the year of our glorious leaders return.
He never spoke about wanting to make four seasons.
If they do make a Rebuild of Code Geass it'll just be an alternate version of the story. The one we already have got the intended ending, so any changes would be something extra, period.
S2 and S1 aren't equal, from episode to episode, but they're also not that different in tone and style, of all things, when considered as a whole.
The show did have to place less emphasis on a few things and meet standards for broadcasting at an earlier time slot, but it wasn't really for "adults" or less "over-the-top" to begin with.
Active Raid is fine, but it's a very different kind of show. You shouldn't expect it to be Geass Part II or whatever. It's a chill anime about wacky cops.
Yeah, rebuild would be a shit idea for Code Geass, the whole idea of the series was to keep time moving forward rather than living constantly in the past or being stuck in an unchanging present.
Rebuild would legitimately betray the whole concept.
Why is CC so fucking peerfect? I'm still obssesed with her after seven years or so...
>mfw I recently fapped to a doujin of lelouch mindbreaking her
Watched both seasons over the past few days. Didn't have any idea really what the fuck the end game was supposed to be. Lelouch became a faggot towards the end, and Suzaku was a little bitch the entire time.
>Princess your in love with instigates a genocide against your race and participates in it personally.
>FUCK YOU ZERO
This was before he knew about the geass.
