What happened /a/? How did DEEN make the AOTY while KyoAni made the WAOTY? Are we witnessing the revival of DEEN and the downfall of KyoAni?
Come on now
Under no definition is season 1 a harem.
You need at least 3 persons to like the main character romantically for it to be a harem.
At this point, and for the rest of the season, the number is zero.
Kyoani was on the downturn for a long time, its like with great athletes where there's a subtle decline for years until there's just a career ending failure that makes you realize holy shit they actually sucked for a while and I was blinded by their reputation
That's a really retarded way of being in denial.
It has been harem since Vol. 1. Even Kazuma gave her harem roles long before Megumin or Darkness confessed.
Just accept that it's a harem and move on.
It's so meaningless to say this when the season itself is only about halfway done. It would be AOTY of all of fucking 10% of this year so far. Not very impressive; chances are high multiple Spring shows will outdo it.
Not to mention, you are bound to draw fire from Boku Dake fans for the (so-far) AOTY.
Why do some fanboys always pretend that their harem of the season is somehow not a harem?
Especially when it's such a clean cut "one male protag surrounded by many girls" type?
Jesus Christ, it being good, focusing more on comedy and such doesn't somehow change it into non-harem.
This, DEEN could not simply shovel out shit flop nonstop for the rest of time and just be fine that way; something had to give or they wouldn't make it as a studio.
KyoAni's boondoggle comes from their listening to fan feedback/suggestions on what they wanted out of a show, and for some reason they thought Phantom World fit their descriptions since they wanted a fanservicey harem-y/action show. I guess it shows KyoAni has valid proof to never listen to fans again. It is also possible, imo, that a bunch of trolls infiltrated KyoAni's fan response and essentially trolled KyoAni into being convinced this would be a hit.
Maybe you should watch one episode of a show before you decide to shitpost about it?
Nobody asked for another huge-tit ecchi.
Nobody asked for random action scenes which don't go anywhere.
Nobody asked for a harem with a protag who has no character or presence.
And especially nobody asked for the worst case of token loli.
It's their fucking fault, and now they drink their stupidity.
>Kazuma is surrounded by beautiful girls interested in him
>sexually harasses them
>thinks of them as harem members
Are you an idiot?
Even in Vol. 2 he had Darkness scrubbing his back and him locked up with Megumin in the toilet, are you saying that those are not harem comedy scenes?
Why is that hard for you to accept that Konosuba has always been a Harem, even if a good one.
under the definition that it's a party of only one male and many female companions. Romance or not, that makes it a harem. It's a great show regardless, not sure why people get so bent about what are already flimsy as shit genre definitions
One guy, surrounded by many girls.
Also it's pretty clear that the girls have their harem role.
Why the hell are you trying to think up your own definitions of harem to actually disprove a text-book fantasy harem series being harem?
I'm just wondering whether how Konosuba could be possibly even better than it is right now. Sure, there are a lot of DEEN quality moments in the show, but it actually sort of complements the overall silly nature of the show. I'm also not sure why there seem to be many who has a distaste for Konosuba. I bet over half of the people who just call it generic power fantasy haremshit haven't even watched the first episode and purely shitpost because their favorite show isn't doing as well.
No one even watches rakugo. You have to be a natural born mark to think adult protagonist and high numbers are the sign of patrician tastes* Nip pandering always does well with jap audiences. That garbage military ad is high ranked too
DEEN makes meme of the season, KyoAni makes eternal classics.
Past this season everyone will forget about such thing as KonoSuba existed, meanwhile KyoAni shows become better with time as good wine, so they dont rush for immidiate gains, but polish their works to deliver them in exceptional quality so that would not be ashamed of later generations watching it.
Every KyoAni "flop" (except Munto) became a classic that ages well and gains recognition and appraisal with time.
Nichijou, Tamako Market, even KnK - which in hindsight is very worth watching.
If KyoAni wanted fast gainst, they`d do Amagi again which was just like KonoSuba - otaku oriented easy humor with low budget.
>random studios happy for selling 1000 BDs ..
>while KyoAni sells anime license to Disney Channel
>One bad show means the downfall of a studio.
1. Phantom World isn't even WOTS.
2. This bait is awful.
I agree, except with your thoughts about Phantom World, as it IS indeed another Amagi, big boob ecchi with sloppy otaku humor, which thankfully people had about just enough lately.
Nah, as it stands atm Phantom World is basically a kid`s show - and pretty decent at that, however not appealing to adult otaku audience.
The problem is though, that LN is not for kids so it might be mistake adapting it like that while LN is more raunchy material.
You can have fun all you want, but that doesn't mean that the anime is actually good.
It's the same 'stuck in a fantasy MMO' crap we've had for 10 years, it's not creative or well-made in any way or shape
>Why the hell are you trying to think up your own definitions
By that retarded logic if you are in a room with more than 3 girls you are in a harem.
I'm not talking about some shounen trash like one piece or naruto with 'token' bath scenes and little girls. You need to watch it to know, the SoLs they're formally called. They're comedies with pretty animation styles, funnier than anything you could find on your local television right now
>basically a kid's show
No, it isn't anymore than ABP. It's just that it is horrible in every aspect, but definitely they tried to target otaku.
Too bad they have no fucking ideas how to do that anymore.
How many shows this season are all-ages and family friendly you can watch together with your 6yo daugheru on big screen in living room?
Akagami (for slightly older shoujo audience)
Luck and Logic (shit)
Haruchika (also it`ll be boring for kids)
Making mainstream shows pays in the end long term.
>No, it isn't anymore than ABP.
No its not. ABP is by no means family friendly - Gotoh made sure to write is as adult perspective parody on "sweet" theme. This shows writing aimed at adults exclusively, so are most jokes and stuff.
>It's just that it is horrible in every aspect,
Except it gets good character, nice soundtrack, good animation, impressive direction making every episode being emotionally hooking.
If they wanted to try to target Otaku, they would have not toned down the novels so much.
Its bad "battle harem" if you expect one, but good Disney/NHK show for appropriate audiences.
Stop forcing this shit. Phantom World is better animated and directed that 95% stuff this season. The fact that it does not appeal to smelly fat otaku like yourself is indication of its quality.
It is a late night show, aimed at otaku, and that is a fact, no matter what kind of retarded shit you're forcing, and the fanservice of the big breasted girl makes it very clear.
Assuming your still the same guy konosub is slice of life and a pretty funny comedy. Just because the threads are constant harem shitposting doesn't mean thats the reason its popular
>pitch the fanbase of seasonal designated shitpost anime against the black horse of the season
300 replies 49 images omitted.
Now post this shitty false flagging every day until it sticks, not that you need that much effort to troll neo-/a/.
I have fucking watched it, but I never claim that it's AOTS material.
Don't sugarcoat it, this is a shitty anime and you know it, whether it is funny or not is a whole different subject
DEEN can only do comedy.
>the one time you want DEEN to do a S2 is the only time they don't
>they're also animating the other AOTY contender this season, Shōwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjū
Holy fuck i've been loving this show. How i never noticed DEEN was making it i have no-idea, this really is thier season.
