>>137295435 >The only thing that was somewhat interesting was the tampons bullshit. What in the world are you talking about? The only interesting thing there was that apparently applicator-less tampons still exist.
>>137296372 There's been at least one popular anime each season. Normalfags jump on it because anime is cool now. Also I seriously think /wsr/ has been causing more people to come here instead of the opposite.
>>137297337 You're remembering the origins of "chinese cartoon" incorrectly if you think using it is indicative of someone being a "crossboarder". Also, I've been on 4chan since it only had a handful of boards and I've always browsed multiple boards, "crossboarding" isn't anything new.
>>137297456 I think eventually it will reach an equilibrium, it will be a struggle while the younger generation has to hold up the older generation, but it should reach a point were the number of old people and young equalize.
>>137296401 >Back in the bubble economy of the 1980s, unmarried girls over 25 were called "Christmas Cake" -- a term for something you throw out after the season has passed. So, the bubble started this meme
>>137297635 they won't i did humanitarian work on japan, countless old people left to die in their own shit because the bills are too high, their health system sucking more dick than a gay man in spain and social shit. let the country die, korea will soon follow anyway
>>137297750 But anon, that's a good thing. Old people dying faster helps Japan immensely since it means less old people relying on the system and the younger generations to take care of them. Having shit healthcare and old people dying in droves will help them reach equilibrium faster.
>>137297785 You vastly underestimate how conservative and xenophobic Japanese politicians are.
That's not how demographic transitions work. Medical advances means you have a lot more older people living much longer, and the birthrate is going to continue to decline even more. The current generation of middle-aged folks are eventually going to become seniors, but the number of young people is going to be at an even lower ratio by the time that happens.
Japan already is trying various programs to get health care providers for its elderly by getting nurses from countries like the Philippines in the past, but their language system is so foreign that people can't learn it to work with its citizens. Now they're trying Vietnam, but the thing is Vietnam also has an alphabet based on Anglo languages, and there's no way they're going to learn the language at a level competent enough for such a job. Meanwhil China's population is fuckhuge, and they're getting bolder and bolder in terms of geopolitical aggression in that region. Japan is going to be fucked soon, and U.S.-niisan won't be able protect forever.
>>137297876 they are still people, not a number in a paper if only you saw what i've seen, the despair, anger and sadness on their eyes its not fair to die like that, at the very least they deserve going down clean.
There's going to be so few young people, that Japan will be forced to accept immigrants under worse terms than now just to do jobs that old people no longer can. I wonder if weeaboos will have first pick on jobs since a bunch of them learned moon and are mostly civilized.
Do you really think that having people visit your country for a very limited amount of time as an incentive for economic and political purposes is the same as welcoming people there permanently? Germany and Hitler held the Olympics in their country. Do you think they weren't racist as fuck about Blacks being there?
>>137298030 >There's going to be so few young people, that Japan will be forced to accept immigrants under worse terms than now just to do jobs that old people no longer can. Not really. Why do you think that Japan is the world leader in robotics? They'd rather just replace workers with robots than bring in immigrants, and they'll probably be better off for it in the long run.
>>137297286 Dating was always a strain, marriage was often loveless and abusive, and having kids was always a tremendous hassle however far back you go. Yet people continued to have children.
The big difference from before is that it's no longer a financially sound decision. Extra children no longer mean extra labor for the farm or greater income from their relatively secure existence as salarymen but expensive unemployed/poorly paid leeches who are more likely to drain your savings than support you later in life.
Attacking feminism or providing financial incentives for giving birth won't change the fact that the economy just isn't able to support any more people comfortably. Declining birth rates/population was and is inevitable.
Also, there's so much more you can do with your free time that the time spent on childcare seems like a complete waste.
>>137298030 Seems some of them think they can make smart enough robots/enough of them to replace a lot of the menial work.
The thing I wonder though is the gap for trained/untrained labor markets gets even wider. If you got some lib arts degree you quickly find useless but can't even get a job at Starbucks because Coffeebot 9001s do almost everything and are cheaper to run than paying a human, then what? Most nips go to uni but many don't, and if lots of service jobs aren't doable anymore then well, shit.
People have been fearmongering about the repercussions of such scenarios for a while now, but I think we'll see how they play out in Japan before anywhere else. In most other countries there will always be kids/teens/dropout faggots to fill those positions but in a few decades in Japan they may have a real need to experiment with more robot labor.
>>137296495 It's sad really, i remember when even mentioning the word anime in public, in any context whatsoever, was a social death-sentence. But now, there are fucking youtubers making reaction vids of shows for fuck's sake. I swear to god, the normies have everything handed to themselves nowadays it's disgusting.
>>137298187 >The big difference from before is that it's no longer a financially sound decision. Extra children no longer mean extra labor for the farm or greater income from their relatively secure existence as salarymen but expensive unemployed/poorly paid leeches who are more likely to drain your savings than support you later in life. You're right, I was trying to point to problems that exacerbate this is all.
>Attacking feminism or providing financial incentives for giving birth won't change the fact that the economy just isn't able to support any more people comfortably. Declining birth rates/population was and is inevitable. I wasn't trying to attack feminism per se (though there's plenty wrong with the modern western variant of it), I think increased agency for people is overall a good thing, but it has lead to a change in culture that is overall bad for the family unit. Before people would stay together because their culture/religion/society demanded it, whether they were happy or not. Now people are much more concerned with their personal happiness than appeasing society, and that's fine, but it does have it's drawbacks.
>>137298271 >I'm assuming robots still won't be good enough in time. Robots have already taken over most manufacturing jobs in Japan, and other jobs are becoming more and more automated. The simple truth is that no country need loads of poor uneducated people to work in their factories anymore. The only reason any nation would, is because they aren't technologically or socially developed enough to switch to a primarily robotic workforce. We are probably in the beginnings of another work revolution similar to the Agricultural and Industrial revolutions, where the working class begins to shift out of industry and more and more jobs become automated.
>>137298285 I was thinking more of skilled labor jobs that aren't practical for robots. When shit breaks, a person is usually needed to fix it. Water mains, power lines, etc. all require people to work on them and they already use heavy machinery but it's not an old guy's job for the most part.
>>137298456 As some one who's had to help raise his brothers, as well as babysit other peoples kids routinely, real kids are a huge pain in the ass and I would never subject myself to that, even if did somehow want to be with a 3DPD. There is absolutely no upside to having children in this day and age outside of satisfying your biological imperatives.
>>137298431 It's almost impossible to stop or reverse the erosion of communities from the effects of the free market. People are going to have to learn to deal with the new reality.
I, for one, am glad for the increased individualism and the subversion of mob logic. The death of whatever traditional community units was good for humanity as a whole. Will continue to be good. We'll see what new forms of organization the future brings.
Where did I say they they needed to bring in Muslims or the like in the post? I even put in there that they might be right in being so xenophobic and that they wouldn't want to end up like Germany or Sweden. Learn to read before you shitpost.
Japan does have an program attempting to bring in highly skilled workers (e.g., academics, researchers, engineers, etc.), but who in their right mind would try to given Japan's current situation, not to mention how difficult it would be to learn the language. And even if you did, the country's work culture is so fucked, and they'd never truly try to integrate you into the country.
>>137298894 Their economy is already in the shitter, and I don't think defense is much of an issue. War between industrial nations in this day and age has just become too expensive for anyone to bother with, and I don't see that changing anytime soon, and even if does, warfare is also becoming rapidly automated. Why bother recruiting soldiers when you can just have drones do that same job?
Do you think they'd just sit there and let it happen? If anything, facing such an inevitability would force their hand. And it's like they even have to directly get involved. They have their retarded little cousin North Korea that could cause a shitstorm at any second, forcing industrial and post-industrial nations that have interest in that region of the world to get involved, whether they wanted it or not.
>>137299131 They'll do what Chines always do, they'll turn on each other and kill each other till someone comes out on top, hopefully they'll be better managers of China than the Chicoms have been. China has a very long history of breaking apart, killing each other, and then unifying again.
>>137299210 >Do you think they'd just sit there and let it happen? If anything, facing such an inevitability would force their hand. Hardly anyone in leadership positions ever see an economic bubble before it pops, and even they do, they never know when, and trying to stop it usually isn't economically or politically viable (no one wants to be remebered as the guy who shrunk the economy on purpose) it's the reason why they keep happening. Not to mention that China is not in any position to be doing a whole lot militarily, most of their manpower has to be devoted to policing their country and protecting it's borders. What force projection it could reasonably produce in the next few decade won't be enough to wage war with a significantly industrialized nation, especially not one with western allies like Japan, unless there's a serious paradigm shift in global politics or economics, or some historical wild card. As for North Korea, they're about as dangerous as ant is to elephant. They make a lot of noise, but they'd never make a serious move as they know China won't back them up, since China generally likes trading with all the people NK hates.
>>137298408 He's not entirely incorrect. It's mostly because of people being told, over and over again, that they can have everything they want; that's the age we're in; that's the joy of being born in a first world country. However, for most, the money just can't appear from working alone, it has to come from credit cards etc. Household debt is ridiculous. I would wager many people are in debt while being on food stamps at the same time, and still flashing around some luxuries. And so what if they do? Life is miserable anyway.
It's the fault of a fucked up economic system which has its incentives and goals completely at odds with reality. Massive consumption fueled by debt, at every level, not to mention built-in obsolescence to keep the cycle moving forward.
People spending beyond their means, from the individual to the institution, is what keeps the whole house of cards standing. It's hypocritical to criticize this consumption as if it weren't a functional necessity.
>>137298798 People with careers and degrees GO to japan, trendy inmigration-suicide laws or not, The problem is that your kind can't diferenciate "xenophobia" from self-respect for your own culture. >Japan does have an program attempting to bring in highly skilled workers (e.g., academics, researchers, engineers, etc.) You just answered your own fucking question, you twat, oh wait... >but who in their right mind would try to given Japan's current situation, not to mention how difficult it would be to learn the language. And even if you did, the country's work culture is so fucked, and they'd never truly try to integrate you into the country. Last time i checked, 1.000 subhumans organised a rapefest in one of the "progresive" countries that applied your politics. tl;dr: eat a cock
>>137299546 Yeah it's a real shame, we have this huge economic systems, fucked by generations of "Must haves" and "Keeping up withe Jones" type attitudes, that have lead to hyper-consumption, and there is probably no way to fix it with out something really painful, either a cultural/political revolution or a complete economic breakdown.
>make post to trigger angry autists >he spends the next 6 hours of his life spamming images to force the thread past bump limit >just make another post as soon as he's done >mfw 4 posts a day is all it takes to make some autist waste his entire life spazzing out on /a/
>>137299946 This thread started out as shit. I haven't been to the others. Were they any good? >>137299953 Either way it's looking like were headed for a population crash but the issue for survival there is all of those nukes and shit just sitting around waiting for some nutcase to use. Resource wars really could end it.
Salutations, my friends. This is the REAL hero of /a/ speaking, with a friendly reminder that spamming and avatar fagging is something you should report, trust your mods to deal with this threat. Thank you for reading.
Shouldn't have kids with that mindset. You can't honestly expect all kids to be cute like they are in your anime.
You define character's personalities, but you discover people's. If your kid grows up with a personality that you didn't exactly expect them to have as you imagined and you get frustrated with that or constantly force them to change, they'll just grow up to resent you.
>>137295275 Woah woah woah, I'ma just assume this wasn't a Galko thread to begin with. I've seen real threads that started in worst ways without getting this much shitpost. Mods better start perma banning that bratposter already to begin with. Galko threads been perfectly fine till today, and it's going to be sad that they get destroyed like this by one crybaby.
>>137301831 What does this even mean? Are you saying that because the Japanese value their culture they deserve to have immigrants, because immigrants need to live more than Japan needs its culture? Is there some meaning to this, or am I misinterpreting you? I'm genuinely curious.
Yes, and they are importing nurses from neighboring countries, but the problem is that none of those country's native languages is similar to Japanese. Only China shares kanji, and even then that doesn't necessarily make it easy to learn Japanese. And not like China would be willing to give up its trained professional workforce to its rival.
