His hair is terrible, but his manga is mostly good.
Why does /a/ never talk about his work?
>le traced backgrounds man
It's called "herbivore guy" in Japanese standard, and it happens when otaku guy starts to be interested in 3d women. Not a few number of Japanese women love herbivore guys (it is not even a meme) but I think he just failed to be alpha.
To this day, I don't get what was the point of that boy dying such a stupid death. The story was focused more in him and his band than the girl, made no sense. I thought Asano was going to do the "they mature together" route, but no, let's fucking kill this kid for no reason, besides drama.

I wonder if they have some kind of japanese r9k where they bitch about it.
I think it was just to show the two possible outcomes when you face disillusionment - you can suck it up and do something unglamorous and unsatisfying to live, or give up and kill yourself
The story of the doctor who was pushing his son too much choked me up a bit.
Yes, my mistake. I should have explained that way.
I don't even try to understand the plot, I just enjoy the ride.
Of course we prefer the manga that's shilling to the moe-loli base.
the story was really easy for me that i understand everything but was really mad at myself when they announce the fact that they were brother and sister and couldn't figure it out before that when it was too obvious.
Since "Herbivore guy" became more than a meme word in Japan, now it contains both negative meaning and positive meaning depends on context.
Some people indicates faggots who pretend asexual but are secretly interested in girls (especially in sexual way). Some people think they are cool guys who reject traditional value and have skill to befriend with girls.
>To be fair, most asian men look like girls.
u wut m8
they are ugly as sin though
I kind of wasn't sure how this was going to work out. Both characters are so weak and prone to failure, I wasn't sure if either would be able to commit premeditated murder or suicide.
most of it is preachy shit targeted at millenials.
Personally I think the way he does backgrounds is smart and its not like he is tracing off of someone elses photos, he goes and takes the pics himself, so it is still his work.
Still think his stuff is just preachy. Demons dededededede destruction has been interesting at least
So who's going to have the nerve to walk into their local bookstore and buy this?
I can access it right now, I guess they don't block it anymore. 2D loli H is still banned, but only if it's considered as pornography, and I doubt that the girl by the sea would be.
I can still imagine the conversation between Vertical's marketing department and Waterstones' buyers, though:
>Vertical: Yo, want this cool manga for the cool kids?
>Buyer: Maybe, what's it about?
>Vertical: Oh, you know, the usual angsty teen shit
>Buyer: OK, I'll take 1K copies
6 months later:
>Buyer: JEEZUS, somebody shrinkwrap that shit before it goes on the shelves. Now where's my tissues?
Just finished reading this and I kinda want to think I understood what the fuck happened but I know im missing some details. Nice read though. I went back and read the prologue again and was able to pick up and connect some things in the end.
