>>137268302 Hyped because Maeda was involved, Key was involved and PA Works is a big studio. The show was talked about a lot before we knew a single thing about it, it was always destined to disappoint a lot of people.
It wasn't popular though, literally everybody (except me and probably a small group of other morons with shit taste) hated the second half of the show
>>137268391 Yeah the first episode triggered everyone's "holy shit we get a good edgy power fantasy show with an unashamedly dickish MC" alarms. It didn't help that they went and did it again in the middle of the season just to tease everyone again, only to end with that fucking drugs scene.
>>137268195 Pretty sure she didn't get raped. As for bullying, she clearly took it even though she could've fought back easily. She took responsibility for her actions instead of abusing her power to get everything she wants. Perfect girl material right there.
>>137268302 It wasn't really a trainwreck until the end and that's only if you didn't expect a key ending. Despite this, there were other good aspects of the show hence why it's popular and pretty much mostly praised everywhere else.
>>137268874 Yeah, she was stripped and beaten. Of course she's going to have bruises. That doesn't necessarily mean she was sexually assaulted. They're called shitposters, anon. There are still a bunch of kids still insisting it happened by posting screenshots and get proven wrong every single time. Some of them going as far as to editing screenshots with MS paint.
>>137268391 The first episode held a lot of promise, and genuinely served to subvert a lot of shit we come to expect from most super powered anime. The main character was an edgy retard, but he got punished for all of the shit he pulled in the first episode, which was genuinely refreshing to me. The characters seemed interesting and I really wanted to see more of it. It started losing me by the third episode , however when they really tried to force the drama in typical KEY fashion.
Even though it was trash I genuinely thought the second half of the show was at least more entertaining than most of the first half, baring the first episode. It was batshit insane but I can't exactly say i knew where the hell it was going to go each episode. The last episode of the series was so hilariously paced I'd recommend watching the whole show just for that whole train wreck.
Also, even if she lacked development, Nao was a cute girl, and I wish she was in a better show.
>>137269099 Pooh got beaten senselessly as well for no reason. That doesn't mean he got raped. Just stop already. It was the shit writing that's to blame here, using cheap tricks to disgust the viewer.
>>137269166 You blind, son? They literally had the words KEY up at the start and end of every single episode. How the hell did you miss out on that? They even have the words KEY up on every single poster.
>>137269352 I'm simply stating the facts. Not as bad as being a deluded prick, fantasising a fictional character getting raped then spending half a year going through the effort to convince everyone it happened.
>>137269359 I liked what they were trying to do with the last episode, don't get me wrong. I mean there were a lot of issues I had with some of the writing in the second half, but the concept of the last episode really worked and could have been an interesting second season for the show. If it was paced better and not a single episode I think it could have worked... With a bit of tweaking of course. I think that's what really gets me about this show. It was a train wreck but it had elements of a really good show buried deep inside of it.
The threads with this show, at the very least, were some of the most entertaining I've ever had while watching a weakly series, hands down. By far made it one of the most memorable things that season, even that year.
>>137269514 I actually viewed the show the same way as you. The last episode wasn't even THAT bad. It was rushed as fuck and would've benefited a lot if they expanded it to 2 or 3 episodes, giving Nao development while she lives a normal life. It would've made her character a bit more believable at the end but that didn't bother me that much.
>>137269564 Again, they literally had the words "An Original" on every synopsis and poster. How did you miss that out?
>>137269613 >some edgy retard suddenly wants to become super powered jesus, and take in everyone's sins(powers) just because he saw the error of his ways? Calm down edgelord.
