Why is Rebuild so much worse than the original? Is it because Anno is mentally stable now?
so where do you guys think they're going with this anyway?
i think they're trying to play around with the whole "hedgehog's dillema" motif what with the whole trying to save people and then making it worse thing but i dont really know how that's going to come to a resolution
>Is it because Anno is mentally stable now?
If anything I think rebuild is evidence his mental health has declined. It takes a madman to come up with what Rebuild has devolved into.
>Why is Rebuild so much worse than the original? Is it because Anno is mentally stable now
You answered your own question anon
No, it's because he doesn't give a fuck about Eva outside of it being a cash cow for his Toku ventures. Look at all the interviews; every single one with his staff members says that Anno more or less does nothing other than providing a few plot points.
>so I can be angry for a month.
lucky bastard, I can't talk though I didn't see it till 2010 I feel sad for those who've been waiting since 2007 it's almost been a decade so I can guarantee people have died waiting for this quadrilogy
>so I can guarantee people have died waiting for this quadrilogy
Very few people hate the rebuilds for legitimate reasons, everyone else that hates them just hates them because they didn't get what they wanted, just like when evangelion first ended, they were mad because they didnt get what they want, and just like last time, a fifth movie is going to happen some time after the rebuild movies happen thats going to make people flip shit and consider it the second coming of christ, again, because thats what always happens.
Some examples of legitimate reasons to not like the movie are: less character development smooshed into a small time frame, the crimson chin, or voice actors and actresses being changed.
Damn, this post made me grunt a bit
wait what if that's the curse asuka's talking about
The biggest turd is the loop thing they are doing, it shits so hard on the original message it's unbelievable
In a way it's not. In the original series Shinji constantly repeats the same mistakes over and over again and we see him do that in the rebuilds as well.
In NGE he is unable to change and when he does it was already too late.
The same can be said for RoE but in a different way, Shinji tries to change himself and adapt, but ultimately ends up always making things worse for himself and everyone else.
And at this point in his development he's realized that and probably believes it's best for him to do nothing.
Either way everything will repeat and he'll be caught in this endless cycle of suffering emphasizing his uselessness in the entire situation.
>people thinking Anno do this because he is not good anymore
Rebuild exists just to make tons of money and this is a part of Anno's plan. The delay between the movies is also here to make money during the longest time possible. With this cash, Anno literally save anime. Animator's expo is also here to show that there are still a lot of good animators in Japan and it's a preview of the future of the industry saved by one man for the second time.
The state of the industry is one of Anno's priority, he made Evangelion partially because of this, he really wanted it to be a hit.
>Kaworu says he'll meet Shinji again soon before he died
>there are still more moon coffins to go
I want off this ride.
>In NGE he is unable to change and when he does it was already too late
The point of NGE is that it's never to late
"Anywhere can be paradise" and all that jazz
Saying you fucked up and just resetting everything is just running into the fantasy again
>The point of NGE is that it's never to late
Yeah, but that doesn't change the fact that Shinji overcame his emotional instability after/during the worlds destruction.
By that point can you honestly say it's not too late?
I mean I do agree with it to some degree because in my opinion I saw EoE's ending as a more positive one, but it doesn't change the fact that Shinji made mistakes that costed him Humanity (or at least those who didn't realize they were in "false worlds" and didn't eventually escape)
>mfw anno abandoned 3.0+1.0 for tohu gojira
/tv/ wins /a/ btfo
It doesn't he still fucked up in gigantic proportions.
Everyone was telling him to NOT do what he was doing, and he did it anyway, just because it "worked out" in 2.0, so Shinji'd get fucked anyway he acted. its NGE from a diferent angle, same shit happens, not just in the same way
I remember hearing that he had been left pretty devastated following 3.0 and that's why he wanted to make Godzilla next rather than 3+1. Maybe it's the realization of what a fuck up it actually was.
Maybe he can turn his disappointment into fuel for the next Eva file so it can be EoE tier.
>3.0 + 1.0 This (IS) the End
and to top it off he'' take the last 5 mins worth of frames in the film and burn them before commiting seppuku
