Hello, What has everybody been reading lately?
Just read Neighbor 13,Kengan Asura and Yukikaze Meiji Ishu
Neighbor 13 was really interesting, Great art and was a lot like Ichi the Killer. Kengan is battle manga Baki Bullshit but it's a really fun read and Yukikaze was pretty shit but readable
I can rec you some manga if you need something to talk about, friendo
read Hajime no Ippo after enjoying the anime. my first manga ever too. bretty good shit
Oh cool the latest meme manga for people to hype and shit on.
Throw away your trip and name
Read from Batoto, Madokami or scanlator's websites
Be more neutral in your way of talking
and you'll fit and you'll be able to talk about your manga in an unconstructive manner on /a/, welcome here
What's wrong with Helck?I can agree that it is a bit hyped but it's enjoyable. What manga do you like then?
Thanks, buddy. I appreciate the help but I've been on this website for quite a while and I do infact use batoto. I read my manga on my phone in bed so I don't have any pages from Neighbor 13 on my PC. I would really suggest you do a bit of thinking or give somebody the benefit of the doubt before going on a crusade about MUH MANGAREADER
Nothing wrong with Helck (haven't read it thought) it's the hype that kinda kills these popular series because people try to push them onto others too much and turn them into a meme, and it becomes shit storm from then on.
You're pretty much saying I hate it because of the fanbase and not the content which is nonsense.
I didn't say I hated it or that YOU hated it, and it's not nonsense, don't try to play it like it ain't a common thing or like you're better than that. It happens all the time and it's annoying. It's not ab out the quality of the work it's about people or me particularly losing interest or being put off from reading something because of the meme it becomes.
can you rec me some good manga?
I've read Berserk, Jojo, One Piece, Uzumaki, the FLCL one, Shaman King, Yu Yu Hakusho, and thats about it
Because I don't know what JOHJ stands for? I likely know what it is I just don't know the abbreviation or whatever, the other possibility is that I never give two shits about the popular flavor of the month /a/ gets hyped about.
Haven't read it in a while. Was popular on /a/ for a bit. It's decent if you like Gantz and the type of manga that puts it's characters through a meat grinder
Please at least google Johj next time
Did you like Uzumaki? Read more Ito. If you like the Ito stuff you read. Check out Suehiro Maruo. Most of that stuff is so entry level that it's really hard to rec things. Maybe Hunter X Hunter,Battle Angel Alita/Gunm and Getter Robo?
I really REALLY love Drifting classrom and Kazuo Umezu. You might like him if you liked Uzumaki (One of Ito's worst works IMO)
Oh it's fucking Terrar Formars, yeah I know the fucking cockroaches, didn't know people refered to the manga as JOHJ thought. But again, its as I figured, some shit manga that's very popular that I honestly don't care for and will never read.
Try Houshin Engi.
Looking at Houshin Engi, It looks a bit like a generic shonen manga? Is it any good or are you just recommending it because he's only really read shonen manga?
I got my pre-order in today for "Loli Science Fantasy Wrestling 2: Piss Fetish" It's pretty ok.
Well you shouldn't just call it a meme manga if you think there's nothing wrong with it.
It was suddenly translated almost all at once and it turned out to be really good and not in some sort of pretentious way. Surprisingly, it also hasn't lost steam all the way to the latest chapter. Should it be any surprise that a manga with such conditions ended up being popular? It's not like One Punch Man or something, it's more like how /a/ fell for Boku Girl and Oyasumi Punpun.
Recently read what has been translated of hyouge mono, its a lot of fun, I love the facial expressions, the art is good, and the main character is very likable. I'm so sick and tired of mary stu MC's with special powers, so hyouge mono has been very refreshing to read.
Its a really good read and does an excellent job of not becoming a battle manga but still keeps martial affairs relevant, which is very surprising for a story about Sengoku Era Japan. Enjoy.
I bought all the volumes of Robot that were translated into english but it seems like a letdown so far. It has some good artists but their storytelling skills aren't that great and then the one I liked the most didn't even get a full translation for their story. I have the raws for it though, so if I can ever find someone interested in translating a few pages I'd be interested in finishing it.
>It looks a bit like a generic shonen manga
Ryu Fujisaki's pretty good, don't knock down a series if you haven't even read it.
I spent my day reading this parody series and mainly realizing why people find rude girls attractive from my favorite girl Sayla.
Devilman would be my favorite horror manga. I hope that the Cyborg 009 X Devilman movie inspires a new Devilman anime.
Boys on the Run
Onanie Master Kurosawa
I don't know. How do you feel crippling depression or hollow inside? Extreme suffering, or extreme happiness?
Stuff like Otoyomegatari, the cutest fucking shit with the best art on the planet, makes me depressed sometimes. Do you want the MC to suffer? Do you want general suffering, realism, hardcore, NTR, what?
Thanks. I've already read Bitter Virgin. Didn't expect to like it, but I got hooked.
I am trying to wrack my brain for what I'm actually looking for when I say crippling depression and hollow inside. I guess general suffering and realism would be a good place to start. Please no NTR though, friend, my heart is too faint. Give me the most unforgivable acts of violence and cruelty, but spare me from the cold talons of NTR.
Does anyone have a good drama seinen? Not romance as a main plotline preferrably. Doesn't need to have action, just a good and creative read the likes of Yamamoto stuff
