Awful ending

I don't see this ending as awful since it is from Nihei. Mediocre maybe.

Trust us, that it's one of the better endings he has done.
But hope to god Sidonia just goes fuck it, takes his stuff and goes anime original plot 'inspired', since the raw material has always been good.

Anyone want to consider how else it should of ended? Feels like they should of beaten End Boss Orochi to get clues on how to push back Gauna for colonization in final big battle.
Anime Hoshijiro / Bene clone deserves better, especially after that double princess carry.

Timeskip out of nowhere, it's only a week or two but they also introduced some things that imply the series has been going for years for the first time so it's very disorientating since Nihei never clarifies. Every major plot thread is dropped, LMUS is kill and ochai is kill. And Tsumugi dies dramatically but gets revived in the second Hoshijiro placenta because lel happy ending. And they have a daughter. And Izana and (now male) Yuhata are seemingly a thing. And they're leaving on a new seed ship with a sequel hook that Nihei nearly beats you to death with.

Hoshijiro clone got Izana's round face which baffled me, they should gone the way of next level mutation, which is Tsumugi eating a human to take their form like all Gauna do. Should of eaten best female pilot, that's more like a Nihei twist.
