can someone explain to me why this thing is so popular?
I haven't watch it and this don't looks interesting

Why don't you watch it and form an opinion for yourself? Humour is subjective.
Revival of an iconic old franchise (nostalgiafag bait)
All male cast and a lot of homo undertones (fujoshi bait)
Watch it yourself and you'll get why.
It's the funniest thing on TV at the moment. And a beloved classic in Japan.

even if I like it, that won't explain how this show is outselling everything else by some far range

I kinda doubt old grannies are a major BD selling audience.

I bet 80% of osomatsu fans must be girls

This.
This is shameless fujo show. It implied at the beginning of series when they make fun of Haikyuu & Idol boy anime.
I almost puke at episode 16, though.

The thing is is that a wide range of ages are enjoying this show.
I've seen old people talking about it for the nostalgia (Akatsuka had a huge impact on gag manga, anime adaptations of his manga are still widely available) AND young people who like it for its characters.
Another point to make is that the 60's cartoon version of characters is way more popular than the 'ikemen' idol versions.
Basically:
all star male cast + funny character interactions (aka fujo material) + insanely popular/nostalgic anime that has been known in Japan for years, created by the 'god of gag manga' = this

you telling me /a/ is full of fujos now ?

Fujos on /a/ are loud as hell when they have something to obsess over.

Is this the new "I just marathoned the first episode"?

>80%
95% anon, funny how many landwhales are delusional about the fujo pandering
I started watching it because it was legitimately funny, the first cour was better but it still delivers. Only later did I discover it's by the same director of Gintama, so it explains a lot.
Don't visit the threads, though, it's filled with fujoshi and general gay shit, the show itself is barely discussed.

Fujos explain the massive sales. But it's generally a very funny show and any homo subtext is minimal enough to make it popular with non fujos too.
Behold fujofucks
