Does /a/ remember which anime you first finished watching that didn't air on local TV in your childhood.
Do you remember why you started watching it?
Do you still think it's a good anime or do you think it's shit now?
>There was a shitty porn game on newgrounds and my teen dick wanted to know more
It was Naruto, in 2002. A friend of my oldest brother got subs from somewhere, burned 3 and 3 episodes onto DVD's and gave them to my older brother. Remember sitting there with a shitton of DVDs, taking one out puttin another one in.
The first one I ever saw (that aired on local TV) was Moomin. I didnt know it was an anime until a year ago.
Also, I know that game you speak of. I read love hina, and I found that dating simulator, entered the cheat codes for the dress-up games, took of all the clothes, printed out the shittily drawn girls, and fapped to them.
Mahou Sensei Negima!
My brother was watching it, I went into his room to ask him something or some shit and stayed watching it.
I barely remember it and I haven't watched it since. I imagine it'd be watchable at least.
It had girls and guns.
I rewatched recently, and it's much better than it has any right to be.
Friend saw some gory panels from the manga, thought they were cool and showed me; I found out it was an anime and watched it in a week
Still one of my favorites despite how badly the animation has aged. Better than the movies, dub voices>sub voices
It was back in 2006, I was searching for a streaming website to watch pokemon and i found one where there was a list of anime in alphabetical order. Air was the first show of that list and there was a picture of Misuzu, I found it cute and there goes the story. I remember at the time i was amazed at the idea of all these chinese cartoons being available online in a few clicks.
Back in the day I tried reading the manga but
>Beta MC conveniently living with a bunch pretty girls
>Misunderstandings (Kyaaaa pervert)
>Everyone beats the crap out of MC
And people say modern anime is bad.
forgot to say extra info
>randomly browsing internet
>see this, get raging boner
>decide to watch the rest of the show since I already was two eps in
and that, /a/, is how i watched my first anime (not counting overly westernised stuff like pokemon)
imo it's pretty bad, but for an ecchi it was alright. the story was odd and it was badly adapted, but the true question of the day for an ecchi show is if your cock likes it, and mine did.
I remember back when I was in elementary school I would browse the now forgotten AlbinoBlacksheep for shitty flashes to entertain myself. I think it was a point-click type horror game and it used the Lilium theme. I liked the song and took it from there. It's only been a few years since I started seriously watching and I don't regret any of it.
Except for that time I tried to
watch Lance n' Masques
There were a couple airing on tv, but once I grew a bit I stopped watching it. Only a lot later did I watch Death Note, no idea why I found it or anything, but I did enjoy it. I still think it's pretty good. Entry level, yes, but still good.
Scryed, recently went back from the start and watched it all. It was pretty great.
Saw the last few episodes of ttgl, but now I keep dropping it because it's really boring and cliche as fuck. Up to ep 15 now. Maybe one day I'll actually manage to finish it.
FMA:B is the first anime I've seen from start to finish. Haven't rewatched it since then.
First watched this about a year ago.
I bought it on amazon because I heard that It was Really good.
I think that it's nothing short of excellent
I even bought the novels and everything, that show got me hyped.
K-On!, I tried to watch it ironically and failed miserably. I'm glad I started with moeshit instead of entry-level shonenshit and I continue to lick the delicious KyoAnus to this day.
Here's the computer screen for its activation sequence.
Later on (BurnUp Excess, rather then W), there's this giant transvestite.
I lived in Mexico as a kid, not too sure which anime was my first I want to say candy candy or Mazinger Z or Saint Seya. Not going to lie, spanish dubs are amazing they do a damn good job.
Angel Beats. Yeah, feels end made me decide to fuck real life and become a weeaboo.
Not really, since Mexico had all of the dbz and dbgt series dubbed completely before most countries. All that stuff I watched around the 90's so I guess it might have been a decade old.
Pretty sure it was this or castle in the sky. There was a
girlacross the street that I played with when I was in the 3rd grade and she had the first season on disk. Looking back now she is problebly the reason I am a weeb. Thanks.
Sonic X, I think? Yeah, technically it did air in my country, as it did almost everywhere else, but I missed the TV airings (and it mostly aired on a channel I never had anyway), and I watched the Japanese original while my country aired the 4Kids cut.
As for things that absolutely never aired in my country, Future GPX Cyber Formula.
The best part was when the volume levels were inconsistent between parts of the same episode. Part 2 was kind of quiet so you turn it up a bit only to have part 3's commercial transition blow your ears out.
where my Iria nigs at. Sci Fi channel up in this
>Do you remember why you started watching it?
saw it mentioned in gamefan magazine and then caught an airing on tv.
>Do you still think it's a good anime or do you think it's shit now?
It holds up pretty well I think. Solid animation and it was pretty simple plot wise so not really a whole lot could go wrong honestly.
This was my shit back in the day. Got into it when I had been playing the games but a lot of it was still being translated.
Looking back Stream still isn't finished and Beast was the only season that stood on its own. I don't think I ever saw Beast+, but it might not have been out at the time. I rewatched Beast a year or two ago and never realized how long it took to get to the world-hopping bit. The animation for 90% of the fights were criminally lazy though.
I know you said not TV but
Dragonball and Z as a small kid
then a lot later 13-14yr old found a channel
"Yu Yu hakusho? Inuyasha? WTF is this japanese shit?"
Watched a few episodes got into it
And to get on topic, I told a friend
and he suggested Ah! My goddess as a good starter anime
downloaded it, no regrets, teared up at the end even tho faglord edge teen
now I'm 26
watched it again 2 years ago with GF
it was nice, so yeah I still think it's a good anime
(second one was Hellsing btw)
