I did something similar with Rurouni Kenshin, it was one of my favourites so I never watched the ending to the anime or read the end of the manga so for me it hasn't ended.

I've done this with so many series that it's becoming tough to actually complete them. I just can't deal with the thought that it will all be over, so I never let it end. Last one I actually watched all the way through was Kamichu though I really didn't want to finish that one.

usually as I am about to finish an anime/manga I start on the next series as I am finishing another, that way you finish up the manga/anime you originally were watching and have interest in the next to keep the sadness away.
