Why are they so soft?

The show was good but I was expecting feet and did not receive feet.

The part with Reina blowing that shit girl the fuck out was the best part. Even someone who doesn't know shit about music could tell who did it better.

Other than that, the yuri baiting was the only good part of the show, along with the cute girls and fluffy hair.

I was unpleasantly surprised by the lack of focus on feet.

Loved this show.

The orchestra nostalgia was strong.

Hated myself enough to use the random button on database and got this. Even as a band nerd I wasn't expecting anything remotely entertaining as I am not partial to cute girls doing cute things and haven't liked a single kyoani show I've seen.

Main character being a real prick is refreshing, last time I can recall that happening was Sabagebu. Director shitting all over the band and its members to get them where they wanted to be was also nice. Mild nostalgia engaged just reading words like "sectionals" and hearing the tuning notes.

Genki girl and bass girl were the stereotypical bullshit the show didn't need. Hard to watch their scenes. Might seem significant or refreshing to newfriends but old hat eye-rolling to anyone else.

Yuri bait wasn't expected but I can't say I hated it. MC being a real weirdo was refreshing. Ice queen was meh but the showdown tension was an accurate reflection of skill vs. seniority. Was ultra pissed when the vast majority of the band didn't "vote" on the duel.

Pleasantly surprised but that isn't saying much when I was expecting a 2/10 and got a 5.

Had me up until here. You not enjoying things isn't because you're old, or have seen a lot already. And saying that it is just gives you a painfully obvious fedora.

I absolutely adore kyoani, but I'm not a fan of character dramas so everything past the festival episode was pretty dull to me.
It was nice seeing Reina's autism and arrogance costing her the solo, even though kaori was kind enough to give it to her afterwards.

I wouldn't say it was in bad taste, just that it came on too strong. I could give someone a pretty large selection of shots and scenes and have them think someone's life or livelihood was in danger, instead of just people concerned over ninth-grade friendships and competitions. It was a lot of fairly minor stuff if you look at it realistically, and it is possible to treat that sort of thing seriously and make it work, but that didn't happen here.

One of my biggest fantasies is seeing Reina get her shit cut down only for her to find a way to build it up again. The audition arc was nice, but it wasn't enough. What would really be great is if we could follow Reina to music school, where she'd be nothing more than a self-important prick in a crowd of self-important pricks. Especially as a trumpeter. If I could see a scene where she for once isn't actually the best, my boner would last me for days.

It was refreshing to see a high-school show about a band not turn into either K-on or a 2edgy4u melodrama. I expected nice visuals and maybe some music, got that and good characters, with actual relationships and problems. Also a/u/tists got BTFO, and that's always good.
