This manga gets slower and slower the more characters it gets. I really wish it would go back to focusing on Ippo, so we could see some progress, and not just circlejerking about the supporting cast.

>It's not like Ippos fights are always interesting.
They have actually been pretty few good ones over the past few years. Too many silly and gimmicky characters, that serve no purpose other than filler. And even against them, Ippo struggles.
The last fight was a bit more refreshing, because the fighter was more down to earth, and the result was actually something different.
Hope Ippo fights more semi-realistic fighters in the future, and that Morikawa evolves Ippo's style to something other than ramming his head into his opponents' fists until he magically pulls a victory out of his ass.

He's a legend because Anderson was a renowned fighter who had been predicted to have won the world title if the war hadn't happened.

Also Kamogawa was fighting prize fights practically every other week it seemed, so he's had more fights than one would think.

He was also there for the birth of technical boxing in Japan, to see with his own eyes and what not.

It's not the fact that he's a legendary fighter, it's the fact that he's an encyclopedia of boxing knowledge and knows where all kinds of training can be applied.
