Lets dispel this fiction once and for all
> If anything, its shoujo.
therein lies the problem with the current /a/, anything with a primarily male cast is fujo now. You might think pic related is being sarcastic, but it has been proven to be quite accurate in describing /a/'s current hivemind .
>dude says kohai
>subs say senpai
Yo, straight up, what a fucking bitch. I mean the guy was kind of a jerk yeah, but you just don't pull that shit. Just tell the guy sorry but no and be done with it. Don't rub his ugliness in his face.
call me a newfag, but what makes a show like this "shoujo"?
I thought shoujo meant "for girls", which to me makes me think of a show with a primary female protagonist/main cast dealing with female issues
but this show is about an all male main cast dealing with male issues.
Would that mean that daily lives of highschool boys is also a shoujo? I don't get it
Nigga the majority of this board are adult males who watch shows about teenage girls kissing each other.
Now what do you think adult females would want to watch? Reverse it and you have teenage males kissing each other.
It's not rocket science.
Demographic discussoin aside, this show is incredibly shoujoesque. Anyone who doesn't see it hasn't seen nearly enough anime.
There're a couple "group of boys" animes out there, but in this particular case all four male leads are shoujo manga stereotypes. We've got the cool playboy who really only wants one girl, the sweet boy next door, the quiet faithful guy who for some reason always seems to have bangs covering his eyes, and the playful sadist.
All four girls are shoujo manga leads. There's the independent one who'll get turned around by love, the awkward one that doesn't understand love, the individualistic but ultimately good hearted girl, and the girl who's read too much shoujo manga and actively pursues romance.
The vast majority of the focus in any given pairing is on the guy, and this is a shoujo manga standard the same way that shounen manga romance is always about how cute the girl is what she does for the protagonist. We get more of the guys and they move the relationships because female viewers like it more.
I didn't even know there's an anime for this since I only read the manga.
Speaking of the manga, I'm quite surprised that many people are supporting spit girl and playboy pairing. I thought people would start bitching when the supposed /u/ girl starts turning into het. Well to be fair even the fact that she's /u/ is rather debatable but that doesn't usually stop them
>I'm quite surprised that many people are supporting spit girl and playboy pairing
Are you not from this world or something? Where have you been all this time? This is by FAR the most supported pair in this shoujo since the beginning also the most likable one. Please don't talk nonsense.
But I know they're popular and the most likable pairing in the series? I'm just surprised to see almost no one bitching about it because of dumb /u/ reason considering on what time we are in.
You're probably right, even visiting there sparsely made me a bit jaded.
As someone that likes GL (not often though, my choice of GL pairings is less than five) I have to say that the whole doesn't make me angry or anything. In fact, her character is handle well regarding her crush on Anna and why she likes her so much. I mean I believe her when she says Anna is special for her and at the same time I don't think it's a situation where a homo is turned hetero. Rather, I think only Anna is special for her and has this hate for guys, she is defensive and rude as fuck but as she gets to know them, especially playboy, she warms up to the idea of making friends in first place with them.
I can't say something about her sexuality though since hers is the most debated one but I support her and Mattsun so much.
At the end of the day it's a shoujo manga which mostly means hetero pairings.
Spit girl and playboy are simply the best couple. Also, I guess this series being a shoujo the fanbase already expect multi-faceted relationships and unclear feelings between the characters.
Mattsun knows his way around Mari, that's why it's so fun to watch.
I'd argue that Tsuyupon and Yukirin are better couple, but them being a thing already kinda takes half of the fun.
