Does anyone still care about this?
it's a shame, it obviously can be good, the realistic combat with the goblins was godlike, but the pacing is ridiculously slow and some of the characters are cookie cutter copy and paste bland as fuck.
I can't get over Yume rape spoilers
Just finished watching the first four episodes.
The pacing is complete shit. Healer stealing loot never got resolved and that Death Knight needs to fucking die. Will probably drop it if the next episode doesn't drastically improve things.
I wrote that way for every livewatch thread actually.
>More emotionless cunts
Enough is enough, this archetype is so annoying.
>It won't happen.
It doesn't mean anything, unfortunately. Haru's too infatuated with Mary to pay attention to someone so "supposedly" normal (quotes because Yume is way sexier than the LN described her).
I kinda like her LN design better, but at this point it's easier just to consider the two separate since they're vastly different.
Well, considering they're trying to comfort each other in the depths of misery it'd be a little hard for him to express his thoughts (of which he is extremely aware of Yume's softness).
>Mary cuter than expected
>Haru crying his eyes out
>gratuitous Haru skin the whole episode
>bonus wet Yume
Jesus Christ this entire episode.
I just finished up Vol. 1 and started on 2, and I'm really disappointed at the pace. I realize that they needed to figure out their own ineptitude at some point, but it really needed to happen quicker with far less goblin bullshit. I hope we at least get a taste of the orc invasion and Renji's OP team.
Volume 2 so far has been good, except for Ranta who continues to be far more a nuisance than anything.
Pride is important, anon. Manato wouldn't be happy if they bought their badges out of pity.
Pride is the only thing you have left when you're living like a scrub.
I mean, don't get me wrong. I think there's a time and place for insert songs and introspective scenes, but at this pace the anime is going to end at them
getting revenge on the goblins that killed Manatoand aside from Mary's flashback, we're not going to see any of the cool stuff that actual competent parties can do.
Well, whatever. I guess I can be content reading the LN and letting the anime be its own thing. Maybe we'll get an announcement that it's split cour.
I don't know what you mean by spend, but I was more commenting on the pace of the series in general and not the anime. Was just disappointed that Manato dying didn't wake their stupid asses up quicker.
Sadly them being able to be like that for so long without having impure thoughts and taking so long to realize why Shihoru was embarrassed puts them both in the nakama or kazoku zone.
The anime is definitely exaggerating her size, but she's certainly not flat.
I feel there is some potential here for a decent anime with character development and seeing them level up and becoming high level, but this is going to end up like sword art online with titties and beach episodes isnt it?
Weird how the pacing was slow and we spent loads of time with the characters yet I feel nothing about Manato dying.
Maybe they should have waited longer before killing him off.
Unless they go anime original, nope. Lots of brooding, in-fighting and being shit adventurers. We might get the odd scene at the tavern where things are a little more light-hearted, but it'll probably only happen once or twice in the remaining episodes.
There's nothing wrong with the series, it was probably some American site that announced it as a game and attracted the wrong people. Or maybe someone made a post in /v/ about it.
Feel the same way, but I think it's because Manato was barely even a character. He was so bland I could just not relate to him.
This is actually something that happens quite a lot. Characters that are meant to die early on have very little personalities.
>We’re now switching to 1080p for this show since it’s native 1080p. This means we will no longer be doing 720p releases. We’ll be re-release the previous episodes in 1080p as we go along.
Time to redownload these AGAIN, it seems.
yea right now its pretty decent but i heard somewhere that there is some ero ero shit like one of the girls getting gangraped by goblins or some shit in the original light novel
I think it was because Manato was just the sacrificial walking plot device to show them that the MCs can die. Surprisingly, you could have swapped anyone out of the six of them to swap the bolt and I wouldn't give a fuck either way.
What bothers me the most about this is that obviously a mystery part to it showcased by the characters saying things from their past lives that they don't actually remember and yet they just keep going with their lives without ever going "man how the fuck did we end up here".
I actually like that they're extremely chill about their lost memories. They have no hints about how to get them back, maybe they don't even want to get them back, so there's no need for them to bother with that. It reminds me of how the characters in Log Horizon barely gave a fuck about going back to the real world and instead focused on adapting to their new world.
I like how she puts the faggot in his place
She's not exactly the breathtaking beauty the LN described her to be, but she's extremely cute nonetheless. I guess we'll get to see some real beauties when Souma makes his appearance.
The sex hair is definitely real in the LN.
The faces are a bit weird, but I got used to it fast and everything else is pretty nice.
I prefer the anime designs but the novel art is cute.
He does eventually start properly thinking about one of them, though it's not the girl everyone wants him to end up with.
Also, to anyone finished Vol. 2 or can read moon, does Ranta ever stop being the most annoying character? I know Haru's attempting to deal with his bullshit, but Ranta's one trick pony of being a loudmouthed dick is starting to get old.
It's the latter. My friend TL's for one of medium groups and recently started non-english subgroup, you have to get verified or some shit, no idea about details but you get the idea.
what has that got to do with anything, if there is a bunch of fanservice and rape i am not interested in this, is it hard to understand that someone just wants a decent normalfag adventure with defeating the badguy and saving the princess not getting raped and psychological horror?
Shihoru is flabby. Yume is has a near perfect athletic build.
Its ok to like fat, anon. But toned girls with the right fat in the right places will always be objectively superior. This is /fit/ certified
Chaika on the frontage!
Fuck. I hope he at least sticks with Dread Knight long enough for Zodiak to become relevant. As it stands he's just a less useful warrior who can't even properly time when to Fear enemies.
They're complete beginners and don't know a thing about strategy or fighting, I get that.
However this is a 12 episode anime and the plot has barely budged. I'm not saying I don't enjoy the show (it's really comfy), and maybe it's just one of those LN advertisements, but there's too much focus on forced drama. We still have no clue to what the red moon is, why and how they ended up in that world and if they can even get out. Do they age? No one is asking the existential questions and that bothers me a bit.
In the end the show might have been for nothing.
I always upload to ddl. Posting only here means some sikrit club sub only few people can watch.
yeah, but maybe it will be up at the time. If not, I post sub in thread.
So, they want everyone under control for some reason.
>In the end the show might have been for nothing.
It's an ad for the LN. like every other adaptations there is.
Do people still not get that the point of adaptations or something?
But it's funny.
Have a yome to brightens your day.
They're too busy trying to not suck worse than everyone else to care about the why or how of the world. They are quite literally the worst of the worst (save for Manato), so rather than be dragged up by their betters they have to figure things out on their own.
If it's any consolation any potential second season will have them acting far more party-like, but we'll have to see.
Actually I might've remembered wrong. It might be just that if you're not from USA, you need to get verified. Probably to avoid shitton of non-english fansubs shitting the site up.
I only read up to the latest translated volume 3 chapters, he does stay with his class and made improvement on his skills though nothing much was explained about how much better he is now with Zodiak aside from they can kill kobold better now.
>killing their first goblin
>"the goblin is scared"
>"he doesn't want to die"
>"is it afraid of death?"
>"he's struggling, like us, he doesn't want to die"
Why are japanese so obsessed with having to explain everything to the audience? The way the goblin acted scared and struggling to fight against a group of enemies was enough to know that he was afraid of death.
They were made for improper activities.
Anime drew it out far longer than it was told in the LN. Seems like the director was going for a bit of a slower start so emphasizing how inexperienced the party was with killing things was necessary (or not).
She has seem some far worse shit than they have, that's for sure.
Bad direction? I think most of us agree the first episode was way too over the top with its portrayal of the party's uselessness.
Luckily it looks like the series has hit its stride, more or less. With 7 more episodes to go the pacing should be much nicer if they aim to wrap up things up along with the end of Volume 1.
I wonder what his tolerance to biting is and how his back would feel like when he arched it. Damn it anon, I just took a shower.
Anyone else having trouble downloading this episode? Its stuck on 0 of many seeds and I get a ton of peers but nothing. Stays at 0% downloaded.
Same on horriblesubs and other torrent sites
Translator isn't fast at all, but he seems to really like the series, so in the next 10 years, probably. Unless it gets localized, but then you'll have to pay for it and we can't have that.
>If anything it demonstrates that its not just random Japanese people who can suddenly wake up in Grimgar
I like this point but they should've picked another gaijin name.
>She's a female priest?
>We should name her after Holy Mary!
>More emotionless cunts
Mary was meant to be emotionless but she just came across as bitchy.
The point is that she doesn't want to make connections with anyone, not that's just straight up mean.
I didn't even realize "Holy Mary".
Shit, maybe I'm just slow. Honestly never considered her being another country until someone brought it up.
(Actually now that I think about it, I think she doesn't know what ramen is or something and the others try to explain but they don't remember either.)
>Mary is the only one with a brain
>b-but she doesn't cooperate
Why are they all so retarded?
They don't yet realize that Manata was pulling way more weight than any of them. Manata covered up their weaknesses without telling them before he died, so of course they're not going to understand when a proper Priest doesn't want to heal, tank and DPS all at once.
Yup. Also her not knowing what ramen is confirms it. Although there's no foreigner with a semi-functioning brain wouldn't know what a ramen is, but they just wanted to tell us that she's a total gaijin.
This guy walk into the club and slaps a gold coin on your table.
How do you respond?
It's a group. But why do you need a group to translate a novel? There's only one translator so it's not like they do anything except scanlating the 1 page of text every novel gets. He does all the work while everyone else brags about it on social networks as if they did something. They don't even fix his mistakes in the QC.
Multiple translators doing the same thing usually ends up with awful quality. The translator is part of a group (NanoDesu), though, a quite big LN translating group with over 30 projects and that seem to care about quality at least the shit at Baka-tsuki. They're quite well organized too.
>reading the latest translated LN
So many death flag
>Mozgo and Ranta are happily looking forward to retire and become business partner
>Haru met some girl from his past but he couldn't remember but Yume is still waiting for his D
I bet those people will die in the future just like Manato. Rip Manato. The only likeable character in the anime. I wonder if the author one day going to talk about Manato's past.
>tfw i used to shamelessly beg for gold coins in WoW vanilla
>to upgrade skills because it was expensive as fuck
>someone finally talks about stratehy, tactics and common sense
>Fuckin bitch she should just shut the fuck up!
Is there any hope for them?
Because they don't care?
There's a group here, there's like 2 or 3 editors with him as well, they do a fine good work as well, Grimgal is probably the best translation I have read.
If he drops the project it doesn't matter if there was a group or not because no one else reads moon so it's over. If he gets tired of the group he can always make his own site and translate alone. Don't get things wrong here. It's groups that need translators, not translators that need groups. Even easier if it's a novel because he can just post the text anywhere he wants without having to bother looking for a cleaner or typsetter.
Didn't really explain anything, but it's not goblins they're fighting.
>pacing is ridiculously slow
really? I was thinking the pacing is pretty okay or i even think it's quite fast . I meant it's only 4 episodes in but we already lost Manato. In LN, they make him the most reliable guy. He heal, he tank, he deal damage and many more. The party couldn't survive without him. He's not just a priest which suppose to make the loss of him even more depressing. He was the one that get the group together and appointed roles for each of them.
my point is that it would be great if there was more than just one translator
hence why it would be nice if it was a group with more than one person working on the translation alone
LN Yume must be a quite different character.
As far as the translated novel goes, it haven't yet. though there's little surprise for Haru in the future concerning his past. The story will move on from Goblin i think in a few episodes.
Yeah that would be good in an ideal world but it's not how it works in fansubbing. First because there's not enough translators, even less translators that want to translate the same project. Then there's also the dibs drama. Some people don't like to translate if someone else is already doing it because they don't like to share fame or are OCD about all chapters not being translated by the same person. Readers are also like that and whine a lot.
Sideboob too distracting
>All this Yume x Haru
>The exact episode after I decided to drop it since hearing spoilers that it won't happen and Yume getting raped
Nice try but I am not going back. You can't fucking trick me.
It's better to wait and watch it imo. I feel like the anime handle the LN better than Log horizon. It has better animation and shit.
Log horizon is just disappointing and the pace is fucking abysmal.
I still can't believe we are on the NTR train. I don't know why am I still doing this to myself and watching this.
Shihoru and Yume in novels really almost don't exist.
It's all about Mary.
Anime is good because it has them always on screen so they actually feel like they add something to it.
Her emotional reactions this episode were also anime original, nowhere near as emotional in the novels. Same for most of the "shipping" moments.
I like it a lot more.
Haru would never get Shihoru though, no idea why people would think that.
>someone who actually knows how their role works
>doesn't take shit from that cunt Ranta
Fucking a best.
I'm disappointed she isn't as hot as Yume though. Her LN design is better with all the crazy sex hair.
Really though how stupid can they be? After risking your lives oh so many times wouldn't you figure out by now that what you are doing is completely retarded? At this point I'm only watching to see how they die for the lulz.
See, this is a prime example of a man who do not want to fuck with. He is not hunting shitty goblins he is unting dragons and shit, fucking up necromancers while riding on top of a steel meridian dragon while going fucking castlevania devil may cry on those mothafuckas.
>Not accepting it because a dead person wouldn't do it.
Fucking lame, Everyone in this party is a bitch apart from Moguzo.
Ranta is too fucking edgy.
Does she not get raped in the novel or something weird like that?
>I still can't believe we are on the NTR train
We aren't though. There was one whole fucking chapter in the latest novel about Haru cleaning up misunderstandings after he thought he was being NTR'd.
The anime didn't explain it as much as LN but they have to fight because they have no choice, They have no memory and when they wake up they were offered to take the job as volunteer and get some silvers or get the fuck out. And the one that leave won't get far without any money.
If only Manato was here, he would free us from this useless new healer who won't tank, heal, strategize and lead us!
I always wonder why official site's character page always looks worse than in the actual show.
Grimgar is not the first one and won't be last one i guess, just don't understand.
>i'll keep trying to force this retarded meme!!!
>Join a party
>Party leader expects me to go to the front line
>Party leader expects me to tank
>Party leader expects me to heal every little damage taken by that red-haired idiot.
>She's the only one making sense and gets all the hate of the party.
As in the last volume, he loves Mary, there are hints that Shihoru is interested in him. Even though he loves Mary, he is very embarrassed when he is talking alone with Shihoru, only with Shihoru, she got plenty of death flags. In volume 3, a new girl appeared who was his crush IRL, she died and he remembered at the last moment that she did love him but he never confessed. He thought he had been NTRed IRL and chickened out.
It's going to end the same way as Hibike, "hey, we overcame this challenge, go us! See you guys next season we'll never get!"
Except Hibike got one.
I think the only good part of the novel is that is a tal of a bunch of kids trying to live in a world where master overlords can summon dragons from the size of mountains and sauron like enemies are not uncommon along with the necromancer wars they have going on.
Mary and the new tank guy were having constant meetings and Haru thought he was going to lose the Maryb owl. He then asked the tank about it on the bath and he was just asking for advice, ended up actually falling for her and confessed, but she rejected him.
