Made a poll for those of you who watched Evangelion:
I watched it first in dub and most of it made sense to me. The plot is pretty straight-forward actually. I just thought it was boring and mostly unpleasant to watch, also I hated those last two episodes. It was the movie that confused and upset me, and I only came to understand it by lurking in threads. I still think it's overly-nihilistic and doesn't have much of a positive message at all. I still don't like Eva that much and I think the fans are just overly-nostalgic. Your poll is dumb OP because it is too vague about a subject that is very complex and subjective.
>Those people are always the most vocal?
Their just people looking for replies.
>Your poll is dumb OP because it is too vague about a subject that is very complex and subjective.
If it was more elaborate people would get bored and wouldn't answer.
I don't really see the problem for you. If you understood most of it and watched it dub first then pick that choice. It never asks you whether you liked it or not, that's not the point.
I watched the original dub and understood it.
I think the last two episodes came out of left field but eoe made up for it.
I still have conflicting opinions on Eva because while the overall plot is a mess the entire subject matter about depression still hits me quite hard.
I still won't call it good but it is fascinating. Like watching a sixty car pile up. You just can't look away.
It's one of the few reasons i still hold out hope for 3.0+1.0 or whatever dumb title it decides to call itself.
If Shinji gets a happy ending, perhaps it can act as a validation to my younger self, and to me now in many respects, that i can somehow attain a similar happiness.
At first I watched it when I was 9 years old in
rusdub. All the symbolism and most of the deep monologues and character's motivations went over my head, but plot wise it was pretty clear to me what's happening. Later I rewatched it but I had knowledge from lurking with me that time.
Yeah, you're right. It wasn't shameless, considering it was Misato it was a proud bump.
Where's the option for "I watched it up to episode 10 then skipped to episode 26 to see how it ended but was utterly confused, dropped it, picked it back up again in the original japanese a few months later, watched it in full up to 24 and everything made sense, then watched End of Evangelion and became utterly confused once again, then went back to episodes 25 and 26 which answered nothing, and then never watching it again?"
You mean "god-like bump" would be more fitting?
