First Nyaa. Now AB? It's still up thanks to cloudflare, thankfully. Why is someone doing this?
There's also a bit of a twitter shitstorm too. https://twitter.com/zoid9000/status/695787219848531968
Add it all to the list.
>the sekrit club mentality
So I dont have to mention sites like Madokami?
I miss the old internet. Social media and normalfags really have destroyed everything.
People still think TPP won't do anything? Now here's your proof that it will destroy every single outlet for filesharing you have except the most archaic and hard to track like IRC.
Looks like we're going back to the old days of downloading via IRC clients or even having to get invites for private trackers that are hard to find to keep the files safe from being gone forever.
If we can use i2p or some other solution we may have a chance at restoring the way things were, but it's all downhill from here.
Is this the yearly "muh torrents are kill" shitstorm that ends up amounting to nothing in a few days?
I'd think you autists would learn to stop throwing a shit fit every time there's a DDOS attack
same my dude. I don't bother anybody, I just like to play videogames and watch anime. Having to watch online warriors shit up my favorite things just because they're offended about something makes me sad.
Us elitists and autists on /a/ will have no problem procuring our annie mays from usenet, xdcc, some guy's FTP or whatever. The ones who will be hit the hardest are streamfags and people who download exclusively from private trackers.
THOSE COCK SUCKING BASTARDS DESTROYED INTERNET,TELEVISION,VIDEOGAMES AND ANIMU!!.....now what?!...the the ozone layer and all the life on this planet including innocent people and cute animals...oh wait.....
The issue isn't a DDOS. If it were just that it would be fine.
This shows that removing these sites once TPP is in place will be quite easy. We only have a few years left of what we have now (torrent trackers like nyaa where anyone can download in a swarm and hell even private trackers are going down).
We may soon be forced to go back to IRC or use other more obscure methods of filesharing. Possibly having to use more obscure sites to do it since 4chan isn't obscure anymore as a site and these methods will get ratted out by their own users.
It's not a good situation at all. If you would look at the future instead of the here and now you would see we are heading down a path where the Internet is as controlled as television is right now with almost no way out except to create our own private networks away from the mainstream Internet.
The day Pirate Bay, KAT or any other shitty popular public trackers go down for good, I'll be worried.
Nyaa/TT gets DDOS every fucking year, just wait for a week or so and it'll be back.
That's not the sekrit club anymore after people kept posting it everywhere and the site tells you how to register. Everything will be fine as long as no newfag learns about the real sekrit club.
It is a DDoS though. TPP hasn't had any effect just yet. Stop fear mongering without any actual evidence that anything's happening. You're right about the future of the internet, but piracy as it is now isn't going away as easily as you say. Piratebay & KAT are still fucking alive.
Newsflash, they have all been taken down at one point but keep coming back as new versions. They will go down for real once the Internet is more tightly controlled than it is now. We are in the early stages of transitioning away from the old wild west Internet. People seem to refuse to see it by saying "it was just a DDOS, they'll be fine". That's not really the issue. The issue is this DDOS gives us the opportunity to talk about how easy it is for these sites to go down and what we can do about it in case they do go down. As well as talk about the future of filesharing in general before shit hits the fan.
>Impying there is any secret clubs left
Not in this day and age, not even those shitty dick sucking/donators only livejournal groups are alive anymore. People these days literally can't keep their mouth shut.
>paying for localised anime
Kill me. Besides that is an extra 50$ for shipping and I need a region free bluray player cause nobody even fucking sells anime here.
Some spic stream site I sometimes visit is under attack too
I remember how nyaa, AB, even 4chan itself were under attack around the time SOPA was being evaluated. Now it's happening again.
Why is that? It can't be a coincidence.
I don't think all the anime related sites were being taken down at once, it was just one or two sites last year.
This seems to be a very concentrated attack on filesharing sites in general as well as on copyrighted material from Japan in general.
All outlets are being targeted, private and public trackers, streaming sites, and filesharing sites.
Although it's not as bad as it could be, it's certainly worse than last year.
Botnets are taking over our anime.
Who is behind it? Is anyone even in control anymore? Who launched first, us or the Soviets?!
At least from experience we know DDOS can't last forever.
>ANIME BACKLOG TIME
Is there a backup of the magnet links anywhere? I hate using XDCC so much
>Those bots who send you "XDCC SEND #" but don't send the file
>Have to request a 480p version of the anime just to get a working XDCC share
>anime dies/completely gone/very obscure in 4 years
>companies either bankrupt or change entire structure to something else
And I'll still think 3D is PD.
>you will never find the real secret club
>He doesn't have enough anime saved to last a lifetime
>We will see western normies ruin anime in our lifetime
I don't think Steam was offering anime and Funi was deleting anime pictures from Twitter last time though. And let's not even get into Youtube pretty much sweeping through anything anime related and getting rid of it, except for approved outlets. No, let's not talk about this, it's just a DDOS. Nothing to worry about.
We cannot stop it anymore, anon. TPP passed some days ago.
Not that anon but my hdd died recently, I was in the middle of recovery download. I had shit that's nowhere to be found anymore these days there lost forever, and now this. Fucking shit man, how far can human censor themselves just for a few shekels
I know you retards spamming dmca claims on twitter are lurking.
Holy shit can you stop, every person I'm following is literally sperging out and herkz is flooding into my feed.
Literally /b/ tier autism.
Just got done fapping. This shit is still going on? I'm glad I mostly use irc.
It depresses me how people are celebrating the existence of anti-piracy shit like Denuvo. And now we're seeing shit like Wolfenstein 2009 being gone from the face of earth (unless you pirated the thing) because the publisher determined that selling the thing was a hassle.
Greed is the worst thing ever.
I just went to YouTube and it is still there.
I should ask you that question, since apparently you haven't been paying attention to what sites have been taken down and what's going on around you as if you are completely unaware. I'm fine with just using IRC and I'm currently watching XY&Z on my other television as I type this. Don't you have anything better to do like watch anime instead of arguing your same point over and over about the DDOS? It's getting old.
They just banned the term from the Youtube search engine. You can still get the videos by googling "Azumanga Daioh Youtube," which makes me wonder what the fuck they're trying to achieve here. The idea of banning search terms is still ridiculous, though.
>Haha, oh you're baiting ha-
Ah, so it begins, with this 5 the sad panda dies.
There are definitely workarounds, but definitely odd that that anime title specifically seems to have been banned from the search. It feels like a bug, but it also seems far too specific to be one.
Probably they're testing the word filters they plan to use once the TPP is ratified.
It's funny because if I can't listen to / watch anime openings, certain songs from certain anime / videogame OST or commentary-free walkthroughs of old videogames, I have no reason to use Youtube anymore.
What's the point of a video hosting service if there isn't anything to watch, except for blogging retards?
Does Azumanga Daioh have some sort of government secret hidden in it or something?
>popular guys bully the quiet guy who always goes unnoticed but never bothers anyone, for no reason
>the next day he shows up with a gun and shoots everyone in class
> Nyaa, AB, AND Horriblesubs are all down.
OH GOD IT'S THE APOCALYPSE! DAIZ HAS FINALLY KILLED ANIME!
I thought I'd have more time to archive. Noooo!
Works on my machine, maybe if you didn't pirate it :)
Then it must be Kaorin's lesbianism that killed Azumanga Daioh
But the thing about Steam offering Naruto movies from the thread that's been up for a day and still hasn't gotten deleted, thanks mods, is streaming as well. People, as usual, are just overreacting to everything, this time with even more /pol/ accusing everything of being TPP's fault.
You should be used to this by now.
Need to set interface language to 日本語.
Look at it this way /a/, Japan is an island surrounded by the ring of fire (the biggest underwater active volcano in the world) We can possibly witness japan sink into the ocean in our life time, this will help to let it go when the time comes
Yeah it really is. It's funny because they think they did actual damage. Most of the sites are back up and new twitters are already being made. By Monday everything will be back to normal
>There are terrorists murdering civilians in the name of religion and race
>There are economic conglomerates destroying the earth and turning it unable to sustain life in the name of profit.
>There are drug lords profiting from the destruction of first world's societies while financing guerilla wars in the third world
>No, let's prosecute those evil pirates
Our world has its priorities screwed.
Wait, so is all this actually just Senketsu's autistic retribution for getting bullied by the meme cartel on twitter? That's fucking hilarious.
He isn't, that's just the Commie people who started everything trying to damage control.
We just had a near 1000 replies thread about this, check the archive because some mod deleted it when it was on page 9 for whatever reason.
No it's pretty much targeted at people posting screen shots. Shitty system? Yeah, like YouTubes baseless tier DMCA takedowns.
Why are all of you shitposting right now when you could be catching up on that backlog?
It's low-hanging fruit, and it's also that anti-piracy efforts are motivated by big corporations trying to squeeze as much money of their content as they can. It's all capitalism and shit.
Jesus fucking Christ, man.
What the fuck.
Don't forget about double standarts
>CR don't need my money.
>such a shitty show
Are you trying to make Chiyo-chan cry?
It's a lot of happening actually.
What you're saying is unrelated with what Yuyucow is saying. Some retard in the last thread tweeted to removepiracy to get Yuyucow's account suspended.
I think it's a good thing. Who watched anime on youtube anyway? The people this will hurt most are those fucking faggot youtubers who try to become internet celebs by making lazy anime reviews or toplists.
Mostly fan subbers since they're accounts were the ones mainly listed on anti-piracy sites but I can assume if Funi are autistic enough they'll keep trying to purge until you pay for their shitty service.
Yuyu is also just a sakugay fag.
>not having it already achived
Boy, are you a pleb or what?
I've been doing that all day. There's nothing like sitting back in my comfy chair with a cup of tea and relaxposting on /a/ after a long, hard day of watching anime.
Daiz and Jewcob on a DMCA rampage. thanks to the Transpacific Partnership it'll just keep happening
luckily the site I use has MAGNETS. thankfully, Daiz never managed to successfully assassinate it despite trying to convince the whole cartel to kill it.
I'm honestly not any more worried about the DDoS attacks than I was last year when Nyaa went down for several days.
The Azumanga Daioh thing on YouTube seems far more concerning.
I didn't say they were bad. They're bigger than they need to be for the average viewer, but for those of us with good monitors or TVs they're fucking great. Th people who complained were tech illiterate losers anyways.
>Twitter is nolonger safe
God damn, even twitter use to be more open to things than 4chan is(e.g its fine to post loli on twitter but you'll get banned here).
Guess the dream is over.
So, for all the poor souls that didn't archive their backlog yet
due to space issues, I assume it's time to start scratching together all kinds of magnets and alternative sites and hoard as much as possible before that shit potentially goes down, too, eh?
Man, I got into RAID over the past couple years for archiving purposes and shit just gets out of control. It's just so satisfying to see your array expand and give the HDDs cute names and take care of them, all while enjoying the simple pleasure of data management.
So this all happened because he bullied some mongoloid from Senketsu subs?
Amazing, Herkz. Truly amazing. RHE would be proud.
>Account permanently suspended
>Can't argue back or challenge them
thus begins the great age of copyright trolling
Maybe now he can finally work on finished that fucking Mahoyo TL
>Senketsu Subs retard is saying she will keep doing subs but won't post them on Nyaa anymore.
>Already going back on her word
I doubt she will get even triple digits on her download counts from now on.
This is the the second coming.
Remember back to youtube's shittier copyright detection system before networks where ANYONE could claim copyright and get ANY video taken down?
This starts the Copyright WWII
For no reason at all. The only thing Senketsu has been doing for the longest time is ripping Funi subs into .ass files, so you can slap them on an Ohys raw in order to avoid Funi's shittastic quality releases.
>giving the HDDs cute names
Honestly this is half the drive to do this aside from the security of it.
What's the best HDD & setup for this type of thing?
How long until anyone charges everyone else into DMCA claims for the sake of trolling so twitter implodes with it's own user base? Fuck that would be so glorious to watch.
>A manga is licensed legally in my country
>It got anime adaptation
>Can't watch the anime legally in my country because my country is excluded on CR or it's picked it up by Funi.
I wish they fix this kind of licensing problem.
...are we going to have to use THAT?
>we are currently living in the dark age of the internet
>it will never ever get better only worse
I am tempted to create an account and just try to randomly throw DMCA claims at people posting anything licensed, be it anime or not.
Just to find out what happens, shit has me curious now.
10 years from now, you'll be pooping red because of being falsely (yeah right) accused of owning cp (probably loli) porn in some random jail, because you posted some random animu/game/series/book pic on the internets
Yes. It's already work in Russia thanks to roskomnadzor. For example some dude report at sportswiki ("drugs") and they banned it. That guy was business rival. Google "Internet censorship in Russia". Our country "fight" against drugs and suicide but now they start to fight against piracy. US will be next.
>We are in the early stages of transitioning away from the old wild west Internet
Why are you, a millennial? That happened 12 years ago and you're an idiot.
>any recent time on the Internet
>yfw 4chan will die in your lifetime
So youtube wil get even shittier.
Maybe, just maybe, there will be a somewhat more obscure video portal to give us anime OPs and stuff.
Youtube is still too big to fall because of that.
Unless some other autist gets an idea from this and starts doing the same thing and this becomes a more regular occurrence to fuck with fansubbers. Possibly alerting Japanese copyright holders to destroy the site. Maybe I'm just paranoid though. That can't possibly happen, right?
MUH CARTEL A+ BLUE RANK MONOPOLY MEME or whatever shit...
Seriously though, they should just restrict access to nyaa and straight out ban all the god damn re-encoded bullshit releases.
If these troglodytes are so fucking uptight about their meme subs being the top selection, then fucking just turn them into being the only selection.
For fucks sake, it not only would weed out the shitstain PC users, but also these tumblr re-encoding autists that keep dishing out trash .mp4, 8-bit, 480p deprecated releases.
Seriously, fuck this. Eien was right.
Welp there goes my recovery dl. Anyone knows what type of machinery do I need to recover a physically damaged HDD? I'll rob a bank if I must
No, just a poorfag. I'm 30 years old and never even used the Internet until I was nearing 20 years of age. Couldn't afford a computer until I started working a job.
I will be outright surprised if anyone on /a/ nowadays is older than 30.
> We are in the early stages of transitioning away from the old wild west Internet
Anon, it's been ten years they arrested that guy for the football bomb "threats". The Wild West is long fucking dead.
So will people finally start using vimeo or create another platform for not dmca bs then? I mean what dailymotion did to get behind youtube for so long? I remember both being the top alternatives for online videos back in the day.
You reminded me of this: https://blog.onahole.eu/news/twitter-when-russias-law-becomes-global
>We are writing to inform you that Twitter has received official correspondence from the Federal Services for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communication (Roskomnadzor) regarding content on your Twitter account, @Meidocafe as being in violation of Federal Law No. 149.
>Although we have not taken any action on your account, at this time, we are notifying you so that you may decide whether or how you will respond. If we do not hear back from you, we may be compelled to take action on your account.
Melonpan isn't russian but his naked anime girls got taken down because it broke russian law
Well I'm also 30, so I guess we'll both see soon.
Why do you fags not make it look pretty?
I remember another guy in the thread mentions the idea of tpp dying too.
>not knowing how to get season anime without Nyaa or TokyoTosho
>not knowing how to get previous season anime without AB
You plebs fucking deserve everything you're feeling right now.
Don't blame the gun, blame the people. Social media was supposed to be the closest humans could get to telepathic communication (literally saying what you think to others without speaking a word). Instead it was used to censor the world.
>not archiving literally everything, or at least the things you've watched
I know you enjoy le guilty crown is bad meme, but it's retarded to download a show, be entertained by it, and then delete it.
Jesus Christ. The whole world will become New Zealand
Guilty Crown was only entertaining when I watched it here when it was airing.
Why would I keep something that's literally garbage?
What does that even mean
It's not easier and I don't even know how it's fun.
I bet somewhere right now Koda is eating popcorn while reading all this shit.
Shit airs in series at different times. C'mon now.
Forgot about part 4, newest shit.
>knowing about /a/ tripfags
Not him, but literally what?
I'm scared /a/
I don't know where I'd go if 4change disappeared
I don't want to lose you
I don't want to die.
For personal use regular old RAID1 is probably most convenient, but RAID5 might be preferred if you have more than two drives. RAID6 sounds pretty cool too for when I become a big shot, but my card doesn't support it. Just buy a hard drive enclosure with hardware RAID capability and stick them in. I have RAID5 3x4TB drives in a 4-bay enclosure for 8TB which is more than enough for all the anime and manga I have for now, though I also have a few new hard drives to swap in in case of a failure.
I'm not an expert. Look it up or ask /g/ if you want to hear from people with more experience and incentive than "I bumbled my way through it because I didn't want to lose my pirated animus."
No, you just need to download a database software capable of opening up SQLite files. And you also need to look up how to do proper SQL queries unless you find a software that does it for you.
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING THIS IS FUCKING OUTRAGEOUS FUCK JAPAN FUCK THIS SHIT
Hug me /a/
>I was so happy to notice
Never actually heard of RAID, just read up on the basics on Wikipedia just now. From what I understood, it basically saves your stuff on several HDDs at once, treating them as one mega-drive, correct?
How does adding additional HDDs work with that?
>From what I understood, it basically saves your stuff on several HDDs at once, treating them as one mega-drive, correct?
There are multiple RAID configurations (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) which do different things. But basically it's about linking two or more different physical drives.
