>no secondary healer
>ranger can't use bow
>zero utility skills / ranged attacks
Jesus Christ, no wonder these guys are dying off.
They have one.
That guy died way too soon to have any impact though.
>tanks using 2h
>ranger uses melee weapons
>thief charges head first
>caster does trick spells instead of damaging ones
>healer ooms overhealing minor wounds
>dps uses only 1 skill
Most accurate MMO anime yet
Every single episode should have ended 5 minutes earlier so far. Instead twice now they have insert songs, and the episode even continued on after the first insert song, then played the fucking ED. Dragging this shit show out, aren't they
Every time characters start talking, Favaro needs to get in and ask them if there's actually a point to this shit.
Like half of the show is them doing or talking about completely banal stuff, and there's nothing intrinsically wrong with that but it's so frequently trivial and mundane that it doesn't even really contribute to character development or worldbuilding.
Lots of anime have that issue where characters exposit about dumb shit that doesn't have any real short-term or long-term importance but goddamn, this is like 2/3rds of every episode.
I just wish they would be facing DS tier enemies with shitty group. It would be glorious
>Giant guy with blunt weapon
>Archer staying behind and shooting with deadly accuracy
Yfw goblins are better at this than the main cast
Goblins did do NOTHING
Its a fact,not a meme
>Ranta needs to learn a skill to thrust a sword
>Yume needs to learn a skill to swing a knife diagonally
>Haru needs to learn a skill to stab someone in the back
>Manato learns a skill to hit stuff with his mace
>Moguzo learns a skill to swing his sword
This shit is actually fucking retarded.
He uses Anger Thrust and Hatred Cut.
>Ranta needs to learn a skill that teaches him how to thrust a sword
Have you played Devil may Cry? It's exactly like Dante's stinger. Of course not on Dante's level but you get the point.
And once again.
The soundtrack is the weakest part of the anime.
Also confusing that the key episode got the low budget treatment. I hope it's not an indicator that they run out of budget already.
Thats a big gob.
I wouldn't mind a story about Ranta 1v1ing shit.
I, for one, am loving the slow pace.
Shit's so comfy, and we get to see the everyday struggle of the cast, can't think of it as a bad thing, especially since we don't really have some major plot to focus on yet.
Goblins are mudslimes, we've been over this.
They're not. The goblin's a displaced noble. There's a proper section to the city in addition to the old ruins they're in. the goblins fight eachother to determine who's in charge, and the losers get exiled to the ruins.
Which brings me back to what I said in the previous thread, >>136848907
Fuck, beat me to it
Will have AMERICA version soon
The other group has also the better girls.
So how old is she? Because it seems she just hit the puberty now.
No one likes a goblin sympathizer, faglord.
God damn this was sad as shit.
Delicious Yume feet though.
Why couldn't he heal himself? Didn't he say he can't prevent blood loss but he can close the wound.
That's the best part though. Then again, I've always been of the thought that media like this need more moments where characters just shoot the shit instead of one plot point after another. Whenever someone dies in things like that, I never have any reason to give a shit.
MANATO DID NOTHING WRONG.
Anon, the goblins were of equal level and used PC tactics. Even in D&D, that shit is scary as fuck. I rather fight a mindless high CR creature than a group of enemy that does that shit.
This show is realistic in that any group of japanese teenagers dropped into a fantasy world will have deaths yet unrealistic in that the girls haven't been fucked by forest monsters yet.
Also how the fuck did they find so many solo goblins, the bastards know they're being hunted. Why are they ever alone?
>take an arrow to the shoulder
>lay there complaining instead of getting out of line of sight
Does it hurt so much that his legs can't move?
I want to force every single person who tries to shovel MMO mechanics into the discussion through a 24-hour marathon consisting solely of Pupa, Mars of Destruction and Legend of the Blue Wolves.
I bet this was Ranta's fault somehow.
Even Freud and Jung says she wants the D.
>Fight with Renji's group
>Implying that would be a fight
If the training they get from their guild actually works, and the kids have 0 memories chaining them to modern moral systems, they shouldn't be this adverse to the whole...killing to survive thing. The party's just a bunch of hopeless pussies. Look at Reiji's party--they're doing just fine.
So Mary's VA will be Anzai Chika
No, you're confused.
You said 'skills are an rpg thing not an mmo thing'.
The problem people are pointing out is that 95% of the time, MMO is short for MMORPG. Note the last 3 letters there.
They aren't cool enough to pull that shit.
You see this shit right here?
That's the reason their party is so shit, even disregarding the no bow hunter.
Why the fuck isn't he wearing a full body armor.
Why the fuck isn't he using a mace and shield with holy magic to heal.
How can you put a fucking priest in rags on the frontline to be your vanguard.
His death was kinda anticlimactic though I'm not sure if it's a good pr a bad thing.
He totally did everything right this time.
>Mfw the mini-music vids, outro and intro songs make the actual real content of this show about to a little less than 14 minutes.
The LN sold something like 6k average before the anime start airing.
Compare to Bahamut(~30k) and Kunosuba(~50k) you could think it's a way to make sure Toho would give A-1 budgets.
Nobody complaning that in the source material it was Manato's idea to attack those big goblins?
It was like that in the manga where it was his idea too. I guess they were really trying to play up the 'too good for this world' thing he had going on. He was pretty dreamy this ep as well.
There isn't a single goddamn person in modern day japan that has experienced anything close to what they're dealing with right now. The only applicable muscle memory skills transferred over would maybe be Reiji and Ron if the two of them were delinquents that got into fistfights all the time. That doesn't mean they have a natural aptitude for brutal, bloody, life-or-death armed combat.
Are we still in Goblin Namek?
Gotta minmax. If it gives +300 MP I'd even wear a skirt.
Renji is autistic for fights. He probably doesn't know what sex is. And if he does, he fucks the loli.
>The orc’s swing missed as Chibi brought not just the tip of the staff, but the entire shaft around in an arc.
>“Yah!” she squeaked. Utilizing the momentum of the swing, she brought it back around to smack into the orc’s lower back.
>It didn’t bring the orc down, but it did get its attention. The orc stopped in its tracks, and Chibi hopped back to where Renji waited.
>He patted her head with a large hand and said, “Well done, Chibi.”
>Chibi made a cooing noise, her face turning beet red.
Tank should always be leader, Too bad he's just a big cutie softy.
Not even close.
have you ever been shot?
People get literally stunned, sometimes you just fucking drop in shock.
Sometimes you don't feel anything for a few seconds, run away in panic and only then realize that you're bleeding heavily and lose consciousness from looking at your wound.
I imagine having a fucking arrow as an extension of your body makes for an extra fun reaction too.
The alternative would be to kill Manato 2 episodes in, they even added anime original content to fill in some time since there just wasn't enough content (well, there was at the start but the way they made the first episode skipped a large chunk of the introduction ot the world (which was boring and pointless) and they couldn't go back to it).
>enjoy it for what it was don't trying to focus on shit things
>come to /a/ the moment I finish the episode
>keep seeing people complaining about everything and probably for a good reason
>question watching anime in general
this is how I feel 8 times a week watching shit
SAO is a lot more tolerable in my opinion. I mean the anime for Grimgar is still going so I don't want to bash it too much however.. what I've read and what I'm watching is just "meh"
I wish they wouldn't skip around with the flow of the battle, where did Ranta even go?
What a slut.
Even when she'd dead tired she manages to show off her ass.
Like half of the episode was her showing of her legs for the footfags.
>>priest can't wear armour
>>you need to learn skills
Learning skills is literally training, they pay money to train for a week with their master and learn the ability, that's only the beginning. They get better with it by using it, just like everything.
>thief, hunter - cant even into first aid.
>the only member that can heal
>spends all mana on a hole in the soulder and a leg.
>dies from a crosbow bolt.
>healer learns melee strikes
>archer goes melee
>nuker uses debuff
>death knight has a sensory skill demon that can't sense shit
I'm glad healer died.
I wanna see a competent party, this dudes fucking suck
Pussies get stunned and drop in shock. Stopping power is a thing specifically because sometimes--nay, most times--when you shoot someone, their adrenaline kicks in, their brain screams at their nerves LALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU when they're saying they're hurt and they do not go down. They keep coming at you, fighting for their life. This is why tasers and mace aren't especially effective as assault defense. This is why shotguns are vastly more effective for home defense than handguns.
Despite what most would have you believe, people can survive and keep functioning in spite of some very nasty shit that would do just what you say to any other creature--put them down instantly and kill them from the sheer shock.
This is pure bullshit, most people who get shot when adrenaline is pumping will keep going. That's an arrow too, not a bullet, not even close to the same stopping power.
There's a reason you want high stopping power, a 9mm isn't going to stop anything unless you manage to put 4+ into the guy (we're talking within a few seconds, a single 9mm to the chest will kill, but you want to kill BEFORE the guy runs up to you and stabs you in the gut). This was a fucking bolt in the shoulder.
>>death knight has a sensory skill demon that can't sense shit
His demon hasn't even leveled up. Did you watch the fucking episode? He fucking said he completed the last vice so he can level up the demon.
Even after that it only appears at nightfall. By volume two he gets more vices and it can appear at daytime.
I wasn't supposed to laugh right?
because this episode was fucking hysterical.
I can't even imagine how the head priest felt
>Bunch of people bring you the corpse of your apprentice
>Start screaming at you to bring him back
>Can't do it
>They start yelling at you
>Tell them they need to get him buried before zombies come
>They yell at you because it costs money
>Offer to pay for it
>They scream at you because they'll do it
but Favaro really needs to fucking die. HE decided not to go tank when he was supposed to and well a party without a tank is no party at all
stills were fine, but yeah, j-pop was sort of ruining it
we're talking about a bunch of kids fighting monsters, I think it's only natural to see MC not being some war veteran and just going "lmao it's 9mm whatever"
>4 episodes in
>Useless Adventurers still stuck in Goblin Namek
Are you fucking kidding me, are they serious going to spend half a cour staying in Goblin Namek?
What the fuck does it take for them to leave Goblin Namek once and for all? Do we seriously need someone to go Super Saiyan and kill Goblin Frieza?
Did you just forget the previous episode in which he was stabbed in the exact same place with a much bigger weapon? This was not his first time experiencing such a trauma. He's just a pussy. That's why his party is failing, every single one of them is a pussy.
I second this.
It is a really wierd feeling to discover a trauma amidst training/combat. For the first second or two you might feel nothing but a slight discomfort, but then you look at your wound or try to do what MC did you will be greated by a very unplesant pain shock.
Priest is the most cuck class in this anime.
Prove me wrong, you can't.
>Can only heal 2x
>Has to spend actually money to learn the SKILL SMASH
He fucking took a sword in his arm like a champ.
And besides, he's right at what he said.
Shock is a really big thing.
He mentioned that he couldn't breathe, that's when you start panicking like a motherfucker and become irrational.
I once was in a situation like that, though I didn't have a crossbow bolt stuck in my shoulder. Trust me it's terrifying, even if it lasts a few seconds.
I literally have been watching anime for a decade and never read a single light novel, I have no clue where did you even get that idea in the first mate
how does taking a bullet or being stabbed compare to being shot with an arrow?
Seriously? being a young manlet or a veteran makes no difference in how you perceive pain? Last time I checked pain tolerance was a thing, as well as being able to stay calm in life threatening situation.
I'm going to give him a least 2 more vol's before he dies. If anyone is going to die next in the series I'm going to bet on Ranta. He keeps making stupid ass, reckless decisions.
When you are in the heat of battle you sometimes don't even notice you've been shot until you've calmed down unless it's enough to kill you.
Besides, you'd assume that after a fucking month of fighting and getting shot at he'd know to crawl to cover instead of trying to pull out arrows.
You don't ever want to pull out stuff unless you give immediate aid.
Those retards probably sealed Manato's fate when they've pulled out that arrow and dragged him to town.
>You should be watching
What do they mean by this?
Seems bullshit for me. Only Overlord was written by real authour who play games.
I like SAO first arc. But grimgar is horrible and painful to watch. Pretty clear that it was written by ghostwriters.
Fuck A-1 and their no_uncensored_nudity policy.
How many times have you been shot, Sgt. Badass?
I just found it weird since he did get a dagger to the shoulder in the second episode which was much more understandable there.
That said, Ranta also got injured in the leg in that episode which makes me ask: Does getting pierced hurt more than getting sliced?
>All it took was ONE goblin with a crossbow to fuck up the whole party
>Healer is commonly in front lines to the point they count him as a vanguard
>Healer learns a DPS skill as his first skill
I can understand somewhat if it doesn't cost mana and he can use it when he isn't using a healing spell, but
>Ranger learns melee skills
>Other ranged unit, a mage, learns utility spells
Jesus fuck they have no ranged DPS. At least the tank had the common sense to learn CC moves.
Beautiful anime, tho, love the water colors and the dialogue is great. I wish more shows in general just had segments where characters did nothing but talk to each other about trivial shit that wasn't plot related. Its rare that I watch something and go "Wait, its over?"
Thank you Yume ass for existing.
I asked that earlier, doesn't seem to have any updates according to ANN. As of now there are 3 Vols of the LN out and they're on chapter 12 of vol 1 so I'm thinking that they may rush it. Unless we get a second season.
You should be watching a better release instead.
How many of you are watching this just for Yume?
>but in episode 6 there will be Kobold
End of the first volume, kobolds are only in volume 2.
So it's only adapting 2 volumes and there's way too much time for volume 2 I'd say as well, really didn't need another 4 episodes for the rest of volume 1 but oh well.
Just sad they aren't doing volume 3, especially since volume 2's ending is kinda shitty and just stops without any sort of conclusion.
At least in volume 1 it's like "we are moving on now" in volume 2 there's very little.
Maybe a 2nd cour announcement sneaks its way onto the last episode, r-right?
Getting sliced though the gut would hurt a lot less than getting sliced through the muscle and or tendon.
Piercing pretty much guarantees that it will go deep, slashing is a gamble.
>a world with magic and skills endlessly
>doesn't have simple potions
Cuck the anime everyone
>Being this level of retarded
So did they really think goblins all use swords?
So is anyone translating these yet?
This show isn't all that bad.
But good lord, whoever's directing this is terrible at implementing music and the soundtrack.
Almost as bad as the way Utawareru's director has handled music.
It's sort of a generic anime cliche. The mature responsible older brother type character that everyone likes and looks up to dies forcing the others to get stronger... However what do you do when it takes forever to get strong? That's where Grimgar comes in.
Let's talk about how they'v got into that situation in the first place then.
Walking around in the open inside enemy territory alone without a care in the world.
Didn't even have any lookouts.
Fuckers deserve anything, if they've refused to learn anything after a month.
Holy fuck I just realized how well the EO OST fits this show
Why don't you go watch some youtube videos on how to splice images together, you drooling retard?
Then you don't have to rely on the almost always non-existent grace of anonymous.
I wouldn't doubt it, every goblin they killed and encountered only used melee weapons. I wouldn't put it pass them if they think of them as low intelligent creatures who cant use range weaponry
If you think volume 2 is shit for ending then volume 3 is just even more shit.
I mean sure volume 3 have siege battle and it's great, but the ending is so sudden and not good for a 1 cour show.
When you get pierced by something, like an arrow or bullet all that force is transferred directly into your body, a slicing motion disperses a lot of that energy into the air unless it's an extremely clean hit and it would still have less energy.
Getting shot with a handgun while wearing a vest with no adrenaline going through you feels like getting hit with hammer.
Did they just retcon Manato's death or was the mango adaptating the novel wrong?
If I remember correctly, they make the genius decision of going agaisnt two hogoblins when they just became able to take out 3 normal golbins, and the hogoblins had armor even.
Then, after everyone got rekt Manato chose to go to the frontlines and ended up kill.
I mean, if it was just a surprise attack like the anime I wont be able to hate them as much.
yeah I noticed their recklessness and lack of proper preparedness too, only to later hear they done a map of the region or something
i just don't know, fuck their party
I'm still curious about how realistic manlet's reaction to that arrow was, but let's just leave that.
>You want animeonlyfags goes rage?
I want them to adapt the most action packed volume where cool shit happens so that it might get a season 2 because at this rate it will flop.
Vol 1 and 2 are mostly about them growing as characters, vol 3 would also make more people want know what happens next and buy the LN.
>hurr where the elves at?
>have this little mana
>go learn melee skill
>cant into ranged
>cant spot for shit
>no survival skills or first aid
>no defensive/damage/buff spells
>long cast binding spell
>has no balls for sneak attack
No wonder they let him down.
Same on 2ch.net even japs complains how shitty and unrealistic this show. That what you get if you try to sell shit based on mmo without playing them. Marketing LN is marketing LN
Is fun how goblins have the most comfy and competent parties
>Same on 2ch.net even japs complains how shitty and unrealistic this show
We had 2ch posters here showing us some retard is making this whole
>everyone hates grimgar
Thing over there, he shiposts on 2ch and here too.
Jap bros have always had different taste. It's like
We love Asuka, they love Rei, We hate SAO they love SAO. It's always interesting how they never really complain... and just get along...
>when based Moguzo bites the dust people probably won't give half as much of a shit
Being a silent workhorse is suffering
Eh, they already said they got careless since they were doing so well against the goblins. They let their guards down, which was inevitable since things were finally going their way for once and they have yet to experience being ambushed. They weren't raised to be soldiers, they had a week's training and then played it by ear. There's no manual to teach them things, they were improvising every step of the way.
Just as you know whatever you like the insert songs or not, there still one more insert song coming.
Stand on the Ground, seeds and rainy tone are played, Nutrient still not played yet.
Its an improved attack. He learned it because his group comp is retarded and he's on the front lines.
Yes, and? Jedi are the evil ones in the Star Wars universe. Read your background sometime.
Fuck off retard this is the oldest bait ever. And 2ch didn't say a thing.
>Why would you think if it doesn't flop means we will get season 2?
Because studios like money. It doesn't mean there's 100% chances but it makes them go from 0 to 80. If the anime is profitable and makes LN sales go up then they will get asked to make another season.
If they fuck up the adaptation and don't get people to buy the LNs then publishers won't bother.
Why the fuck is this show so painful to watch? 4 episodes in and these useless fucks are still struggling against the goblins, now with a casualty. Seriously the entire party should just get wiped out already and have the females enslaved as breeding sows
Can we get a competent party doing something else OTHER THAN fighting goblins?
consistent character designs? What is that? Is it tasty?
All the goblins in the ruins are outcasts. Goblins fight eachother for status and the losers are exiled to the ruins. Most of them are too despondent to group with others--gob-chan was just unlucky, why should he have to work with all the losers that are stuck around here?
Even the elite goblin was just a dethroned noble. In the LN his only escort is his big hobgoblin, and they find him lounging on the balcony of a big ruined house, looking despondent and pissed off. (Also, the kids weren't nearly as conspicuous about their romp through the ruins in the LN. They were always very careful to have Haru use his thief skills to sneak around and scout everything for them.) But they couldn't have the group ambush him and fail miserably, because that would make the audience look down on them even more. Their failures have been stretched out for so long that if they did that people would give up on this stupidity. So they sacrificed the actual events to keep their retarded pace and SoL comfiness. This also leads to that goblin being nowhere near as menacing a figure and thus killing him isn't gonna feel like anywhere near the milestone it was in the LN.
He dies fighting a bunch of orcs so people would care, it's pretty "epic".
But we won't reach that part since vol 1 will cover the first 8 episodes, which means it will only adapt vol 1 and 2
They were living out in the wild for all of their lives, anon. They were training for this shit for way long than the one week training and month-long improvising the cast has gotten.
>Now that you paid me 30 gold I tell you the secret: you can cut vertically.
>Doesn't learn aggro/def/heal skill
>Doesn't learn detect/sneak/steal skill
>For some reasons decides to learn a melee skill instead of increasing her bow skill
>Decides to learn a root spell that takes 10seconds to do and only focus one enemy
>Decides to learn Smash Brothers
>doesn't learn useful skill
Glimpses of vaginas from under clothing make my peepee hard.
And that's the budget this show from, since this music group is under Toho.
You maybe don't like it but without them this anime wouldn't even exist since the LN sales was so low, like 6k average low.
The guy got stabbed in the shoulder in like, the first episode, and took it totally fine. This time he sees the arrow coming, hence the reason he ran out and took it for manato, and then just collapses when he gets hit? And then doesn't get up? What even is that?
Not just that, they outright refuse to help non-Jedi. Empire will help them, though. That's half the reason the Empire is as powerful as it is.
You've been posting it since the beginning of the thread.
I don't give a shit go bait someone else that cares.
no "Trapped in a MMO" should be its own genre, you know they are in the MMO and the same MMO rules apply and the items that are there. The world setting is established and the character knows about everything in the world for the most part.
this was like playing Darkest Dungeon
>your party can die to weakest monster
>they die they stay dead
>you then recruit another ones to take their place
actually I would love darkest dungeon anime
Thief actually does learn sneak and steal. I don't know if detect is a thing.
BlackMage doesn't have a root; it's like a 2-second stun.
Dark Knight is built to fight 1v1. That's what his class does: takes one power mob and himself out of the fight equation.
Holy FUCK that was sad.
Was expecting edgy cheesy shit but damn that hit the feels.
I, too, want her to make fun of me.
please tell me it's a lie. Why does this piece of garbage gets the best girl?
Are they crying because yet another insert song was playing during their episode?
>Tank had one job
>He was suppose to tank
>He left them to die so he could take cover instead
Is this girl mentally challenged? I can't fucking stand her, she good only as rape material.
What is even the point of this anime?
Do they all wake up once they die?
How will they even end it...
What's wrong with holding something deer?
I wont. I knew the death was coming and maybe they arr trying to shick viewer masking it under conplete sol with some brutality, but no.
This anime is only meant to promote shity jap music band.
This is why I watch SAO. Kirito would have made that world his bitch. All of these characters are losers. No one wants to identify with a loser, especially other losers. People should watch characters who are admired for their talent, skills and morality. I would rather watch a Mary Sue than some Beta who still fails at everything.
Backstab is actually the only one that seems to have real merit in being a secret skill. He didn't actually do the backstab in the episode. The real backstab is a QTE prompt where he sees a path that leads his dagger straight to a spot on an enemy's back, and instinctually follows it resulting in an extremely clean 1-hit kill.
I'm kinda ambivalent about his death. Not enough stuff has happened yet, storywise, for me to feel much attachment to him. He was a nice guy who died and has this sort of fling going with healthy mage. That's about it. If anything, I feel a bit annoyed that they took so long to kill him off, if his main purpose was to die without some notable development.
I bet the high priest could have rezzed him but he was like
>That nigger didn't listen to me when I told him to find a new party
