The characters were also a key factor for me. By the end, I liked most of them, which is more than I can say for many shows. Though Okada might actually be good at doing this, as I liked everyone in AKB0048 too.

Looking at her profile you can see she is really prolific. One thing I noticed was that she worked extensively on Toradora, but never even touched Golden Time, and the dropoff in quality between those two shows is palpable.
I think therefore it is safe to assume that Okada has the expertise but not what you would call talent.

As far as I remember. Hanasaku Iroha setting was given by P.A Works and Okada wrote the story. I'm not sue if she did the same for Nagi no Asukara. Perhaps she has part of the credit.

I watched M3 recently without any influence from /a/ and enjoyed it well enough. It had some really good episodes like when Mahmu finally got over her fear and guilt of Emiru. It also helps that I sort of do exactly the research that Natsuiri did in trying to connect people with BCIs. Also kind of creepy, I hope Okada doesn't hate me.
