Gintama actually doesn't have very many western fans, most "fans" haven't even seen most of the series. It's only known for it's parodies, not many people actually follow the manga and anime fully unfortunately

I'm going to need some serious HEALING after this arc, at least we got gintokisensei.

I'll probably watch this whole arc again next week before the last episode. Great adaptation, although the manga did it better.
But that's to be expected.

Wonder if they'll continue with the Farewell Shinsengumi arc after this one or if they'll end the season for now and revive it later.

I might be wrong, but I think we're 8 or 9 episodes short of a full 52 episode series. I imagine they'll animate Farewell Shinsengumi and stop the series there, maybe a final gag episode to finish up.
The fact that we're getting a Love Potion OVA later in the year makes me think we'll finish this series at a full 4 cours and then get a new series as soon as the manga is (nearly) finished.

Kamui is roughly as strong as the Night King guy awhile back.

Except he's still young, has more potential, and has potentially more aptitude for battle. Probably hasn't even reached his limits yet. Although if there's anything that can fight Yamato guy's so far, its samurai, who despite not being as strong in sheer numbers, can pull out more power or skill in desperate situations.

In terms of battle genius guys for that race, he's near the top. Its Kagura's dad who got a bit of a bump in the last arc or so to be stronger than he was originally in a sense, to seem like a threat to last boss guy.

We're 2 or 3 episodes into the current cour. The show won't end next week due to that. They'll either go straight to the Shinsengumi arc, or dump the skipped comedy arcs after this one and end the season with them, without going ahead with the future story arcs.

They usually preview future arcs, so the lack of information makes me think that they'll use the skipped stories to close the season, and only start the Shinsengumi stuff in the next series.

So how do mangafags feel about the current arc?

Personally, I'm getting a real 'final arc of Gintama' feel since everyone is up against the Tendoshu and the final boss is going to be Immortal Shoyo or whatever he is. I seriously wonder where Sorachi could take Gintama after this. Considering that he's going to do a few one off healing/comedy chapters, what could be the next big arc?

Also Anyone know what happened to Kamui? I can't remember the last chapter he was in.
