In a fight with Barbotos vs Valvrave, who would win?
Barbotos, mostly because Valvraves suck.
Valvrave has been shown as early as Episode 2 to be quite susceptible to physical weaponry by virtue of A-drei gripping/crushing Hito. Explosions from missiles spikes the Heat Gauge. And I doubt any rational person would let Hito (that tried to kill him earlier) overheat for a while for it to use its Harakiri blade instead of dismantling/disable if not totally obliterate it. Valvrave didn't get a nickname/meme of being a weak main series mech for nothing
Definitely Gundam Barbotos.
It's got a bigger katana so it obviously would win.
Well barbotos does resist pretty much every regular weapons the vvv has so the vvv would only be doing minimal damage to barbotos. Also barbotos's pile bunker lance would go right through the vvv, so that means barbotos would win.
Valvraves have higher specs, but Barbatos has the much better pilot. If Hito overheats, it's pretty much a goner, though it could easily murderstomp if it's pilot didn't suck ass.
the one that will trip over its own feet or the one that moves like an extension of the pilot, besides didnt they lose like... every fight against something ALMOST on level with them?
Barbatos hasn't been shown pushing fucking colonies on it's own. It hasn't tanked beam weaponry either, though it resists conventional solid weaponry just fine. Meanwhile Hito's standard armaments include a katana made out of stronger stuff than Barbatos', a beam rifle, and fucking shielding in addition to stronger thrusters and comparable armor. Barbatos trumps it in agility, but that mostly relies on Mika having a fucking neural interface.
>katana made out of stronger stuff than Barbatos'
No Barbotos's katana is stronger.
>a beam rifle
Which would have 0 effect on Barbotos
>and fucking shielding
That tiny buckler would help against anything Barbotos has.
>in addition to stronger thrusters
They are the same and Barbotos has better mobility
Barbotos's nano laminate armor is better.
>Plus I quite doubt Nano-Laminated Armour can withstand Clear Fossil and Hard Light.
It would. It's designed specifically to resist solid weapons, which is what both of those are.
That's it folks <3
(Greeting from Poland :) )
Reminder that Barbatos has run out of propellant more than once in-show, has been shitstomped by a jovian girl in 1 on 1 combat, spends several episodes at a time in maintenance, its pilot doesn't even maneuver efficiently, and you're posting in a Valvrager thread.
I would recognise this crude, basic writing style out of thousands.
Also it's Barbatos, dear.
He's a guy in his late 20's who lives to spam shit threads like this on /m/
Usually posts VS threads with DEATH BATTLE, "well, that was shit", or just generally rambling on about shit nobody cares about
all we know is
he's called the valvrager
Call me when Barbatos devastates a fleet in one sweep.
well, the whole reason that bullets and physical damage is so preferable is that standard mobile suit armor is designed to distort beams and make them useless so the beam rifle is literally a paper white in this fight,
also you cant compare a colony section to an entire gundam colony so we cant really compare it, the shield is irrelevant because barbados can ya know, attack anywhere else or the mace will still do damage if you hit the sheild, the spear moe was seen going through much heavier armor then a valvraves heat syncs
Specs-wise, I'd give it to Valvrave. Higher speed and Nano-laminate armor is anti beam but hard-light projections may as well be metal and heat based weapons might get through it. Once you throw in the pilots though, Mikazuki's ruthlessness would definitely get the better of Haruto.
>notable thing about Nano-laminate armor is that it makes beam weaponry useless hence the lack of it in orphans.
No it's what makes the gundam able to tank solid rounds with no visible damage. Lack of beams is just a thing in IBO.
>standard mobile suit armor is designed to distort beams and make them useless so the beam rifle is literally a paper white in this fight,
Nanolaminate is meant to shave off to prevent damage from projectiles. It trumps solids, not beams.
>compare a colony section to an entire gundam colony so we cant really compare it
Irrelevant. Hito has put greater thrust in that one act than Barbatos has ever been shown capable of. Barbatos also runs out of thrust relatively quickly compared to the VVVs ability to perform deep space travel.
>the shield is irrelevant because barbados can ya know, attack anywhere else or the mace will still do damage if you hit the sheild
I was talking about hard light. The actual shield is irrelevant when you can swipe your hand to produce energy shields.
It resists the output of the Harakiri sword being channeled through it. It also has better showings for damaging heavy armor. It's not a matter of word of god, but that of clearly shown feats.
Barbatos' nano laminate resists physical forces but supposedly it wears out and needs to be regularly replaced.
Hito's VLC polymer absorbs kinetic force and releases it as thermal energy, functioning as an energy conversion armor.
Barbatos is armed in OP's pic with a smoothbore cannon whose kinetic force dissipates over distances for reasons unexplained in addition to a mobile suit scaled katana. No superscience known to be involved in either of the weapons, they're just big ass weapons that belong respectively in tank and medieval warfare.
Hito is, in OP's pic, armed with
-4 Z Edge katanas, two long and two short, blades made of clear fossil, a crystalline material sharp and durable enough to not only cleave through metals with little to no resistance while retaining a razor sharp edge, but also able to withstand significant temperatures, which in Hito's case is important as the Z-Edges are the medium through which its Hara Kiri Blade attack, which purges excess energies generated due to thermal runaway, is executed
-2 Fold Sickles, stored as simple tanto blades only to unfold into hand scythes with rather impressive reach for their size. Their blades are also made of clear fossil, and have a decent track record when it comes to being chucked like a throwing axe
-4 Hard Afterglow emitters. Hard Afterglow is the technical name for the hardlight Hito produces, and besides being what trails Hito as its propellant/exhaust it has been used to erect temporary barriers to block attacks as well as enhance the impact of melee strikes
-A pair of Variable Vulcan head guns and Hand Ray anti-infantry personal defense weapons. They kill small things, nothing important to explain here.
And for the record, Hito is the one taking the handicap here, since we're pretty much barring it from the bulk of its Vurutoga loadout.
>Nanolaminate is meant to shave off to prevent damage from projectiles. It trumps solids, not beams.
And Valvrave doesn't fire beams, it fures solids.
>Irrelevant. Hito has put greater thrust in that one act than Barbatos has ever been shown capable of. Barbatos also runs out of thrust relatively quickly compared to the VVVs ability to perform deep space travel.
Valvrave also heats up really fast on combat leaving it wide open for death.
>I was talking about hard light. The actual shield is irrelevant when you can swipe your hand to produce energy shields.
Hardlight was shown to shatter very easily.
>Official info doesn't count because I say so
Nothing in the series contradicts it and modern manual info is based on official setting and ms notes given to the kit makers. Its mostly only old UC kits that are unreliable.
Considering that overheating mean your mech completely stops moving and is frozen until it cools down, I'd say that is a really big design flaw and renders it as a very weak mech.

They were only ever effective when L-Elf was dictating every single move they did. When left to their own devices the valvraves regularly got their shit kicked in by things way below them and assraped by thing slightly below them.
I knew I should've gone with the other bingo card today
What is this meme about Marie being a good pilot? She was never trained, the only reason Hito destroyed everything with her behind the wheel was because her runes were leaking like crazy into the engine.
Hito eats more runes to be stronger, it's one of the downsides to being its pilot.
No, I call out your bullshit boogeyman because it never existed. Crying valvrager is essentially just saying you have no argument and no way of defending your point but don't want to admit it.
That's right Valvrager, you have no argument and no way of defending your point.
Actually it does. The faster Hito eats runes, the more power it has.
No, the only logical explaination is that everyone in the VVV universe is easily distriated by glowy lights. Otherwise A-Drei, the Dorssian army, and Cain should have all destroyed the valvrave multiple times.
Because otherwise that would require admitting Valvraves aren't shit and/or Haruto isn't a terrible pilot and we can't have that, right Valvrager?
Here's your (you).
>Valvraves aren't shit and/or Haruto isn't a terrible pilot
You can't argue against that. Both are true. But >>136349044 does explain why the super focused and skilled soldiers have repeated bouts of utter stupidity.
not him,it was designed to resist beam weaponry which is why we don't see any beams in IBO, you might be confusing it with Phase Shift armor from SEED.
Anyway I'd give this one to the Barbatos, it can operate for way longer and Valveraves overheat faster than my PC also most of the Valveraves weaponry would be useless against the Barbatos with it's armor and MIkazuki is a pretty skilled pilot when compared to Haruto
Mikazuki & Barbotos vs. Lygart & Mech who wins /a/?
>loses to a woman
If you mean Lafner Mika was ready to kill her right on the asteroid,If Orga had called in any sooner she would be dead, keep in mind this was in the 300 year old mix and match Barbatos before it got it's refinement
That's why they were clearly intended to be deployed as a squad so they could cover each other to prevent overheating or protect a unit if one shut down. Unfortunately since the pilots were fucking high school kids, they never really attempted any real tactics except when Eruerufu told them to do the thing to save the day.
I only watched 00 an tought it was bad.
Based on this, can you give me advice on what gundam should i be watching?
I really want to get into gundam, but i think i just started off on the wrong foot
If you disliked 00 there's no way you're going to like IBO, which doesn't even compensate with mecha action
I'd say try 0079 (the original), if you don't feel like watching 48 eps just get the movie trilogy which cuts some filler stuff
To an extent. Cooperation being a theme of the show, it makes sense that it extends to the titular machines as well.
That said, a big part of the Valvrave team getting knocked around was that Cain is an even more bullshit tactician than L-Elf is, and Dorssia has been deploying what might as well be miniaturized mass produced Big Zams since episode 1.
>Cain is an even more bullshit tactician than L-Elf
Cain didn't start getting actively involved until ep 11 and was realky involved again until ep 24.
Valvraves were just that weak.
For starters we have Mika, a weak emotionless idiot that delves into pointless angst that is completely avoidable and only serves to make a situation worse despite telling us he is a hero and a good protagonist. He ends up unlikable because he does nothing to further the plot or better himself and everyone cheered when he died because he was such a shit.
Kudelia is a retarded little girl that only serves to be a plot device to make the show take a turn for the worse. She has no character outside of being a retard.
Orga exists to "fix" the plot and move it along. No character development and exits the show as he entered.
The side characters are boring stereotypes with no change, development, or impact on the plot.
The villains are one note, predictable, and boring with little motivations other than being mustache twirlingly evil.
Muh family. If you don't know what is wrong with this already, you are an idiot. But aside from that nothing happens or gets accomplished.
IBO has terrible animation. It was fucking recycled "Swoop in and beam spam." The animation was rigged and sterile which made everything come off as slow and sluggish and creates a dissonance between the narrative and the animation.
Only Raise your flag saves this shit one point when it is otherwise filled with bad singers and uninspired tracks
This thread makes me happy because either there are a lot of people from /m/ already vaccinated or at least people from /a/ aren't retarded enough to not notice the incredibly obvious way the valvrager posts.
Though I wonder why he hasn't tried to spam the living shit of the board, are you still salty over the bans?
