Holy shit this was a fantastic adaptation, I kept stalling because of /a/s mixed opinions. Seriously how can you call this shit, what is wrong with you people?
Finally got around to watching F/SN last week. Was hooked and immediately marathoned F/Z which I loved. I've never been interested in VN's but now I'm considering playing through the F/SN VN just so I can experience Heaven's Feel route.
Archer EMIYA. Emiya Shirou's future self. Killed by hercules the berserker in fate route, killed by sakura and gave his left arm to Shirou because he lost one in heaven's feel.
There's a relentless war raging on /a/ between zerofags and FSNfags, and among fatefags, the major clans are HFfags and UBWfags
who have shit tasteand also some fags who like the fate route for some reason but they're not worth mentioning
>more than half the cast left undeveloped / fleshed out
>long dialogues in the middle of fights
>slice of life in a battle royale
>unable to stand on it's own without the shitty C tier source material
>baby's first VN
Sasuga fatefags you really do like anything
I liked more F/Z because of Kiritsugu BTFO of Saber when he told her heroes are even worse than murderers because they justify their killings saying it's for honor and shit
>my birth was not desired and my mom tried to abort me that's why Im retarded
It's okay anon
>I liked more F/Z because of Kiritsugu BTFO of Saber when he told her heroes are even worse than murderers because they justify their killings saying it's for honor and shit
I'm not defending UBW or Fate. I'm telling you you're a fucking faggot for thinking that your taste is objectively best. But hey if we're gonna play this game
>defending Shokugeki no Sakura
Unlimited Blade Works was just a rehash of the original Fate/Stay Night. I mean fuck, same characters, same setting, more or less the same story. It's like the b-plot of a choose your own adventure book that only has one choice.
It's not my taste, UBW is objectively shonenshit with asspulls everywhere and a shitty MC, but hey it's okay if you don't wat to see it
What's my favorite anime ?
Now this we can agree on
And Heaven's Feel isn't shounenshit with asspulls like nine lives blade works? Don't tell me you're one of those faggots who think it's the "mature" route for dealing with rape and whatever. I don't want to slam HF because I know it's good, but it's not particularly better than UBW or Fate.
And dropping your lifelong ideals as well as letting tons of people die for a bit of pussy isn't a shitty MC?
Choosing your loved ones is fine, but UBW Shirou (imo) is the best MC for realizing that his ideals are a fantasy, but he still pushes on because no one can deny the beauty of it (as well as still managing to care for his loved ones).
Fate/Stay Night is a gateway eroge of the worst kind. It's a bad game, a clusterfuck of story and characterization that isn't very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive powerlevel faggotry and DARKNESS. The normal anon can see this as the shit it is, and may enjoy it, hate it or be indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the VN itself, regardless of their opinion, is plain bad.
However, these very aspects that try to smear over the shit of its core make it a breeding ground for aspie, unsociable underageb& faggots who engage in every kind of faggotry both online and in the real world. The superpowered characters all trying their hardest to look cool, the Noble Phantasms, ridiculous, color-coded clothes, the whole Servant faggotry and everything about the Fate/Stay Night world fuels their escapist fantasies, while the pity-party character backgrounds, emphasis on the NATURE of HEROISM, and overall chuuni tone of the VN makes it fit just right with the mary-sueish drives of your average preteen and his sense of unwarranted self-importance towards the world. Exactly the kind of shit that makes little kiddies and underageb& retards eat this shit right the fuck up.
Fate/Stay Night is basically THE franchise to attract the most hated fanbase known to /a/, which is why, regardless of individual opinions, it is the responsibility of every anon to troll the fuck out of this franchise and everyone who likes it, and ensure that no Fate/Stay Night threads ever encourage the newfriends to show their faces here.
Why is Prisma ilya turning into the same grail war bullshit as the rest of the series.
I just want to watch a magical girl anime with lewd girls kissing each other, not the same chuuni fantasy battle royale that's been done to death.
Except choosing to save Sakura isn't in contradiction to his ideals, since it means he can still save her and possibly everyone else.
The issue is that he realizes that, logically, killing Sakura is the best choice since it's the one that has the best chance of saving as many people as possible.
You don't get it. Fate/stay night is a beautiful exercise in the emotional craft of storytelling. It isn't a story about mythological heroes going at war. It's a story about the importance of what heroes represent, and fighting for those ideals. Tightly plotted, thematically consistent, emotionally affecting, and incredibly layered. There's so much more to Fate/stay night than there may seem to be at first glance
UBW's story glides across the surface of an enormous ocean of philosophy. The anime simultaneously questions the metamorphosis of human ideals, man's quest for heroism, etc. If you don't understand the full weight of the words "I was not wrong", you haven't really paid attention.
There are thousands of themes seamlessly woven together. Idealism vs Utilitarianism, the importance of hope in the face of adversity, wishes as an inherently selfish act, cultural expectations of good and evil, the contradictory nature of child heroes, redemption, and a whole bunch mythic revisionism and allegory to top it all off.
Don't get me started on the visuals, every frame tells a second, sometimes even third narrative underneath the first. I think it's statement to its greatness
Nasu crafted not a game, not a "story", but a universe. It's every bit as detailed, every bit as supple and responsive as ours. It's a moving Sistine Chapel ceiling. But it's wasted on the cynics who can't discern between valid artistic statements and disposable crap.
Leave the real criticism to those of us who have done the requisite study to understand what they are talking about. The rest of you can keep the shallow thoughts to yourselves.
>Except choosing to save Sakura isn't in contradiction to his ideals
That's not what the VN says. He goes on ranting how he is betraying them because Sakura is not a victim but also the bad guy.
>tfw you just want to dress Saber up in cute outfits
Which is, itself, a callback to the conversation between Kiritsugu and Shirou about how in a scenario where someone takes a hostage, a hero has to choose to save either the hostage or the hostage taker - which is something Shirou logically knew but argued against because you should still try to save both.
It also ties back into the conversation between Archer and Shirou in Fate, when they're talking about Shirou's determination to not kill will only protect the ideal, but not anything else - that, due to the ideal's nature, it can only be properly made to work by compromising with the death of others.
By choosing Sakura, it's not so much the ideals he betrays as it is his promise to Kiritsugu (which Shirou often conflates).
Can't you just read the VN? He clearly says it he decides to save her because he himself feels like it, in the process he will betray his ideals but he cares more about her than the ideals. He later says right at the end that he was being a hero all along but that is right after all the shit is done so it's a pretty weak come back.
Personally, while the Fate route has its issues, its also the route with the most potential, and seeing as we are now post F/Z, UBW animes, it would have been awesome if TM had also announced a fate readaptation, it would provide not only a better understanding of sabers past, because seriously, F/Z didnt even go deep into sabers past, while UBW only showed one fucking scene of it, a new Fate route anime could present a better route without the pacing issues and, despite understanding that the "you're a gurhl" comments are said because shirou feels the need to not see saber hurt, those should be replaced with something more fitting, it could also expand characters like kirei in regards to rin and iliya to shirou and saber because of their parents.
And lets not forget the legitimately good fights, like saber vs rider in the skyscrapper, saber vs gil, but also the offscreen fights, like properly adapting archer vs berserker, with the overedge shit and 6 or more lives that archer takes, the gil vs lancer fight and the gil vs assassin and kuzuki fight thats mentioned in HA, maybe even change some things about the second berserker fight so that the caliburn thing is less of an asspull, like archer taking more lives than just 6.
A proper church basement scene with the orphans, where both saber and shirou reach some kind of answer about their lives, and a probable adaptation of Last Episode would be awesome.
also listening to Yume no Owari in a anime would be amazing
Great fucking fight scenes but holy shit Shirou was unbelievably annoying.
Show should've focused on Rin, even if Shirou as MC made sense for the Archer identity reveal.
Also Lancer was god tier
>He later says right at the end that he was being a hero all along but that is right after all the shit is done so it's a pretty weak come back.
Why are people too stupid to see the parallels between Kiritsugu saving Shirou and Shirou saving Sakura?
which they can by way of shirous dreams of her past during the fate route
Earlier on I would have agreed with you but with the manga going the way it is I'm not so sure anymore.
It's a decent enough show, but I don't understand what the tremendously big deal is about it. The franchise seems to have a ton of ultra hardcore fanboys on the level of those Love Liver fans in Japan though so that might have something to do with it.
I have only watched like 3 episodes and basically : another shonen-shit that tries really hard to be deep but is nothing more than fight, fight, fight, fight. Pretty much like Naruto but with more emphasis on the "hot" girls to attract beta virgins who masturbate to them and buy their figures.
We established a long time ago that the Crunchy subs for UBW are shit. Literally in episode 1. That screenshot is from episode 20, and there was a three month break between episode 13 and 14. So by the time that episode aired it had been damn near six months since we established the subs were shit.
If it makes the scene difficult to understand, then the translation is wrong,
even if it isn't technically incorrect.
Jokes aside, the end result is clearly confusing, or else people wouldn't have memed it so hard. It could have been done much better.
The only good thing to come out of that is Prisma Illya.
Aside from that it's a very average shonen/chunni franchise with the only defining feature being above average production values.
>pedoshit fapbait with the worse Naruto-tier faggotry in the whole series
>better than anything
Sakura is the best! Heaven's Feel is the best!
She's not even the best kouhai in Fate, senpai.
So I can't post in your imaginary sekrit club if I don't hyperventilate every time there's loli on the screen?
Fuck off, m8.
When will people learn /a/, 4chan really, is often a terrible place to get honest opinions?
I mean if it was up to 4chan there would be no more anime and video games because everyone says it's all shit and you should pirate it.
>wanting /a/ to be a hugbox
It getting an anime was not a bad thing. It getting the first actually good TM anime was the problem.
Unless I'm misremembering what came out when and CP was actually the first good TM anime, in which case the problem was that it was the first actually good non-comedic TM anime.
Why would it die, though? Taking the time to absorb and understand each piece of the larger whole in Kara no Kyoukai reveals a sublimely realised world thick with atmosphere and rich in an imagination, one so excellently poised that it has spawned countless progeny that could frankly never hope to match the breadth of work on display here.
It's the anime of the decade.
how would a Kino adaptation by ufotable be like
