Shiki can appear in All Around Type-Moon anime adaptations though if they'd ever make them. It's pretty good and I liked it way better than Carnival Phantasm and its manga.

I finished the movies (well, except Mirai Fukuin because I didn't get around to download it yet) and I loved it all until the very end of the 7th movie where it went to romancey for me. The epilogue was a disgusting character retcon that doesn't exist for me.
5 is a masterpiece.

All that murder shit in 7 makes no sense, but KnK is still my all time favorite because of 5 which is pretty much the best part of the series.
Also Shiki isn't exactly cute. She's pretty fucking cool though, one of the few female characters I would associate the word 'cool' with.

Hilarious. Admittedly I've only seen the animated films but they are complete and utter garbage. The dialogue, the philosophy and plot are juvenile at best. The characters themselves are totally unrelateable; it begs the question if their author has ever met another human being in their life.

Touko Aozaki's office, "Garan-no-dou," which has appeared numerous times in the series, 12 years later, in 2010, it is neither Touko, nor Shiki and Mikiya who reside there, but the picture book author, Mitsuru Kamekura. "Garan-no-dou" has been transformed into a lush, clean space. Now with a new occupant, and a new look, let's break down "Garan-no-dou"'s transformation.

In order to design the all-new "Garan-no-dou," artistic renderings were created by hand based on the director, Sudo's images. Based on these, a 3-D model was created. The most prominent feature, the numerous plants, is all drawings of specific, real-life plants. Those were placed over the 3-D model and used as references for the artistic design process.

Nobutaka Ike, Art Director: With the change of tenants, from Touko to Mitsuru, it would obviously be decorated differently. But the biggest difference is Mana's presence. The various plants crowding the room and the pool of light we deliberately created around the main desk... we used these to create the sense of an open space. We also chose the brightest colours possible for the racks. Our view of this room is that it's owned by Mana and by the plants.

Tomonori Sudo, Director/Character Designer: The number of plants increased after Mana became a frequent visitor of "Garan-no-dou". Since Mitsuru is like dry sand, it was a dreary-looking place 2 years before Mana came here. Watering them has changed the room, as well as Mitsuru himself. I also removed all magic-related items and placed modern items in the room. The TVs and chair are relics left behind by Touko.

Why Takeuchi?

Kara no Kyoukai is so boring. Most recently I watched part 5 and it was soooooooo long and so uninteresting. There is just talking and darkness and it's not interesting. If I remember correctly some of the movies were okay but overall it's just uninteresting. It reminds me a bit of Fate Zero actually with all the darkness and endless talking, and both were boring.

Never understood why people think 4 isn't important. It clearly establishes her loss of SHIKI and how it affected her outlook on life in general, as well as her connection to the Root.

It was like watching a rough-cut writer in his youth as he voiced out his thoughts to the world, forming a select cast of introverted characters (something that people seem to miss) that embodied a special characteristic or tale he wanted to tell. Compared to his future works, I also loved how the lore and philosophy in KnK borrowed a lot of ideas from various psychology concepts and religions (mainly Taoism and Judeo-Christian), so much that it actually felt like a genuine experience instead of just random ideas that Nasu created to make an arbitrary world or rule system. How KnK played with the paranormal investigative genre by delving into the notion of taboo/sin and how some of the world's seemingly unexplained phenomena are informed through the strife of its characters almost reminded me of how Monogatari used its supernatural premise to prop up its characters' inner workings instead of the other way around.

Looking back, I really have hard time picturing Type-Moon and Ufotable ever making something interesting and undiluted as Kara no Kyoukai. It was a combination of Nasu at his prime young age pouring out his heart and beliefs all for the world to see (he even said so and it's why he feels awkward about KnK) as well as a studio that seemed like dedicated fans that were up to the challenge of actually adapting a work with such enthusiasm and dedication.

As an aside, I could hardly dislike what happened to Movie 6 given the touchy nature of EK in Japan.
