And sign for shit tsundere
>voiced by Rie Kugimiya or Marina Inoue
Holy shit, american classic tsundere indeed
What's wrong with her? She's a classic type and reminds me of a type b (high dere than tsun ratio) type of Emi, albeit regular tsun instead of harsh hostility.
So does everyone else in the anime. She fits more as a Tsundere than a Kuudere.
Taiga is love. Toradora /a/ Christmas feelings still freshly lingers in me.
Yami, no Yui
When it comes to tsundere, I don't really care about the type.
I just need to understand why the fuck they act the way they do. I guess I can accept that some people might just be "like that", but the line between a device and a character in my opinion is comprehension. They don't have to be likeable, I don't really need to relate to them, but I want some explanation instead of some handwave.
Dr .Pepper and tsundere = moe. Japan sure has a thing for this.
Dr pepper is a drink of the gods, so i understand their decision
you need a proper balance of tsun and dere.
The tsundere cannot be a straight up bitch who treats the hero like shit for no reason and the tsunness needs to be played more comical or as a direct result of the heroine becoming embarrassed. pic related is Claire from Blade Dance, who is the literal worst.
The first thing she does is bitch out the hero for saving her life.
Then she breaks into a sealed shrine and needs to be rescued again because she got in over her head because she's a stupid bitch. THEN after the hero saves her once more she demands he be her slave on the spot. THEN she throws tantrum after tantrum, nearly gets everyone killed at least once more.
THEN she has a screaming tantrum and kicks the hero out into the cold because he had the nerve to be friends with someone else.
Jesus. It's like you'd blame Emi for being a bitch to Maou even though she did have reasons to. You sound like a lot like a troll. Either way, I'll bite. Claire is a decent tsundere, actually above decent. Kamito messed up any possibility Claire might had to subdue Est. Claire is a prideful girl and is temperamental. She rather die with honor from trying than to face humiliation that a someone else took the chance from her. On top of that, she's a girl who had no friends growing up since people shunned her due to her sister's sins, which that made her grow it an abrasive girl who acts strong to show no weakness and to prove others wrong. So, since Kamito got Est instead of her, she got upset and forced him to become her servant to make up for what he did.
The main point of her development is having a bad encounter with Kamito. They relationship goes through a few changes. Claire uses rightful claim of "master" as an excuse to hide her feelings that troubles her because she doesn't know how to deal with them yet, being young and still a child at heart. By the end of the anime, she comes to appreciate and is happy that she got to meet Kamito and is helpful of what he has done. They
>Kamito messed up any possibility Claire might had to subdue Est.
She had ZERO possibility to get Est. What's more she broke into a sealed shrine to do it and nearly got her bitch ass killed.
You don't get to turn around and shit on the person who saves you when you nearly get killed breaking the rules to do something you had no shot at.
> Claire is a prideful girl and is temperamental. She rather die with honor from trying than to face humiliation that a someone else took the chance from her.
>On top of that, she's a girl who had no friends growing up since people shunned her due to her sister's sins
> So, since Kamito got Est instead of her, she got upset and forced him to become her servant to make up for what he did.
You mean saved her life? Yeah what a bastard.
She has no high ground here.
When her hostility is just natural reaction to unpleasant MC's behavior/situation and she became dere gradually and permanently once she get more comfortable.
Shitty tsunderes that are so mean and irrational that it could be classified as mental illness, are just plain pandering to masochists and should be pruned.
You might reach that conclusion because you are the audience who learned that as the story unfolds, but not to Claire who holds out with a glimmer of hope. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
No matter what, Kamito interrupted when she was trying to subdue Est. From her perspective, he definitely got in the way. If she were to lose her life then so be it. She's the type who gives it her all and see it through and she has too much pride to admit that she got saved if she believed she had a possible chance.
No, not really. They're rivals more than friends.
The fact you pay so much attention to the first encounter that set up bad impressions that is typical to tsundere formula and don't stress about character development makes me think you are either a very biased hater or Claire is your first bitchy classic tsundere who has lots of pride and tough act.
Tsundere is love. Tsundere is life.
>You might reach that conclusion because you are the audience who learned that as the story unfolds, but not to Claire who holds out with a glimmer of hope. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
She's literally in the remedial class. Just because she THINKS she can get it doesn't make it so and the fact that she thinks that way at all given her rank is proof enough that she's just being a big headed bitch.
>No matter what, Kamito interrupted when she was trying to subdue Est. From her perspective, he definitely got in the way. I
And again, he got in the way of her STEALING AND TRESPASSING. She had no skill to get Est and even less CLAIM to do it.
EST IS NOT HERS. She has no right to be in that shrine and she has no right to sword. So she's mad that the MC didn't let her steal shit? You're not actually painting her in a better light.
>The fact you pay so much attention to the first encounter that set up bad impressions that is typical to tsundere formula and don't stress about character development
She treats him like this all through the series and even towards the end throws bitch fit if he even so much as talks to another girl.
He couldn't even so much as take a part time job (to buy her a present no less) without her coming down on him.
>is your first bitchy classic tsundere who has lots of pride and tough act.
Other Tsunderes being shit doesn't make Claire good.
Damn right. The purest and most rich sweetest.
You keep missing the point.
Claire is in a class for problem children and not necessarily a class full of kids who have the worst scores. And even if it is a dumb decision, she still wants to try because has confidence and is burning with determination.
Claire wasn't stealing. She knows about the sword's history that's common knowledge so the sword itself doesn't belong to the school. A person worthy enough can subdue the sword then they become the owner. It's that sort thing. From her perspective, Kamito got in the way and robbed her of any possible chance of winning over Spirit Est. She got angry and blamed him, and that's how their relationship begin.
>She treats him like this all through the series
Slander. Claire kept a tight rein on her servant in the early story, but mid way and towards the end the rein loosen up and Claire showed weakness when face with threat of Kamito getting taken away from her. But she does get touchy about the idea of Kamito getting taken away from her. She acts like a clingy child whose precious toy she loves a lot, but hides her feelings for is going to be stolen from her. But she doesn't act bitchy to other girls except maybe Rinslet whom she has a rivalry with, but that goes two ways since Rinslet does the same.
Her bitchiness severely diminishes over time as she grows closer to Kamito. In the end, she is glad she met Kamito. The consideration and sincere affectionate feelings for him is clear as day.
She has reasons behind her tsun that relates to her personality and adequate development that's neither rushed nor lacking with Kamito that makes the bond between them believable. She steadily progresses to dere, plus she is hella cute. Add that up and you have an above decent tsundere.
Look, your bias is transparent. There's no point in furthering arguing with you. We can sum it up with agree to disagree, but I believe it's clear who has the weaker position here.
>And sign for shit tsundere

A good background story that justifies the way she behaves. ie Taiga's family problems that lead her to have trust issues.
This way you can also explain why the character develops and changes through the story.
When you create a character just to fit the archetype, it sucks.
Not him, but:
>She acts like a clingy child
In other words, an annoying bitch?
>I believe it's clear who has the weaker position here.
Yeah, it's you, because you eat up this generic trash without even questioning it.
>was late for xmas
>sceduled valentine rewatch
>cant w8 for the feels
