Goku vs Piccolo and Goku vs Frieza
>Ha, jokes on you, I spent time in the hyperbolic time chamber and became one with my sword, making me infinitely stronger than you
>Implying that was a good fight
>Goku vs Piccolo
That one was nice, yeah.
>Goku vs Frieza
Lol no. They were just yelling at each other. The fight was absolute crap, in fact most fights in DBZ are and aren't really engaging at all.
>Lol no. They were just yelling at each other
>in fact most fights in DBZ are and aren't really engaging at all.
It's time to take off the nostalgia goggles and face reality, Anon.
>Ha, jokes on you, I spent time in the hyperbolic time chamber and became one with my sword, making me infinitely stronger than yo
Implying that Aizen fought fair and square. in the end if it wasn't for urahara. ichigo would have probably died (no spoilers thought)
>Implying that Aizen fought fair and square. in the end if it wasn't for urahara. ichigo would have probably died (no spoilers thought)
Anon, it's not about fair and square fighting. Asspulls are expected in Bleach. No, the fight wasn't really engaging at all. There was no struggle, which is what makes a good fight in my opinion.
That and Naruto vs Neji are the best Nuruto fights.
Not even the best fight in Bleach
Best Ippo fight is Sendo vs Ippo title match
Goku vs Piccolo is the best DB ever was
My brother, for as much as its shit on, Toriko's fights are fucking great
I'm still not sure which of these I prefer
it wasn't even a contest.
If we're discussing Bleach fights, then Ichigo vs Grimmjow was easily the best one.
maybe not the best fight ever but insanely satisfying to read and made it a really good ending for a manga that went downhill halfway through
I'll post some.
Luffy vs Lucci
Netero vs Meruem
Kenshin vs Sojiro
Kenshin vs Saito
Most underrated fight in DBZ is Piccolo vs. 17, its like they thought they'd go back to the DB days and actually animate a fight rather than random energy blasts and powerups although Piccolo's light grenade was pretty based.
I might be overhyping it because its new but the last episode of Gintama had a great fight between Gintoki and Takasugi, when
Takasugistarted punching the shit out of Gintokiwith the voice actors nailing it, it was incredible.
Nah, this fight is boring as the ones in the quincy arc, no real tension, just power level bullshit.
Byakuya vs ichigo was good because they were almost equally matched.
Aizen vs ichigo was just ichigo winning effortless for 99% of the fight, when Aizen was finally able to fight back and hurt ichigo kubo ended the fight with a bigger and more boring version of GT, because one sided fights are really interesting and fun to watch.
Such an amazing fight in all honesty.
If you're gonna go with a Naruto fight other than GaaraxLee (which is by far the best one) you have to go with SaukexItachi, or if you don't wan tto go to the shitfest that is Shippuden you can go with NarutoxSasuke. There's just too much payoff there for it not to be better than NejixNaruto, which I honestly don't think is that good.
Also, My contribution to the thread:
>hating on Ki blasts
I liked the Kid Buu fight compared to any DBZ villain, with exception of 17 like here >>136267974 for the same reason.
Kid Buu was fun, he would do some many bullshit gimmicks with his gum-like body and just piss off Goku and Vegeta.
I just don't know why they became scared little shits about actual hand to hand combat.
gotta go with Uvogin taking on those shadows
that's not Lee vs Gaara
>became scared little shits about actual hand to hand combat.
They didn't you just don't remember the fights well.
but I do agree with Buu having a cool moveset.
Ippo vs. Sendo, first match and of course the title match.
Chills every single time.
Remember when Gaara was supposed to be this all-powerfull child prodigy?
Yeah, he wouldn't stand a fucking chance late shippuden 'cause lol, no sharingan, get rekt son.
I read Naruto for a while. It was fun when Kishimoto wasn't taking it seriously and kept it mostly tongue-in-cheek. It went to dog shit when he took his tongue out of his cheek and shoved it up Sasuke's ass.
Sojiro was honestly final boss tier. His ability was so bullshit.
He's also the best character in Kenshin
>you replied to a lot of things at once rather then making multiple posts and making the thread reach bump limit faster
>so you're a pleb
thats what you sound like, I have a slight feeling this might be bait and if so, well done you got me
>no Yahiko vs Grenade Launcher Man animated
Touma vs Accelerator was massively improved in Railgun. Thankfully Nagai stopped being a shit for the sisters arc.
Heavens Feel anime is going to be hype as fuck.
Not trying to be that guy who thinks Fate is the perfection of the universe, but the whole story has important bits everywhere, I imagine it hard to cut out scenes. At best they can skip obvious explanations or revelations that we all already know and dont need to be repeated again for the Nth time. But still, it will be really rushed.
Best fight I've ever read. Mifune's attacks were so creative and Black Star's weapon reveals were really cool.
Everyone knows that Killer bee vs Taka was the best fight in Nurutu
Best Boss fight. Saitama VS Boros
Asuka vs MP Evas
The only fight in anime to not look like a hong kong wire-fu movie.
The only "Giant Robot" fight where the combatants actually move like they weight 100+ tons, and not 60KG humans on crack.
i barely watch anime anymore since 2010 and i still know whats the best fight in anime.
sword of the stranger https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rR1cMPnMcaY
there has NEVER been a fight better than this. based on animation
Yes, Sendo disappears mostly except for exposition and reactions during fights. I don't know what you have against him though.
Not continuing means you miss Takamura's GOAT fights.
Pretty much what >>136278369 also Kimura and Aoki actually acheive something, Kimura has a title match with
Mashibawhich was made into an OVA and its fucking great and Aoki fights a champion I cant remember which is pretty fun, and in the mangaHayami and Kobashi from Rookie Kings get a match against each other, which wasnt adapted and takes place just before the OVAs
Came here to post this
Seriously? I never knew that, I picked up the manga after what happened in Rising.
Also manga has some fucking awesome fights, like pic related, or Vorg's world title match, or even Mashiba vs Sawamura, so many good ones
Domon and Master Asia's final duel
Final Battle of G Gundam
Haman vs. Sirocco
Getter Robo Armaggedon finale
Joe Yabuki vs. Anyone
Kamen Rider Black vs. Shadow Moon
Ken vs. Raoh
Great to hear, Ippo's fucking great with season 1 being fucking 11/10, the Aoki fight is season 2/3
The fight between Kobashi and Hayami is about chapter 520-ish iirc, its pretty good, definetely worth reading
>manga has some fucking awesome fights
It really does, Ippo vs Kojima was great as well all that build up, that punch where Ippo sends the guy into a double backflip and that panel with Ippo looking scary just before is great, Ippo vs Scratch J was neat because I liked the fact he was fighting the guy Miyata developed the Jolt Counter against
forgot the image anyway
I agree. I know that Enishi probably was a more emotionally difficult battle for Kenshin, but in terms of ability alone, Sojiro had his card.
Had Sojiro not had any mental breakdowns, he could have taken Kenshin out, with Hiko being pretty much the only guy able to stop him.
Beelzebub is amazing when it knows when to balance its serious and gag moments.
>Oga vs Toujo
I still fucking love that fight, shame Beelzebub shit the bed near the end, at least Bangai-Hen made up for it by having a heartwarming ending.
all I ever wanted was to hear baby's first words and to have it be "Oga".
I'm happy with this, though.
>all I ever wanted was to hear baby's first words and to have it be "Oga"
I just imagined that, would have been really sweet
Best Ippo fight was against Jason Ozuma
thar shit made me cry
Yeah, Ippo vs Kojima's fight was pretty good, with all the build up. Still, I think the fights the other characters got were more entertaining than Ippo's, maybe cause we've already seen him fighting a lot
This Sendo fight was fucking great, man all of his fights are awesome
I can't think of another fight scene that conveys mass and scale as well as that one.
Mostly the animators just make the robots slow, or add dust clouds/sound effects, but they all move like man in suits or ballet dancers. They don't consider the fact that when a 40 meter tall mech swings a full length punch, that fist is moving at over 200 km/hour. Eva is unique because the evas are not animated as humans then scaled up.
Pay attention to the details in that fight, when the Eva recoil from the lance impacts, their foot slides back and takes out a small hill. When Asuka rolls to avoid, the inertia keeps her rolling for a while. When she swings that lance in an overhead, that thing leaves shockwaves behind not only because of the displacement, but also because the tip of the lance is close to the speed of sound and leaving shock cones.
Kaiji vs The Bog
Technically the whole Dark Tournament was great, but Yusuke vs Toguro was great. Shout out to Genkai vs Toguro
I don't even care if their actions made no fucking sense and is the equivalent to button mashing, it's clear a good chunk of Naruto's stellar popularity comes from whatever the fuck reason their anime manages to keep pulling in great choreographers.
I didn't like Imaizumi at all until this happened, then suddenly I was hype as fuck.
>most fights in DBZ are and aren't really engaging at all.
What is Vegeta vs. Android 19, Gohan vs.Perfect Cell, or Vegeta vs. Goku. Hell even Tien's brief fight with Semi-Perfect Cell is badass. Tbh I or less agree with you on the rest of the fights though. In context they're more entertaining after building a villain up, but out of it, meh.
Piccolo vs 17 was the last and greatest Piccolo fight.
I was looking for this, the whole fight was fantastic and suffered from very little bullshit
>Sasuke getting completely curbstomped for the first time ever
You have to admit that that was where 80% of the enjoyment in that fight came from.
Anime did a good job with Killer Bee's sword style, I found. Shame he lost most of the swords and we never saw him fight like that again.
It's a shounen first, cooking manga second.
There's some damn good combat scenes here and there, ridiculously over the top, gory and fun.
>"Sorry guys" my ass. You won, dumbass.
Holy shit, that moment was great.
you're all faggots, this here is a poroper example of a good fight
Two guys in a barefist fight
Mano a mano
>losing a fight because your leg was shorter
They both hit each-other...Roshi was just able to get back on his feet whereas Goku was knocked out and couldn't move
>losing a fight by pure luck because you were hit by a car
He was hit by a delivery truck not a car
Goddamn...back when they couldn't really fly
It really is so fucking fun to read.
>One must always begin with the art of imitation.
OP here Yeah that's what i thought.
However people seem to favour close fights like ichigo vs byaguya and ichigo vs grimmjow where the two people fighting where equally matched to each other on what i totally agree.
Actually, it's by far not at its worst right now. Pretty fun to read, especially that showcase of Eight Kings.
If it will go further with power levels, they will end up with some hilariously broken conceptual abilities.
Love Toriko for its overpowered as shit animals.
>Let me just stick giant utensils underneath my feet, that'll help
90% of you are like the weeb equivalent of basic bitches
SoaS is awesome, but best part of this fight is when Blondie offer MC those magical painkillers and he refuse. Blondie is so excited that he also don't take them. He was disappointed about spearman when he learned that he has taken the pills.
This one right here.
Every bleach fight let's be honest.
Same anon here, I loved that arc as well, but then I also knew there were like 6 more kings and it was probably going to repeat the same formula as the first 2 kings and didn't want to sit through that.
It's recent but dear god. Sunrise really knows how to fanservice.
>Lee vs Gaara
This fight is overrated and shows you never went past the beginning.
Choji vs Jirobo is better
Neji vs Spiderman is better
Gaara vs Kimimaro is better
Naruto vs Sasuke is better
Sasuke vs Deidara
Itachi vs Sasuke
Jiraiya vs Pain
Naruto vs Pain
Obito vs Kakashi was much better
Madara vs the alliancia too
Obito vs Kiri Anbu
And there's more
Not the anon you replied to, but the perceived "shittyness" of a show has got no bearing on the achievements of any skilled animators who worked on it. Good work can be acknowledged as a standalone offering.
Come on, /a/.
Sure. But if we were talking about animation, that would be one thing. I have no problem acknowledging the skill of the people who work on Naruto and would do so.
But we're not. We're talking about fight scenes. Fight scenes are not just eye candy, they are part of the story, they mean things. They tell a part of the story, usually a very exciting and important part, so how they are told is very important.
You have to take into account things like how they are, what it is saying, and what it's purpose is the story. And individually, you have to look at how it's put together, you have to look at the choreography, the beats, the elements which are chosen and everything else.
And Naruto's fight scenes are a part of the story and they are still as much of a boring, sloppy mess as the rest of the story which should really surprise no one.
Honestly speaking I would say most of the matches and even practices in All-rounder Meguru are some of the best put to paper for manga. It's not typical melodrama or kids shouting at each other like buffoons, there is a lot of critique and analysis of the techniques used.
Really? I've always thought it's very fluent. For instance here you can see the setup for what comes next from the first panel showing the holding of the wrists.
That's a good thing
>has tons of shadow clones
>doesn't use them
this in a ylyl thread will claim lives
also Daizaemon Kaze vs Demon Aliens
Welp, time to watch this movie again. God I fucking love it so much.
I personally prefer the part where he finally draws his sword for the first time throughout the movie and right after he cuts that guy in half, he throws his sword several yards through the air into that guy to save the kid. Holy fuck that moment was so hype. I remember fucking losing it when I first saw that scene.
Archer vs Lancer, season 1
Lancer vs Archer, season 2
Excellent choice, especially since Balsa technically doesn't "win" the fight overall. I was so afraid that they were going to have her beat a group of expertly trained grown men all by herself simply because she was the MC, therefore she was supposed to win.
been 14 years and still gives me the chills
Job City, Bitch
Best fight was hands down Ulquiorra vs ichigo
homeboy died like a bitch
hole in his chest n everything
Ichigo vs byakuya was a great as well
and every fight with kenpachi doesn't count because his fights are god mode
