Ok so I'm still catching up to the latest chapters but what was the point of introducing Vamirio as the protagonist at the beginning of the manga if she disappears after few chapters?
Sorry but to me it just seems like a bad writing. Discuss.
I bet she's the king, that's why she disappeared and let anne go with helck. If it's just some noob from management, she knows she'll drag helck down and possibly get him killed.
A noblebright lure to a plot full of tragedies.
There is a science behind the story's opening act; the reader is initially made to believe that the plot is "supposed hero that killed the demon lord tries to usurp the position through a tournament".
Anne from management seems pretty competent though, I think Vamirio must have made a pretty big mistake if they let most likely, the most highly skilled from management watch over Helck.
I'm still unsure if the author is a master ruseman or simply a master at improvisation with how suddenly this manga shifts tone.
Anne-chan or Vamirio-chan?
Read the last Rollo update.
So since chapter 1 he was not lying about his objective, mind fucking blown.
Did this look like the face of someone lying to you?
Cheer up anon, Anne from management already set the flag and is already in the right route leading good end. Helck is saved.
That's fucking disrespectful, delete this right now!
I hope you die in a painful way anon.
This faggot in particular is why Helck lost hope in humanity.
Where you on /a/ when claymore had been dropped by scanlation groups for a few years, and then suddenly one guy, by himself, scanlated all of the backlog in a short period of time, and then suddenly /a/ talked about Claymore a fuck ton?
It's like that. This series wasn't scanlated, was under the radar, and then suddenly an /a/ guy shows up and scans it, all by himself, and it raises the profile of the series.
It also helps that manga has some decent writing, endearing characters, and surprises.
the true hero and king we deserve but not the ones we need right now
Doesn't look like it. If the curse is similar of that of the dark knight, chances are that the bodies will crumble after the spell is lifted. There are so many similarities between the awakening and the dark curse which struck the city of the dark knight.
Shit, I was going to post the next page instead, but this works as well
>please tell Azudora-sama
>be careful of that man
>new world power among human
Hasn't Rello almost translated them all? how many of us will leave once its weekly? will Rello even be able to stay with it when he can only do one a week?
I'm not ready for this ride to end
Is this the biggest twist in manga history? I still can't get over it. What a shocker.
Lazy asspull. Two completely unrelated characters turn out to be the same? I'd expect this from Bleach.
They looked the same, but that's just lazy sameface bullshit from the author.
Helck hid his power level for the majority of the time. He is actually much stronger whenever the black eldritch miasma is leaked out.
His power could actually be unchartable by the demon's system.
Flustered Anne, evil Anne or frown Anne, which one is the best?
Nice try faggot.
Anne even explicitly states that she's not a heavenly king in chapter 7.
Vidjagaems, that's why all the level jokes
Awakened hero = RPG protagonist. They explicitly point out that the most important part of awakening is the ability to gain levels quickly, which explains why NPCs are always so weak in games.
Slightly frowned tender caring Anne
>Once everything is over...
She's gonna die.
You don't understand how it works.
-Absolute dogshit manga is idolized by a group of 2 people
-They shill the fuck out of it all over the place
-People start reading it and say it's shit
-Damage control out the ass
-It gets animated anyway
-People who wouldn't have read the manga anyway see it because watching anime is easier and faster
-Now that everyone knows what's it about, everyone can shit on it for being absolute dog shit
Helck is already popular (51 unique posters in 111 posts so far) and yet /a/ still likes it, i.e. it isn't a dogshit series liked only by circlejerking retards.
Then explain how One Punch Man used to have daily threads without shitposting and as soon as the anime started being aired everyone started shitposting. /a/ might be different from the rest of 4chan but it's still part of the site, it's in this site's userbase's nature to act contrarian and shit on everything a large group of people enjoys. It happens in every goddamn board all the time.
That's not how shitting on series works either.
Let me demonstrate:
> I like it better when it was called Berserk
> Poor man's
> RPG(said in green). It's shit
> Mememan in fantasyland
OPM's early chapters are extremely week. It's ONE's style: the setup is done in a comedic setting and then there's a smooth transition toward more and more serious topics. Moreover, the anime was full QUALITY in many places. Notice how the shitposting became lesser and lesser as the anime progressed and notice how it was fairly light from the get go.
>watching anime is easier and faster
>the anime was full QUALITY in many places.
Are you blind or do you just not know what "QUALITY" means? The strongest thing about One Punch Man was its animation and the visuals, it's why it received only praise on that front. If anything what was really handled poorly was the pacing, but still it doesn't matter because it's one of the top rated anime of all time in basically any internet site now. Even on IMDB where spergs rarely accept anime because of le miyazaki meme. And yet the threads when the anime was airing were unbearable, at some point during when the seaweed monster episode was being aired they turned into an abomination that rivaled the naruto threads.
Even so, OPM still has the problem of repeating the joke too often even though it is the entire premise, the quality of the story is lacking in anticipation for a good fight otherwise everything is anticlimactic and we would still expect that again and again. Helck has a different way. Let me make another reply.
You can stream an episode and get 2-4 chapters done with. If it's shit you can drop it, and because you've seen 2-4 chapters instead of just one, it's faster. There are way fewer anime airing than mangas updating so it's much easier to track.
The "big guy confident in his strength gets rekt in a single punch" joke is only played 2-3 times. The rest of the time, saitama is dealing with the consequence of being significantly stronger than anyone else to the point he can't give a crap about much of anything. This includes when he almost jeopardized the entire hero association's reputation, when he almost destroyed a city and was framed as a villain for it, when people treat him like trash because he raises too fast up the ranks, the unheroic attitude of the other heroes who had to claw their way up, etc.
Helck has a build up from the beginning. The setting is mundane at first considering there are rpg levels. But that gets quickly over written as the world building is seen from characters perspective and seeing what is wrong and the mystery unfolding as to what is going on. The comedy aspect is having a humorous punch line to whatever seems comical like a tsukkomi. It does not seem old as the same jokes are not repeated and comes only occasionally. The characters are unique to us as they do not follow a particular archetype alot of times and their personalities are fleshed out in a positive way. By now, the quality of the story is greater than OPM, to me. I could say more, do you want me to?
I know of that point. But that is not the answer. You are speaking of points in the story. I'm talking about the story overall. Like the big problem is also with the setting where it is taking place. You get the normal idea of monsters attacking and invading cities. But rather, the problem lies with how the world can respond. It cannot just take place in japan. Also having cities named a, b and c is rather mundane. How does the rest of the world respond? Why are monsters only centered in only japan? Why go there when you can destroy other parts of the world and so on.
You could say the same thing about literally any series. Helck is absolutely not immune to it either. All we've seen is one human city and 1.5 demon world location. That's not much different from having seen just Z and A city.
One or two anons start some shitpost. Others start copying them because they think it's funny, until someone is stupid enough to not ignore them and post an answer. Then the thread start to get derailed. See >>136257242
At that point, if the group of anons on the threads is big enough, it's doomed.
The bigger the group is, the most likely it is to happen, doesn't matter if the original work is good or not.
What the fuck are you talking about?
OPM world is a giant pangea in the shape of Saitama's prefecture in Japan.
The cities are the capitals of the countries.
I don't know, I'm not happened to be an expert in this subject of shitpost and derailment.
To think the previous days' threads with about 100 anons in were actually tamer than this. We humans are such a sad race.
The new cities do not have anything new to offer. You really don't realize that. Meanwhile Helck is able to have little by little show the idea of what is happening as to hints of the awakening spreading to other parts of the world and how it is being affected . Meanwhile in OPM, monster attacks city and one punch by Saitama while the OP villains beat the crap out of other heroes and Saitama saves their asses and gets repeated again and again.
I've read everything up to the current chapters and read the original. I know what I am saying. I've seen that pattern every so often in the manga. I even went up to Saitama technically beating whiny little loli bitch.
>I am butthurt that I was refuted thoroughly so that means OPM fans have no developing credibility
>I bet they can't even invert the subquark manifold to power the accelerating cascade matrix
You have anything to say other than trying to insult me? Otherwise you are not defending OPM and clearly what I have said made Helck better at storytelling. You need to make a good constructive argument otherwise you are considered talking out of your own ass.
Guys, guys. I think I figured something out, Anne is obviously hiding something, and that something is a secret identity. That's right, Anne from accounting is actually
Batman. Think about it, have you ever seen them together?
As much as I like this series, it's just a typical flavor of the month thing on /a/. Every other month or so a manga series gets really popular on the board as /a/ catches up on translations.
I know, it was one of those stupid mistakes. I was thinking management, knew it was management, yet somehow still typed accounting because my hands apparently have a mind of their own, and they're idiots.
> just a typical flavor of the month
Remove that kind of thinking, like, right now. This type of "typical flavor of the month" has brought many a mango that were either in obscurity or long abandoned by scanlators. And then, out of the fucking nowhere, some nobody anonymous person decided to gift the community with their hard work. It's a beautiful thing.
People like you who look down on it because it's a typical thing that occasionally happens have left me in despair! Not enough to make me lost hope in humanity though, my waifu must be sullied first.
Indeed. In fact, I've heard tales of how Trump himself makes use of her services whenever he's tired of firing people. Supposedly, she can burn through even senior staff members in an instant, making them leave without even their severance packages.
I'm rello's family. He died this morning after 3 long years of fighting cancer. He wanted to create something before he departed so he made these translations possible. It was sudden, he was so close to catching up.
I've been on /a/ since 2008, I know what I said made you guys think I was an outsider, but the point is, 4chan is know for its unusual posters and joke, so even if it's 4chan, making a death joke on a very liked translator isn't fucking funny you piece of shits.
>taking the time to find the manga, find the chapters of the manga, download the chapters of the manga, and then open the chapters in whatever reader you use
>or just press play and drop it after 10 minutes which you were spending while doing other things anyway
Do you not know what it means, or did you not notice his broken English? Either way, you might be an idiot.
Here's a hint - if you'd been here since 2008, you'd have been long desensitized to things much more unacceptable than that joke.
You guys realize we only have 10 chapters left before we're caught up, right?
rello is doing us a favor by slowing down. Because once we're caught up, the waiting for new chapters will be week-long.
If by any chance this series would get an anime, who could be good voices for the characters? For example:
Azudora - Tomokazo Sugita (Gintoki in Gintama)
Rafaed - Jouji Nakata (Alucard in Hellsing)
I really cant think of a good actor for Helck and Vamirio
I'm Rello's hamster. That's not Rello's dog! Rello's dog's body was just discovered at his home. He's been dead for at least three days. I didn't know because my Codec link with Rello's dog was cut off.
What tea, bro? Also glorious rello is here.
>went literally nowhere
I WAS FOOLED AGAIN.
>I can just be Anne when I'm around him.
>fucking dragon balls
This manga, man.
End of Chapter 55
That's it for now. But I'm going full throttle until we catch up.
If Vamirio alone could stop a dragon at Level 72 (last I remember), her and Helck together should be able to trash anything that isn't full Hero/King tier in their path unless we're hit with a surprise, shouldn't they?
Thank you so much rello, you're so damn awesome.
Vamirio is top 6 in the Empire, and Helck seems to be extremely op.
Defeating the humans and clearing the awakening fiasco seems to be the main arc, especially with the flashback we got and everything.
That's not all there is to it. Helck threads have been great and they have roughly the same number of ips than other popular manga threads. The community here has been fundamentally different from the one in the other threads because it's still a relatively new series and rello has been a fucking angel.
i'm still convinced this is the future of now and all the demons and shit are completely genetically engineered, this will lead to all kinds of sci-fi shenanigans later while trying to deal with the wastes from the past that is the NWO.
Counter-point: there are two moons in the sky. If this is Earth then that's a point that'll need explaining.
However, there's a chance that Earth might be the Other World that keeps getting mentioned. That's why the human conspirators are so interested in returning to it.
Can't wait till Piuy dies and everything goes to hell again.
The world design in this manga keeps getting deeper and deeper. And yet it doesn't feel like the author is ever showing off -- everything is there for a narrative purpose.
/a/ starts to hate a manga when the threads for it start going to shit.
Which inevitably happens as a series grows more popular unfortunately.
Relish the comfy threads while they last anon.
Well, both series focus on the theme of having this one, out-of-place looking main character, with an unlimited power, yet Helck actually has some depth to it, as opposed to le meme punch man, where the main character is just bland and boring as shit.
Hell, whole MA arc was good, until the fucker showed up and ruined it, yet Helck is the completely opposite of that and actually plays a part in the story without being too overbearing.
The meme comparison comes out from the main similarity of both series, yet Helck doesn't feel like a meme, however it's only a matter of time before you will see shit like "LOL HELCK VS SAITAMA WHO'S STRONGER", especially if the OPM fanbase ever catches the wind of this series.
This is Anne from management and Piuy.
Why is the sky blue?
Because he's the fucking Azure Dragon of the East. Get your asses ready to be rooted, filthy humans!
What are you talking about, >>136272459 specifically said it was Anne from management, the others were Vamirio of the E4.
And yes Azudora took care of Vamirio when she was a kid.
Rococo seems to be one of the higher up underlings considering her staff position.
Hon, a direct subordinate to Azudora was shown to be decently powerful since he was capable of using barriers strong enough to fend against Vamirio.
I wonder how powerful Rococo is if she has any actual combat capacity.
There's a clear hierarchy in positions, but what about direct subordinates to all of those positions?
>you'll never be able to protect these precious frowns
Might as well stop prosper
She's shouldering the frowns of every demons in the empire so they could keep smiling all the time.
And I also happen to recognize this title page is actually in the train.
what's good about it honestly? im reading and there's nothing except holding out for the mysterious background of Helck keeping me going
we got: lame tsundere lead female and mysterious plot device after plot device
It honestly feels like the author just picked a bunch of random ideas and threw them into a plot without concern for narrative progression. I mean witch sama is flagging hard as Anne from the future
Don't bite the degenerated human's silly bait, he is desperate to fight you!
She's hardly a tsundere, she was simply afraid of Helck on the first few chapters because the guy is a killing machine. There's no tsun and definitely no dere. Once she discovers his true nature, she's amicable towards the guy.
