The 3D is mediocre, I've certainly seen better. In fact Bubuki Buranki this very season is an example of better animated 3D CG.

Ultimately I feel that maybe in 5-10 more years when animators have had more practice and increases in computing power provide better tools 3D anime might actually start to be decent in comparison to 2D (though 2D will still be superior, the best 3D can hope for is to make a form of 3D animation that can imitate 2D animation, which isn't that bizarre considering Japan is already working on stuff like that).
