How does one get into Gundam? Like.. Where do I start?

At the start. Then you watch the UC TV series in order, then the OVAs in whatever order you want, and then you watch whatever else you want in whatever order you want.

Or watch Turn A and 0080 and drop it because those are really the only good ones.

It honeslty depends on what you're looking for.

If you're looking for the lineage and classic, then you want the main Gundam universe which is Universal Century (UC). Consequently, this one needs the most time dedicated to it, spanning many shows across decades.

Ironically watching most Gundam, specially UC wise is really only gonna give you background and reference detail on the more modern and detailed series these days, ranging from Unicorn and Thunderbolt for the moar dakka to Origins which is an alternate take kinda like how 3 Kingdoms has billions of variations, to the Ark Performance manga which are universally hailed as top tier but sadly requires you to understand UC Gundam to really get the most out of it.

It's an anime that's stood the test of time and has spawned a mass-following. I think you need to at least check it out to see if you like it, particularly if you're a mecha/space politics fan.

If the prospect of such a large library is intimidating, that's because it is. The series has been put on a pedastal by so many people that it's essentially a must watch, but don't force yourself to watch it.

Personally, I started off with Unicorn (which actually happens right at the end of the timeline). I didn't get any references, so I went to other sources instead of watching the shows.

A great place to start off is 00. It's actually a decent series (never mention the second/movie) and it gives you a taste of the Gundam atmosphere. If you like that, then give the others a try.

I've always wanted to give it a shot but never knew were to start or anything so I always put it in the back of my mind. But recently I've been seeing some stuff related to gundam and I think in finally gonna give it a shot and see if it like it.

The currently airing one, Iron Blooded Orphans, requires zero previous Gundam experience.
It's a self contained series and the knowledge needed to understand is provided through exposition provided by the characters.

I have seen 0079 so far. Can I watch the OVAs: 8th MS, 0080, Stardust? I am at ep 2 of Zeta and I don't think I'll be able to stand that faggot Kamille and ZZ seems to be very bad. It is recommended to watch by production order but it will take a long time to get to these OVAs and I heard they're good.

Watching the first series, Mobile Suit Gundam, is essential because you will start seeing craploads of references to it. However, I don't see many references to anything else so you could end your obligation after MSG. Luckily it's the best one and legitimately good.

I'm not sure becoming an UC fan is a good idea.Try crack instead.
But for normies the UC OVAs should be good enough even if you don't know much about UC.
If you are not very picky you can try some of the more popular AUs like Seed and 00 (or even Wing?) for entertainment value.
