Episode 2 about 4 hours.
OP will done by Sanzigen&Trigger with Imaishi Hiroyuki as OP director.
Not sure, maybe?
>They have to draw these backgrounds and some of them need to be in different angles
>Most of them will have 2-3 seconds of screentime
What's so weird about it? CG, when done right, can look gorgeous. Anime usually can't afford to do good CG, at least not for more than a scene or two here and there, which is why it looks like complete shit most of the time.
Yes, good and talented key animators are getting rare and if they don't want the whole industry to not look like a fucking joke in 10 years, they either have to fix this problem or go full 3D
This finally get interesting too, didn't expect mecha this soon
I didn't like this episode as much as the first one, and the CG definitely isn't helping. The mecha fights also looked pretty terrible, looked clunky and used too many stills. At least the human fights were pretty much the only thing that actually looked decent in episode 1.
I'm realizing that the biggest impression Episode 1 left on me was the prologue where they were on Sky Island with their parents. Now that it's just Good Kids vs Evil Adults it's sort of losing its charm.
>character fires bullet
>magic barrier blocks it
>character gets punched by giant robot
>magic barrier blocks it
They should have kept it at human fights. The mecha fight definitely wasn't impressive and quite clunky.
This is literally "Power Rangers: the anime". It's so weird to get hyped by the first episode only to be let down so fast.
Episode 1 was a tasty world-building episode that focus more on "show, don't tell" and told only the necessary to understand the situation.
Here, we're thrown into a fight without the stakes being clear, the characters make heel turns in their behavior and the MC goes full nekketsu.
I wish they would have focused more on the characters but this is just going to be an experimental action anime to try out their CGI animation. Too bad, I was expecting much more.
Guess I'll keep it as a popcorn action for the next 22 episodes.
What are you saying, the mecha fight was great.
The power rangers thing is sort of stupid. But, I am still enjoying this show because of the direction and the writing. I like how it's not strictly an "us vs them" thing, how there's a variety of motives even among the main cast and how they clash with each other. That has the potential to make things very interesting.
The writing is also just really well done in general, they do a good job of telling the story without having exposition dumps. Things like the argument between neon sneakers and neon leggings where she was telling him not to abuse his bubuki and he was saying it's just a tool without feelings. That's kind of cool. It keeps me engaged because I want to know the answers to all the questions it's raising: Is okasan still alive and what's she up to? Is sky loli still alive? Is it possible she's really the one holding back the Burankis? And such. They deserve credit for having genuinely interesting plot points that make you want to know more.
A negative is the fights which as someone has already pointed out never seem to actually put the characters in danger or cause physical harm to anyone. We need someone to die or get injured if we're going to care about them at all. Fedora shitter is a good candidate for death because literally nobody would miss him if he died right now, and it'd be fun to watch sweater loli punch his shit in.
Sorry I still can't remember any of the characters' names.
>A negative is the fights which as someone has already pointed out never seem to actually put the characters in danger or cause physical harm to anyone
You know its only the second episode right?
Well it's a single-cour show and we've got this whole JRPG villain team. I'm kind of assuming we'll get fights with each of them and it'll be "whole team of good characters versus one strong bad guy" like it's been so far. And if all of these fights end with "you hurt me real bad but I'm ok" it will be kinda lame.
>A negative is the fights which as someone has already pointed out never seem to actually put the characters in danger or cause physical harm to anyone. We need someone to die or get injured if we're going to care about them at all.
Think of it this way, if someone croaks this early
>wtf is this edgyshit there's no reason for him to die SHOCK VALUE
Anyway, if you want people to get injured I suggest you watch the OP, it seems we are in for some shota and loli abuse in the future.
But, why do the characters have magic barriers that protect them from gunfire?
Right at the start, this guy shoots sniper girl and his bullet goes right through hers, then rushes towards her, and she... falls over. And we see her in this yellow bubble.
Well, I would have hated infodumping at this stage. More explanations should come now that the heroes can (perhaps) get some respite.
One thing's almost sure: "Hii-chan" won't be putting up with MC's bullshit for much longer.
Can't comment the show is good or not however even if ends up bad, i think Reoko will still be one of top tier girl in this season.
>I was expecting everyone would get their own mecha, maybe later on.
I wouldn't bet on it, it seems like everyone will be sticking to Oubu and their Bubukis
what are you basing that on, she was a pretty standard fare crazy fire bitch
Not him but same. The second episode was too much of a battle shounen for me. The annoying humour and the stereotypical behavior of the villains aren't helping either.
Guess I'll stop for now and see how anons react to the series' developement.
I get the impression Reoko saved the world from the first lot of Buranki and then threw everyone (Except her closest, of which probably includes Gun Guy) under the bus probably due to the age lock.
Hell, her uniform has a real Sukeban Deka feel to it, like she was the MC of her own story that took place prior.
Same, it's a shame /m/ totally glossed right over this series. Their taste in mecha is on a steep decline these few years, only good mecha to have decent shitpost-free and discussion threads last year was Fafner.
To be fair, nothing said there would be mecha elements on this.
The way the firt episode and the synopsis described the Buranki, they were closer to titans from Shingeki or the colossus from Shadow of the Colossus. I wasn't expecting the Buranki to be used to control Oubu like a Super Sentai mech
There was actually some speculation about it when the PV was announced, nothing concrete granted, but it's there. It was because they listed all the parts each character was like a title, including all the villains.
Cannot get enough of the red pantyhose service.
That aside, the series is a positive surprise so far, though I still think the character CGI looks pretty wonky at times. It's better than most other attempts I've seem, though I'm not particularly fond of the exaggerated character movement at times. Those instances reminds me of shitty sentai squad series, where actors would overact like retards for emphasis, when wearing the suits. At other times, especially action scenes, it looks pretty good. The story is intriguing, so far.
I really liked the first episode, but this one less so, I think it was mainly the really clunky mecha parts. I don't mind the mecha themselves, it's just the CG for it seemed as awkward as the characters are most of the time, and also the overuse of stills during the fight didn't help either.
I'm hoping the series sticks to mostly human fights, since those moments seem to have been when the CG has been at it's best.
...Am I missing something? Is this season 2? Loving the show so far but they sure do love to throw around a lot of words that don't mean anything to me.
Decided to check ep1 back now that I'm taking this series seriously
Never noticed all the burankis there, the island is really filled with them
What's so special about the writing?
No infodumps, instead of exposition we're treated to the backstory and world setting through character actions and the plot movement, there's a sense of intrigue to the whole thing that makes the story not seem too narrow while at the same time never meandering.
I kinda like it overall but the characters like evil guys, spear guy and fist girl are too generic for me.
And the captain planet/ power rangers mecha is not working for me.
1st episode was much better.
But still - Reoko does things to my dick. Just like neon red pantihose.
It won't stay power ranger mecha forever, they're implying it should be pilotable with 2 peoples only, or alone like Reoko
Also yes best grill (kek)
Great combination of cleavage and legs.
It's an anniversary show. It would be worrying if it wasn't at least okay
Yeah, because anniversary shows are always great, right?
I still don't know how to feel about this show. I don't hate it, but I feel like I should pretend it doesn't take itself seriously to fully enjoy it.
The silly crazy faces certainly don't help.
>they didn't shoot
They're lucky this isn't set in murrica or france
I like this show. The characters, even the edgy motherfucker are enjoyable. The CGI looks good, even 2D sometimes. The group of villians look interesting too and the plot even more. Only con for me is that its a mecha but oh well. It kind of reminds me of the shows i used to watch in my childhood.
This is so Imaishi
Man, I didn't want to love her this much, but she has a black/red color scheme, she's fairly insane and she a 40 years old hag in a really sexy 16 years old body.
She might just be the best girl of the season.
If you think about it, her uniform is a highschool uniform from that time in Japan(I think)
It actually makes sense.
>mfw reading this thread
Are you guys for real?
Don't get me wrong, I like the show, but the writing and the characters are your average battle shonen.
Not going to lie, lads.
I want to fuck her. Hard.
I want to like this show, but it really sucks...
The main failure is that they went with a team perspective and ditched the high fantasy setting immediately.
Would have been GOAT as a high fantasy sibling story of discovery, but what we got was ancient evil mankind dumb dicks
Is it just me, or are the CGI models multiplying the embarrassing "chuuni" feeling of the character designs and their dialogue?
The show is still interesting, but fedoramaster and angrylancekid make me cringe every time they do something.
I want to gangbang Reoko, guys.
Who's with me?
>are the CGI models multiplying the embarrassing "chuuni" feeling of the character designs and their dialogue?
Pic related I suppose.
>she's back for AA6
Lance and glasses girl are the ones making me cringe a little because of their "crazy and cool" faces
Also pic related
I'll get in line
That's some kill la kill level reaction face.
epi 2 was so horrible, she's the only saving grace in it.
and epi 2 pretty much set the style of how the entire show is going to play out so i'm not expecting it to improve at all, which is a real pity seeing as how the 1st epi was really good imo.
Is she the MC's love interest?
Also, what episode will the imouto make her grand appearance in?
First ep was pretty generic.
Then ep2 feel like what would be ep 11 in a generic show
>All the bad guys are overpowered as shit
>100% power punch did absolutely jack shit
Pretty good so far, its nice to see the power of friendship bullshit fail. However it felt like we suddenly jumped to the middle of the season with this episode, which was weird.
>If I'm going to die, atleast fry me up so I look tasty
I love their character dynamics, and don't worry you already look tasty
>When Azuma Kazuki returns to Japan after 10 years, he gets assaulted by a group of armed men and becomes their prisoner. Kogane Asabuki, a childhood friend, saves him with a weapon on her right hand known as Bubuki; a weapon with its own mind. Azuma Kazuki, who is a Bubuki user himself, learns about the existence of Bubuki and goes on a journey alongside the companions he has found, in an attempt to find and revive Oubu, a Buranki (titan) who sleeps underground.
Pretty sure episode 2 already finished this summary's plot.
I take it Fedora has orders not to kill A-chan base on his reaction here.
Personal space is a thing in Japan
Built for sex.
That haughty attitude is the best for breaking down.
My mind says no but my dick says YES!
Watching it to see what happened to the sister. Please just show up soon.
I want to make love to her.
What kind of lass is she in the bedroom, for all of fiery demeanour I hope she's not a dead fish.
she has 40 years of experience, with a 16 year old girls body
best sex ever
Heres to hoping she wins.
Also what happened to MC's sister?
Is Reoko for rape or dating?
I think that Reoko's actually the MC's sister. Yes, it's been said she's had a 16-year-old's body for 24 years, but there are two possible explanations for why. First, time travel bullshit that'll never have a logical explanation. Second, there's an anti-aging deus-ex-machina that'll also never be fully explained.
Is Reoko the Inori of the season?
They've got showing mecha size down good, they really do feel massive. Also the Buranki itself is kind of Tetsujin-ish in terms of shape and clunkiness. They don't even have ladders to hold on to like Giant Robo does though.
For how bad of a mess it was, I enjoyed it too much. It was stupid, but wasn't ever boring. I also legitimately think Swallow is a great character.
Plus there's Schwarzesmarken this season that reminds me of CD with its brand of dumb edginess.
I watched it for this semen demon
she fit my image of Butcher perfectly too
How hard, lads?
Unrepentantly evil, just how I like them.
Is she going to reform or something, why would she take up the entire ED?
Nah, that'll make the MC her nephew.
My bet's on former peers or something. I wonder if the show will make evil all the time or whether some circumstances forced her to become like this.
Why would she be 40?
