In hindsight, I think we can all agree that Houkago no Pleiades had the best OP of 2015, right?
Just listen to this glorious shit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNkPJvVEm0s
HnP or OPOTY thread, I guess. Whatever it evolves to.
I didn't really care much for it when it was airing, but I did actually end up really liking it later on.
I think it's the MV that really makes it though. It's pretty nicely put together.
I actually liked the Subaru commercial overall, but the OP is cookie-cutter j-pop anime opening, you could drop it into any one of three dozen moe shows and nobody would know the difference.
This, on the other hand, WAS the best OP song of 2015: https://youtu.be/9UzJFDRz_f4
That one completely slipped by me with all the attention Flyers was (rightfully) getting.
It's pretty good, yeah. Though I'd probably take https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOU4YiuaxAM as my runner-up.
Can't get the damn thing out of my head ever since the show aired.
Pleiades was great but the OP was really unremarkable. My favorite full OP song of 2015 was https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYrCQsbX31c
Dat Hana Kana going all out, I can't get enough of it.
You can say whatever about the show but it's was the best OP of 2015.
HnP was much better show anyway.
>tfw some of the best songs of the year weren't openings
>tfw one of them had some of the best visuals of the year, too
Why can't we have glorious as fuck openings on a regular basis and only get rare gems in a pile of mediocrity?
Watching Yuri Kuma was like eating candy. The OP and ED were top tier but I think Mazeru na Kiken is my favorite for 2015. I'm surprised it didn't become this year's Guren no Yumiya.
>the best song of the year wasn't even sung in the anime
When it debuted it was basically an awkwardly re-edited version of the first OP with a slower song and substitute episode footage which is a god awful impression of it to associate it with.
I was rewatching the BDs recently and completely forgot that happened.
The second ending has the final character images off the bat instead of gradually changing too, what a shame.
Am I the only one that actually preferred the first OP?
Those violins and stuff do things for me.
Then again, I'm a huge sucker for the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles OST, too, which had plenty of those instruments.
FFCC would totally work as an anime and I'm still eagerly awaiting for that to happen.
I don't have a huge preference either way but the first OP wasn't this year so I can't use it to call OP a fag.
Of course I have other options
No but HnP did have couple of the year, male character of the year, and was anime of the year.
Good taste, best Sympho song.
Kekkai Sensen had OPOTY, but Pleiades was AOTY.
This song could have saved the last episode.
thanks. still need to watch styrofoamgears, been on the backlog for some time now. Accidentally started watching season 2 and got (obviously) confused. Apparently I also spoiled it for myself.
Take it easy, that show is something you're either going to love or hate, that is you either hate it because it's objectively not a good show, or you'll love it because it just clicks with you on an emotional level.
I enjoyed an episode not knowing what the hell was going on, just because of the designs so I have a good feeling. Already have a folder of images for it when I realized a large amount of 'random anime chicks' folder were from the same series.
If we're not nitpicking, Digimon Tri has the best OP of 2015 because Butter-Fly
HERO would be 2nd best.
The best of OPs can hype up a karaoke session in just a few seconds and command the whole room to sing together.
The designs are great, esüecially in S2 and S3. S1's designs are a bit inferior, but that's because the first half was made by a different studio and then transferred halfway to the current one.
>I enjoyed an episode not knowing what the hell was going on
Good, because that's exactly the mindset you need to enjoy the series.
Season one was the best season though.
Zerk Biki was cool along with actual stakes for using the Geah
Dark Maria was cool but then in turned into murder and whinging.
Dolls were cool but it got super repetitive and Maria dragged the story right down. Biki going through the same arc for a third time didn't help either.
Two and three aren't equal but which one is better really ends up depending on how you're looking at it at the time.
At this moment I'd say 3 was better overall but two had a better finale.
I will post this every thread until they dock.
I've heard one of the main staffers has said they were doing it. He wrote 'See you in season 4' on some art book sign off. Nothing official from companies though just optimism and rumours for now.
>hidden Symphogear thread
I'm okay with this
Best song in this anime wasn't even the OP, but Nanako's song.
>two had a better finale
S2's finale was rather boring as they were just destroying soulless monsters, basically nothing more than pest control on a large basis.
I view the three seasons as fairly equal.
S1 sucked in the first half, S2 sucked in the middle, S3 sucked in the second half, so they're pretty even.
S2 finale as an event had all sorts of cool shit happening over the what, three episodes it spanned. The tricky Geah bursting to fuck people up and stuff like that. Super fusion final ability. All sorts of cool stuff.
Three seemed weaker. It had it all lined up then let it down. Also Biki's fusion spot light got hogged out a bit by Maria who had sucked up enough screen time as it was.
I keep forgetting about Yamada-kun. Probably because they wasted too much time on a shit girl.
>S3 sucked in the second half
Episodes 11 and 12 were great, it was just the that the finale fell flat on its face.
Not liking Maria is your problem though, not a fault of the show.
Yeah, I wanted to say that episodes 7-10 were rather weak. The finale was okay but it could have been better, and it probably was planned in a better way before other people started messing with the writing again.
Only Mariafags like her. She was everyone's problem. She'd be fine if relegated to side character that appears every so often. The B team should have stayed separate and came back for when shit was real or for occasional, action, fun or comedy, they aren't capable of pulling MC tier drama like the main three are.
Carol could've been such an amazing tragic villain.
>This anime actually convinced me to buy a Subaru car
Was it ever revealed who the eyecatch artist was? Their art is beautiful
A song that doesn't appear in the anime characterized her better than the show's writing.
What were they thinking?
