I just finished rewatching this, and I have to say, it really was a great anime.
And Rin was best loli.
Why did this had so many good VAs? Noto Mamiko, Hidaka Noriko which is goddess, Houko Kuwashima, Satsuki Yukino...it's really sad you barely get to hear them anymore now.
Way worse than the manga. The first 18 episodes are a faithful adaptation, then it was cut because it was too expensive and it became a cheaply animated series with tons of sub-par filler.
Yea thats why i dont give a shit about the Ranma anime either. They made a new character as Kuno's lackey that basically is Gosunkugi, then later still introduce Gosunkugi as a character. Plus they skip the decent fights like the Ryu Kumon and Herb arcs.
He is fabulous.
Yes. The show really lost something when they made the switch. Which really is a shame, since that happened right at the band of seven arc.
I would say yes just go through the Manga and skip the TV anime more than anything else.
Though if you can watch the OVAs after you read the manga to see certain parts of the manga animated if you want. Still though in my opinion I found them largely underwhelming compared to the original manga but they don't cut out a bunch of stuff as much as the TV anime does.
The movies are self contained stories that you can watch after reading past when Ukyo was been introduced. The first one is meh and the second one is decent
They cut a lot of corners. I remember being all excited during the first episode after the switch thinking that was a huge step forward. Boy was I wrong.
InuYasha had cute feet.
Sasuke fills Gosunkugi's roles early on but he's not the same character at all. Also they didn't animate the Ryu Kumon/Herb arcs because the anime was cancelled before the manga ever got that far. (Reboot plz)
Ranma anime had some decent filler episodes. (It helped that even in the manga it becomes an episodic sitcom after the first few arcs.) "Ranma's Declaration of Womanhood" was/is legendary.
One of the biggest examples of plot armor.si
You know I've never believed in "filler" per se but Inuyasha has some of the most shameless, unabashed filler in any TV anime outside of 70s Toei I can think of. Moreover, there wasn't a single likeable character outside of the pervert priest because it was a shitty shoujo anime sold as a shonen. The series had maybe five good fights (remember that it's supposed to be a battle shonen), and a countless number of WIND SCAR LOL episodes.
I watched it with some pretty ghetto fansubs back in like 2006 so maybe I'm biased.
Look man I'm not gonna pull the >dubs card but Inuyasha was seriously awful dubbed.
First series in 167 episodes and covers about 34 volumes.
Final Act picks up where it left off, and covers the last 22 manga volumes in 26 episodes. The pace is pretty extreme compared to the leisurely journey of the first anime.
What kind of dog is this
What? Inuyasha was great dubbed. It sounds horrible subbed. I usually advocate watching anime subbed but Inuyasha is one of the few exceptions unless you want the main character to sound like a twelve year old boy. Stop being a weebo.
>What? Inuyasha was great dubbed.
The Adult Swim promos made fun of the shitty dub you strangely misguided nostalgiafag
>I usually advocate watching anime subbed but Inuyasha is one of the few exceptions unless you want the main character to sound like a twelve year old boy. Stop being a weebo.
People simply do not get this reddit.
That's the one
>Inuyasha is commonly accepted as having a better dub. Same with Bebop and Trigun.
I've been browsing /a/ since SEED Destiny and I have never once seem this sentiment expressed.
Just to spite you I'm posting the superior dub of The Real Folk Blues just to spite you.
It fits the atmosphere of the show a ton better.
What the fuck is the point of covering a weeb somg in English if the lyrics are going to be so far removed from the original that it might as well be a different song? I hate Sapphire because apart from having no range all of her covers are pointless.
What the fuck are you talking about you mongrel?
you weren't joking about Hidaka Noriko. duuuuude.
The OST truly was based, and it's a damn good thing too because there are only about two dozen tracks for 150-odd episodes.
Man that Japanese medieval fantasy style is great. Are there any other shows with OSTs like this?
Confirmed. I can't imagine picking this up today. It really strained my 12 year old appreciation of power levels. Priest was by far the best character and they barely used him after beeeees.
Very much inspired by old Chinese and Japanese depictions of dogs.
Sesshomaru was so cool. I remember watching the show when I was younger just hoping he'd make an appearance. And even when he didn't it was worth it for this ED
