did you not watch clannad
I'm surprised at the lack of anime about japanese traditional arts, sports and shit. Kyudo, kendo and whatnot. They are in some shows, but as far as i'm aware never focus. Tea club doing actual tea club things could be cool as well. At least there was Hanayamata.

Plastic Memories counts.
The Warhammer thread we had on /a/ yesterday made me wish there was something about a tabletop gaming club.
And every episode would be cut between the game table and animated segments of whatever they were doing in their game.

TFW no crip and blood gang anime.

There's several.

That's because female leads are booring, like in real life : a single female never actually did something for humanity as a whole(talking on the level of Einshtein, Newton, Cesar, Endrix etc...)
The only way it could get money would be to appeal to moe autists, so you can forget any plot heavy script like firefighters or terrorists trying to save people/the world.
(all female) bowling team might work.

There's the kendo manga : Kurogane, but it got axed because the author shit talked Nisio-sama. He's doing a Shogi manga now : Mononofu.
