We start of with some gamer in a VRMMO being in a cave and laughing madly because he found a skill-book with an item enchantment manual.
Saying he'll now farm magic items and earn lots of dosh that way and stuff.
Then system error and funny scene where he talks about being ready to be transported to a fantasy world and having researched all kinds of stuff to be ready for just that kind of situation (kek).
His soul is about to enter a new world when suddenly something munches away at his soul until it's almost completely destroyed (him being dead) and only the skill book and the useful memories attached to it are able to pass into the world and fuse into the true MC of the story (a poor young adult man who is struggling to survive on his low wage and is on his way home from work).

A lot of the humor feels very 4-koma in its repeated use of "conversation, goofball says something dumb, reaction face" jokes. I wasn't crazy about most of that stuff, but I did really like the progression of the montage at the end. It was great seeing them get all caught up in their construction jobs. That montage also felt the most lively, which was a good change from the show's general ugliness. The characters often looked pretty... "off" in most situations. Even the reactions sometimes were kind of limp.

I don't necessarily agree with the ANN impressions of the episode, but there's definitely a lot of spurned-geek misogyny coming from Kazuma in the early going.

"Bitch" in Japanese pretty much always has the meaning of "slut", of sexual promiscuity. Kazuma certainly has plenty of reason to feel insulted by Aqua, but it's telling that this is the first specific comeback he uses. He doesn't exactly have a lot of evidence for it, which makes it seem like that's just how he sees most girls.

at first she was pretty M for Kazuma, then she's tsun, then finally she's dere and M.

Spoiler anon here. Still on IPad unfortunately, so I'm just going to list some general highlights, then do a detailed one when I'm not on a shitty device.

Aqua and Kazuma relationship much friendlier to say the least. I think Megumin and Darkness actually took notice of this, but their reaction was more confusion than anything else.

Megumin seems to be figuring out that Kazuma is from an entirely different world rather than just a foreign country.

Was apparently Aqua's birthday, which is only really mentioned near the end. Kazuma strangely seems to think about her even when she's not around considering he found an oddly shaped stone while robbing a place, and immediately thought it would be a great gift for Aqua.

Kazuma motivated a lot by his guilty conscious this volume.

Sentient armor and Kazuma best pervert bros. On a mission of sorts by the end of the volume.

In order to fix problems, Eris shows up as herself to the people in Axel. Place gets designated a holy site because of it.

Both Megumin and Darkness were pretty aggressive this Volume. Kazuma tells Eris about it, he starts ranting about harem stuff. Later she tells him to make up his mind on what route to go on.

Near the end Kazuma and Eris are alone together (because Megumin and Aqua were trying to beat up Darkness). Having a chat, Eris acting embarrassed and Kazuma says she is cute and jokingly says they should get married.

Eris threatens to tell Darkness and Megumin that he asked to marry her. Eris route pretty much confirmed open now.

Volume ends with Megumin whispering into Kazuma's ear. Tells him to got her room that night, because she has something to tell him.

Bonus chapter with Kazuma, Aqua, and Wiz in her shop.
