Have any rare/vintage books? Post them ITT.
I have acquired several volumes of doraemon, printed in Japanese, circa 1974-75. I've been trying to determine their worth, as I've read there were many unofficial printings. I asked /r/manga once, that was an exercise in futility. I'm happy to keep them in my collection, but I'm dying to know their worth. I haven't seen any pictures online that match them. I'm posting this in hopes a collector might see.
They look pretty good, though this one is a little worse for the wear, it's got water damage and the binding is loose. I fear pages will fall out soon.
And here's a picture from inside one, perhaps there's a bilingual anon who can tell me a little about what I've got?
They're not going to be worth anything unless you found someone particularly interested. Garo magazine, featuring a wide range of avant-garde manga and were once quite popular in the 60s and 70s and it's somewhat hard to find copies these days. But they're still worth only tens of dollars.
The only difference here I would also see is being Doraemon. But I can't imagine any avid collector wouldn't have their hands on everything already. And unless you know Japanese, you're never going to find anyone with that sort of passion.

I suspected this might be the case. still, they're gorgeous books.
sorry, I always have trouble with mobile uploads.
They aren't worth shit unless they are limited edition, impossible to find or signed by someone dead. I have some of my mom's manga and comics for the 60s and they aren't worth anything.
There's a neat story in one where they go in the ocean, I wish I could read it. I'll bump with a couple of pictures
I like the mix of the usual art style with stark realism in this panel
Why do you say that?
The panel directly below the previous is so simple, but so good. I love stuff like this.
Thats just the disclaimer page and author info, stuff like.
>This manga is drawn by Fujiko F. Fujio who previously drawn Obake Qtaro, Silver Cross etc.
I still remember the story perfectly.
>Dad got flu
>Insist on working
>Doraemon lent disease transferring gadget
>Nobita takes the Flu and want to transfer it to Giant
>Met Suneo and transfer him the disease instead
>Pity him since he will go with his relative after that and takes back the disease.
>Finally met Giant.
>He takes pity on Nobita and offers to bring him good medicine.
>Nobita complain why he is acting good now of all time and in the end didn't transfer the disease
>In the end met someone who want to get sick so he can get close to a Nurse in hospital.
I dunno, does this count? Kinda hard to buy rare old stuff if you dont live in Japan.
