If you're new to the series it gives away quite a few things, personally I had played the game first and then saw the anime so I knew already. Not that its really that big of a deal anyway, its still a great watch.

I actually didn't skip it, and when I got to this scene I thought in my head "Damn I forgot to skip the first episode."
But it was too late

Definitely recommend skipping the first episode to anyone who hasn't watched it.
