I don't really know. But SAC was inspired a lot by the manga, so maybe it's a bit of a throwback to covers and a few moments where she is semi-naked. Also, Shirow mostly drew porn after GitS, so maybe he was involved in some way.

Well, there's not much to say. It's really sad that she died in her forties due to such a terrible disease.
Still, while I liked what she did for SAC, I couldn't really get into her other stuff. Her voice was great, but I didn't like the songs. They were mostly interpretations of old Russian folk songs.

I found it the worse entry in the SAC franchise. First of all, it was a retelling of the original movie's story (with some elements from the second manga), and in the artistic aspect it pales in comparison to the original Oshii's work. That aside, it felt too much stretched out, I think the plot could have easily fit in a couple of SAC episodes.
