Are we just going to ignore the actual lyrics present in the song here? Telling a story is one thing. Telling it in broken english because you think the english language sounds cool and foreign is entirely different.

The simple fact of the matter is that I don't like a great deal of bad english mixed into the openings of my chinese cartoons. A couple words here and there is one thing, but this is ridiculous. I feel like the popular opinion around here is to simply gloss over these parts as a whole, giving the artists an A for effort but otherwise ignoring the segments altogether. I'm not saying song lyrics in general need to be sophisticated or complex in order to convey any sort of meaning. There are countless American songwriters that simply pick and choose words for the sake of sounding appealing as well.

But that's the key difference for you and me here. Where you hear something that sounds appealing, I do not. When the artist in question is singing in japanese, I cannot personally gauge the quality of the artist's word choice and pronunciation, as I don't speak the language. We should be in the same boat here, unless your lessons in japanese through all the shitty cartoons you watch has paid off recently. Either way, it's nonsense to me. That said, the english segments stand out immediately, simply chaining together words that sound appealing to individuals that otherwise don't speak the language all too well. It's great that they're somewhat bilingual. Impressive. Good for them. That said, I don't like listening to them for the same reason I wouldn't listen to that foreign exchange student from high school try to come up with lyrics in a language he's not incredibly comfortable speaking.

But I guess it's cool. You guys go ahead and listen to that shit. Add those lyrics to your massive playlist of chinese cartoon openings. Maybe someday the rest of society will stop judging you for it, and you can feel slightly less ashamed about your existence.
