What the FUCK?
Am I supposed to feel sorry for this bitch?
She can control her goddamn power.
I could see if she was like a young Jean Grey or Mao and can't help but listen to everyone's thoughts but she is PURPOSELY reading everyone's most secretive diaries and then reading them out loud.
Fuck this show.
I can't believe I let this shit sit on my HD for this long.
Can she control her power, though? I can't quite remember.
But even if she couldn't, you'd still have a point. Knowing something and saying something are two different things, i.e. she could've just kept her mouth shut.
She was a young kid, so I can sort of understand her lack of tact regarding her cheating parents. But the part with her schoolmates is differend. Even if she wasn't telepathic, and her friend told her who she liked, it still would've been rude for her to just blurt it out.
No, she doesn't force herself the whole point of that scene is that she can't control it and the thoughts of everybody comes to her and messes with her life.
Anyway this becomes SoL in episode 2 and then it becomes Mystery with the serial hitter shit. Oh god what a mess this show was but Koutora a kyuuto gaaru!
Everytime I see threads like these I honestly wonder if OP is retarded or just trolling.
There's nothing in the series indicating that she can control it.
The only thing that could make you suppose that she can (and even then only if you are the type that cannot think of more than one answer) is that she doesnt get that club president aims to use her (which by the last episode or so when the president admits it, Kotoura reveals that she obviously always knew)
I agree that she cannot control her telepathy as OP claims. However, she can still control her mouth. She doean't have to say everything she reads. Even if she's too naiive or whatever to inherently know not to repeat things, if she can read minds that well, she should be able to read that people might not want their thoughts aired to others.
I gotta agree with you there. The whole series was like one really lone Scooby Doo episode. (Though that might be a tad bit unfair, since even Scooby Doo has a certain charm to it. This had no redeeming qualities.)
Anyone who thinks this sounds interesting ahould just to watch Haruhi or Dusk Maiden or some other show about a high school paranormal club.
>However, she can still control her mouth. She doean't have to say everything she reads.
Yes, she was like six. I'm sure her parents taught her not to talk about stuff like that and didn't just abandon her because their marriage was falling apart anyways.
>Even if she's too naiive or whatever to inherently know not to repeat things, if she can read minds that well, she should be able to read that people might not want their thoughts aired to others.
Again, she was never mature enough to understand that. Otherwise the stuff in the later episodes wouldn't have happened. Its because she knows that she's fucking up that she's afraid to open up.
It hit the right chord with me. The scooby arc was stupid because the whole point of the show was having kotoura trust people again. They didn't need to go so far with the cop girl, it felt out of place.
But that's the thing, from her perspective knowing everyone else's thoughts was just normal because she was born like that, and we naturally project our own abilities on others. In her mind, everyone can do that because there's little to prove otherwise.
So with that mindset, what's wrong with speaking the thoughts you hear? As far as she knows, everyone already knows each others' thoughts already anyway. To her, normal people look like they're playing pretend or being belligerent.
I watched this show on netflix and dropped it.
It was incredibly boring and unoriginal.
The main guy was just fucking stupid and annoying.
The blue haired chick does nothing interesting, and her backstory is just forced.
The only character I thought was decent was the midget.
The grandfather, mother, and psychic chick are just incredibly uninteresting.
No, anon, why did you make this thread? This show was supposed to fade into non-existence as soon as possible.
Honestly? I liked the show. The humor had its self aware charm, they tried DOING THINGS with the characters, They made Kotoura sympathetic, and the MC was actually a strong MC who gave zero fucks.
They shouldn't have opened with full-drama and then change to light SoL and then keep changing to full drama like what the hell man? They had Masahiko Ohta directing, keep it all SoL and let the man work.
My take is that we learned more about Kotoura in like... what? 7 minutes? Than some shows spend 25 episodes building. We get her established, we feel for her, and then we see her getting to move forward. It then takes itself somewhat seriously while also lampooning psychic detective shows but actually manages to grow kotoura as a character from what we learn in episode 1. Could that have been done better? Oh you fucking know it. But I liked it as it was. I just kind of wish it could have gone on for more episodes.
Why did I watch this show all the way to the end? I want my time back
Couple hours I won't get back either. Granted, that entire season was full of really terrible shows anyways.
>I could see if she was like a young Jean Grey or Mao and can't help but listen to everyone's thoughts but she is PURPOSELY reading everyone's most secretive diaries and then reading them out loud.
Eh no, to her back when she was a child it sounded like if they were talking out loud. She couldn't distinguish thoughts from speech as a child which led to her problems of babbling out everything.
Dude, how dumb do you think kids are? She should have figured this out in the 1st grade, not fucking highschool. My niece is in 1st grade and even she knows better. The bitch in the show was just clinically retarded.
Everyone had fun mocking it live. It wouldn't have gotten so much hate if everybody immediately dropped it after the first episode, it would have just faded into obscurity, but the retarded memes and the bizarre first 15 minutes of the first episode kept everybody watching until the end even though the entire show was pretty terrible.
>The SoL parts were great
They were generic at best and dull/contrived at worst.
>oh god she's so bad at singing hee hee hee
>The SoL parts were great.
Literally the most uninspired, pointless parts of the show. It's like they were given a template and even fucked that up
Autism. Autism never changes.
>However, she can still control her mouth
She grew up with the power, at an age where kids will say anything for attention or whatever comes to her mind. Reading the secret thoughts of others without realizing it and saying it is basically the worst case scenario for a psychic child in causing all sorts of unfortunate scenarios around them, and that's what happened.
