>>136001091 Do NOT fall for the horseshit people make up about the author changing. It did not happen. Tsuina Miura helped write the series' set-up and basic beginning stuff: he had zero role in the actual writing of the plot, so >hurr the plot got bad when the author changed is complete horseshit.
>>136001112 >manga is so good I wouldn't go that far. It's okay to read if you've got nothing else at hand, but it's not amazing or anything. Plus the art got really wonky at some point, especially the faces, but luckily that seems to be over now.
>>136001299 I mean, it's such a common impression that even the guy defending the series feels the need to clear up claims about when it went to shit >>136001246 . But yeah, keep acting like you know what you're talking about and have been on /a/ for more than a season.
>>136001345 No, he really doesn't, his antics have been relatively boring and uninspired since he crashed that plane. >Oh gee, it's hat guy, I guess he's going to do some utterly psycho and random bullcrap again, amazing
>>136001246 Irrelevant, it still turned to shit. It was at least kind of interesting before MC got rescued by hats guy, his behavior could've been entertaining, but during the escape and afterwards it just plummeted and never really recovered.
>>136001965 >>136002136 Those are fair viewpoints, but that wasn't the point of my post. My post was to help prevent people from spreading lies or believing in a lie because it's commonly cited. You can think what you want of the manga, just don't claim that it's the fault of some individual person's departure from a project that the plot isn't something you can appreciate.
>>136002896 Not him of course, but such people are generally referring to the pathetic shounen-y way it started, with Kei being saved by friendship and "good people would CARE about Ajin!" and DO YOU HEAR THE PEOPLE SING and all that crap that it looked like it would turn into; instead of the more *original* plot course that it's taken.
>>136003015 Literally no one said this and my post clearly contradicts your implication. Please acquire basic mental faculties before trying to discuss subjective qualities on an anime image board. >>136002996 >oh look I'm a psycho >except not really I'll still help people I'll just be a whiny bitch about it >oh look bad guys do bad things How original
>>136002996 >good people would CARE about Ajin But that's literally what would be the case in a realistic setting. It's basic human social skills to feel empathy towards creatures that look and act human. >>136003730 No, anon, I asked for you to explain it. I can google a definition too, but I want to know what you think a strawman is. If you quote something you found online then I'll consider that as you admitting that you don't know what a strawman is and you concede the argument.
>>136003806 It basically goes like this for Ajin: >nothing similar to Kagunes >no superhuman strength except immortality >no kawaii hawt baes
>less emo >MC doesn't need dozens of emo chapters to accept his new identity >less whininng, more killing >little to no "I wanna save all muh friends waah waaah"
It's kinda like Tokyo Ghoul but with more edginess and less typical emotional bullshit. Newer archs haven't eeb that convincing though. Not sure what they do with the anime though, they might turn it as shitty as the TG anime.
>>136004264 I did too, like when MC's ghost stopped those two guys from moving so that they'd get hit by the train, I thought it was a cool idea to give them unique-ish powers like that that go with their designs. But turns out that was just a fluke and hasn't happened since then up to when I dropped the manga.
>>136004418 That's not a unique power, that's just an inherent physical ability because of the form. Hat guy's having a big mouth isn't a unique ability, and the other guy's one having claws isn't a unique ability either.
>>136005544 >It's garbage though. no >Lots of mangafags quit the series as well. You mean like the commercial pilot who was seriously offended/angry that the 9/11 chapter didn't follow completely proper aerodynamic physical logic and then argued about it for hours in a thread? As in, autists?
>>136005989 >You mean like the commercial pilot who was seriously offended/angry that the 9/11 chapter didn't follow completely proper aerodynamic physical logic and then argued about it for hours in a thread? As in, autists? I need links to that.
>>136007056 It was the day the chapter was released by blackinque. I made a thread about how I was laughing uncontrollably, and this guy came in bitching about planes. It was a long ways back, I don't know if desustorage is caught up in re-uploading the archive. Is it?
>>136001251 Only that Tokyo Ghoul far outdoes Parasyte. I like Parasyte; it was good for its time, but it has aged poorly.
Most characters are background decoration. Hell, even "Kimi Izumi Shinichi-kun, dayo ne?" is nothing more than a refurbished sanity bar, there to kick the viewer in the face and tell them the obvious, which is that Shinichi changes over the course of the story.
I get that purpose, but she's hardly more than that.
Again, not contesting that Parasyte is great, especially for its time, but its character development leaves a whole lot to be desired, among other things.
